  1. Think we should walk Sweeney here to face Stairs? With Vizcaino being better against lefties than righties, I think it would be a smart decision.
  2. With Long coming in for DeJesus, why not bring in Marte to face him? Doubtful KC would have ph for him. If we're going to use Marte as a lefty specialist, might as well use it in big situations.
  3. Wouldn't mind seeing Hermanson in to start this inning. I wonder if Marte will come in for DeJesus?
  4. Rowand has absolutely no flexibility at the plate right now. Every swing is the same no matter where the pitch is, and he's not bending his back at all.
  5. Have a feeling Rowand will chase anything on the 3-2 here.
  6. What pisses me off is that the 0-2 pitch by Contreras to DeJesus that was called for a ball was much, much closer to the plate than the pitch that Dye was just called out on. I heard the Crede called 3rd was poor as well.
  7. Nice to see that the Cubs didn't keep Sisco. He sure looks to have some dynamite stuff.
  8. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) Keep the faith... If KC had 4 lefties coming up in a row, I would have had no problem with Cotts staying in there. However, Ozzie played right into Pena's lineup by leaving a lefty in to face 5 straight righties. Lets just hope Vizcaino can get out of this inning without allowing the run to score!
  9. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) He's throwing the ball very well... If you have a one run lead going into the 7th inning, you should be able to go to your core relievers to try and win the game. Cotts looked good in the 6th inning, but he's still way too much of a risk with his control to be pitching late in the game. And with that, he walks a batter
  10. Why is Cotts still in? KC has a lot of righties coming up to bat. I'm very confused now.
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) That's the reason it didn't go right? Who didn't know he was going to bunt? Greinke was able to start running forward while the pitch was still on the way to Iguchi because he shortened up like a pitcher does to bunt. Iguchi was very likely bunting in that situation, but there's no reason to make it as easy as he did for the opposition. Doesn't matter though, our 3-4-5 forgot how to try and hit for a single.
  12. Iguchi gave the bunt away way too early. Cost us a big run likely.
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) Isn't that what you're supposed to do? Get the other guy out? Okay, just making sure... All I said was that it was a bad at-bat by Sweeney, as he swung at a pitch that went about 58 feet. Sweeney's usually a better hitter than that.
  14. Gload didn't look exactly comfortable on that flyball there. Cotts looked real good that inning honestly. He showed good control.
  15. Cotts basically got Sweeney to strike himself out there, but I'll take it.
  16. Not getting any help at all from the umpires tonight. That was a very close call though. Cotts was slow getting over.
  17. Yuck, Cotts coming in and will face top of KC's order. He should not be coming in during a 1 run game. With 4 innings to go, why not go with Vizcaino, Marte, Hermanson, and Shingo? The chances that Cotts gets DeJesus out to leadoff the inning aren't very high.
  18. Is Gload going to find himself without a spot on the roster when Frank comes back? We need a backup 1b though, so I think he's going to stick. Honestly, it makes the most since to get rid of Timo when Frank comes back.
  19. Politte looks very strong so far this season. His fastball is crisper than it was last year, and his slider has been fooling hitters.
  20. Some of the ugliest swings I've ever seen from White Sox hitters in that last inning. I have serious concerns about Dye against rhp this season.
  21. Great to finally see a Sox middle infielder catch a throw in the dirt by A.J. Seems like Uribe and Iguchi had missed like 5 in a row in similar situations.
  22. My initial impression was that it might have been an achilles strain. I think he'll be ok though, as he seemed to be getting better quickly after it happened.
  23. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) Too bad to be a YAC monster you have to catch the ball. Wait, does that mean those highlights were when they handed the ball off to him??? Stop crapping on the guy. He's making a transition(ala Boldin) and he'll be better than what we have at WR other than Mushin. Funny thing is that in the main highlight they show of Bradley, hey shows terrible hands by not cleanly catching an easy throw, and instead it bounced high into the air and he caught it on the run. If he did that in the NFL, it would be an interception for sure. I actually think Bradley can be used as a dangerous slot receiver, and be used on reverses, etc.
