June 8, 200619 yr Fields with just a normal day off? Should I start the rumor now...both Griffey Jr. and Fields didn't play tonight!
June 8, 200619 yr Ryan Sweeney 3-5 tonite in the Charlotte win. He's up to .317 now. He's getting very close to being major league ready, this guy can hit and he's very calm at the plate. One of quickman's many prospect buddies Wes Whisler with a nice outing tonite for W-S in their victory.
June 8, 200619 yr QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) Ryan Sweeney 3-5 tonite in the Charlotte win. He's up to .317 now. He's getting very close to being major league ready, this guy can hit and he's very calm at the plate. He can hit, but I'm still wondering when were going to see the power.
June 8, 200619 yr QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) He can hit, but I'm still wondering when were going to see the power. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...dpost&p=1164405 Probably next year if he's at AAA, at least two seasons if he's up at the bigs next year.
June 8, 200619 yr QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) One of quickman's many prospect buddies Wes Whisler with a nice outing tonite for W-S in their victory. That would be quite a list wouldn't it Jim. Whisler's actually been really good lately. His ERA was up above 4 IIRC about a couple of weeks tonight. Tonight's outing has it down to 3.59 now. 8IP, 1ER, 2BB's and 3K's. Ray Liotta, 7.1IP, 4ER, 4BB's and 3K's. Tom Collaro 3 for 4 with a 2B. Richard Brooks picked up a win as well. 4-5 with a 5.10 ERA now. Went 5.1IP, 7H, 4R, 2ER, 0BB's and 3K's. A fairly good outing for him.
June 8, 200619 yr it seems Whisler has finally figured things out in High A.... I hope he gets promoted in the near future. Isnt the organization really high on him for some reaosn.
June 8, 200619 yr QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) it seems Whisler has finally figured things out in High A.... I hope he gets promoted in the near future. Isnt the organization really high on him for some reaosn. Well he was a pretty high draft pick, and IIRC he's got 4 fairly good pitches. Until now, he just had trouble putting it all together. I'd say Lucas Harrell would be ahead of him at this stage for a promotion though.
June 8, 200619 yr QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) Richard Brooks picked up a win as well. 4-5 with a 5.10 ERA now. Went 5.1IP, 7H, 4R, 2ER, 0BB's and 3K's. A fairly good outing for him. Brooks has really disappointed me this year. I still believe he's gonna be a good one, but he's got to get his head out of his ass... sort of speak...
June 8, 200619 yr QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 03:14 PM) Brooks has really disappointed me this year. I still believe he's gonna be a good one, but he's got to get his head out of his ass... sort of speak... Yeah it hasn't been a good start for him at all. Hopefully he can carry on some momentum from today's outing.
June 8, 200619 yr QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) Collaro continues to show he might be becoming a real AA hitter soon lol. Yeah he sure drilled that last double. Right off the 2nd Baseman's shoulder. Sounds like another Cub player I know of
June 9, 200619 yr QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) Brooks has really disappointed me this year. I still believe he's gonna be a good one, but he's got to get his head out of his ass... sort of speak... Kanny had quite a few guys that could have really made some noise as prospects and thus far none of them have.
June 10, 200619 yr Heath gets it done again, 7-2 with a 1.89 now *yawn*. Damn I can't wait to see him up with the big club eventually.
