  1. It would be just swell if Garcia can shut down the Twins this inning.
  2. QUOTE(tony72 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) I heard the Sox were bringing in someone to help the hitters with their swings..? Who, Tiger Woods?
  3. Griffey's OPS against righties is almost .200 pts higher than Rowand. Where's he going to play?
  4. QUOTE(tony72 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) Hawk is covering the Sox ass if they don't land Griffey ... I honestly think Hawk is KW's mouthpiece.
  5. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) im not watchin, can you enlighten me Basically a heartbeat away from going off of Boers and Bernstein. Hawk just asked where would Griffey play again. Meanwhile, Everett's hitting about .240 vs rhp.
  6. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) but the catcher should know its coming, right? Doesn't matter, when it just spikes in the dirt coming from Garcia's cross-body arm angle, it's tough to block.
  7. Wohoo!! About time we got one of those bloopers.
  8. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) i didnt see the WP right there, but has anyone noticed, and it happens mostly when freddy is on the bump, that AJ doesnt block the ball to his right. seems like he tries to stab at it with the mit. its really the only thing i can say anything about with AJ. just seems he doesnt block the fastball to his right as well as other catchers, and lets some balls that most catchers would get to get by him Garcia's arm angle on his slider makes a lot of his pitches in the dirt impossible to block.
  9. Timo gave me a thrill! Now, don't do anything stupid on the bases, and I won't hate you so much. Wait a second, I'm lying. I'll always dislike Timo.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) I'm not saying that at all. If we got swept you think it would be this terrible thing. They would think, "oh well, it happens, lets go get the next team." If it was anyone but the Twins, I would agree. We have more games left this season against them than anyone else.
  11. Good job by Garcia of making the accurate throw. Big batter in this game in Ryan here.
  12. Indians just took a 5-2 lead. That game looks to be a win for them.
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) YOU may not have that faith, but I think they do. THey definately don't look at day to day games like we do. Yep, getting swept by the Twins in August sure will do wonders for the Sox's confidence.
  14. 2 dinks and a blast? Lets get out of this Garcia.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) Thats fine for you and me, but I don't think players think like that. Why should there be a sense of urgency when you have a 12 game lead in August? Why not just wait to have that sense of urgency in the 3rd week of September. But I don't think they aren't playing hard. THey just aren't playing well. There's a sense of urgency because one bad stretch of games against the Twins, and this lead can go from 15 to 6 or 7 very fast. We still have a fairly tough schedule the rest of the way against some very good hitting teams. I have no faith in our ability to outslug teams.
  16. Indians have bases loaded, no outs in a tie game in the 7th after 3 infield hits/errors.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) Well, I'm pulling for him. He's not Timo, so that's reason enough to cheer for him. Exactly. I know it's harsh to say, but I'm rooting for a season-ending injury to Timo. If that makes me a bad fan, so be it. However, I think it's in the Sox's best interest if he was off this roster for good.
  18. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) He's gonna have a lot of strikeouts in his first few games, especially if he's playing LF tomorrow. Oh yeah he will.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) If you want that, you want Cleveland to start winning. Tough to wake up and throw it all out there when you have a 12 game lead. f*** no do I want the Indians to win. Too many people in the Sox organization seem to want to coast to the playoffs. I've never seen more articles written about a team planning their playoff rotation/resting players while there were still about 50 games left in the season. As Al Davis says, Just Win Baby!
  20. Anyone agree with me that if we lose tonight, I'd rather we be no-hit? Of course, I'd be extremely pleased if we won tonight. However, if we're going to lose, rather it be an embarrassing loss to hopefully shake this team up.
  21. Uribe's taking two pitches against Radke? That's not very aggressive baseball. It just seems like we're playing not to lose, rather than go out and make things happen.
  22. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) I don't think I can watch nine innings of this. Milkman told me to take a week off from watching the Sox, as they'd only drive me nuts. I can't do that, but I wonder how he's doing not watching the games.
