  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) What was he supposed to do, pull a pitching-wedge out of his ass to hit it? The ball hit a foot in front of the plate. But damnit... could've used a big hit there. Tadahito with two of the bigger AB's so far in this game, and has failed. I actually didn't see the pitch. Rather, I just saw the throw to 2nd base. Judging by the conversation on here, it sounded like a blown hit-and-run.
  2. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) I don't have the advantage of seeing the game, but I dnow he struck out on the screwball. Presuming that was one of his 'screw ups', what other hitable pitches did he miss? He blew the hit-and-run. Ozuna should have been out by 5 feet if the throw was good.
  3. Tampa's had plenty of chances to bust the game open, but they keep hitting into double plays.
  4. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) And yet every inning that the Sox fail to score off him, there are comments pointing at the Sox ineptitude. Not from me. The only thing I'm disappointed at is with the continued lack of execution by this team. Our "great" number 2 hitter screwed up twice in his AB, and we're lucky Ozuna wasn't CS for the third time in two games.
  5. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) especially in the 2nd half. Yep, he doesn't just win games, he seemingly gives the other team no chance.
  6. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) Surprise, surprise... Whenever the Sox face Johan, I have no expectations of a win. Even if the Sox had won 20 games in a row, I'd still think the same. I just think Santana is the best pitcher in baseball.
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) a month ago, i would have called you crazy. but with the way they're hitting, why not try stuff like that, see what works, instead of waiting for everyone to come out of their collective slump There's also not a doubt in my mind Uribe should bat higher in the lineup. Uribe is definitely the type of hitter who produces more due to having to concentrate at the plate. How many times can he do a hit-and-run with Crede on base? NEVER
  8. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) None of it really matters when Santana faces us though. Cept for that one horrible game when he was hurt. No kidding. I have absolutely no expectations of the Sox winning tonight. The only way you can beat Santana is if you pounce on his mistakes. However, the more we keep swinging early in the count, the less mistakes he'll likely make.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) The problem is Rowand has sucked big time too. Maybe a lineup shakeup would help out though. I'm all for Iguchi batting 3rd. Exactly, maybe moving Rowand up in the order would get him going. He's just as good as hitting to the opposite field as Iguchi is. As a matter of fact, Iguchi might be our worst hitter when it comes to runners in motion. He gives himself up so often when Pods is trying to run, and he has a ton of strikeouts because of it.
  10. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) he's really been struggling in that department lately, oddly enough, that's the department he excelled at the first half. I'm sure we'd have to lose 20 games in a row before any serious changes were made to the greatest team ever assembled, but I don't see why we can't let Rowand bat 2nd, and Iguchi 3rd.
  11. BTW, that's now 3 times in last 3 games that Iguchi K'd with a runner on 2nd, no outs in the first inning.
  12. Blueprint example of everything that's been going wrong lately with our offense. PK sure does look good at the plate though....thought that ball was gone off the bat.
  13. Who else agrees Rowand should be batting 3rd vs lefty?
  14. When's the last time Iguchi got the runner over? He's been striking out almost every time in that situation lately.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:01 AM) 4-2 in the top of the 3rd. Getting closer. Indians are going to score a ton against Hendrickson. It's only fitting they're facing one of the worst lefties in the AL as we face the best in Santana.
  16. I don't mind the offensive line-up...but I hope they don't hit anything to the left side of the field.
  17. Tampa Bay has jumped out to a 4 run lead in the first vs Indians. I wonder how many innings it will take for Cleveland to come from behind tonight?
  18. If Garcia goes out and gives up his early runs as usual, this game might be over quickly.
  19. QUOTE(Yeast Confection @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) 10 in loss column. Such pussies, damn. It's fitting that a guy with the name of yeast is calling others a pussy. :finger
  20. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) 7-4, Tribe gonna win again 8 game lead, our smallest in a long time.
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 12:06 AM) And now they are up 4-3 I hate the f***ing offense of the Indians. Even C. Blake is on fire now.
  22. I'd much rather the Twins not acquire Soriano. Hell, the best chance at beating the Twins is when Mays and Lohse pitch. With Mauer, Morneau, Ford, and Lecroy swinging the bat well these days, adding Soriano would help them a lot.
  23. One more Marte! Of course, my blood pressure could have gone without Hawk saying "watch out" on that throw.
