  1. Hernandez is going to struggle in the cold, I have a feeling. A lot of the good curveball pitchers I've seen so far have a tough time gripping the ball in cold weather. You could tell Hernandez had a better feel for his pitches in the dome.
  2. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) Not a great ab for Harris, but again productive. He moved Uribe into scoring position. 2 outs for Perez. 2 productive outs in an inning is not a recipe for scoring runs, especially when the first "productive" out is leading off the inning. It was nice to see Uribe draw a walk though.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) Dear Mr. Crede, Please learn from Mr. Olivo in 2003. Resting your bat on your shoulder only to lift it right before the pitcher starts his motion doesnt help your swing. If your bat is so heavy, please see the equipment manager for a lighter bat. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I really would like to see Crede try a new load mechanism for his entire swing. He just doesn't get the bat through the zone quick enough on a consistent basis. A new timing mechanism, like what guys like Sosa have, could work to speed up his swing.
  4. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) i hate when people say that...was it a great AB? certainly not, he got out. for an Ab that he got out in, it was a good AB I agree. Crede has some GREAT pitches to hit that AB. He made good contact, but it was still a routine flyout.
  5. Hernandez should get to stay in until Crisp comes up. Then, Cotts should come in to face him.
  6. Thank you Jose Hernandez. He's stranded 5 runners his last two AB
  7. Hernandez's slow curve has not been effective tonight. Indians have a much better approach against him than the Twins did.
  8. Hernandez against a lineup full of lefties is a difficult match-up for him. He has to rely a lot more on his fastball against lefties, and that's not a strength in his repetoire.
  9. QUOTE(ZeroHour @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Not necessarily off topic becaue it was brought up but...our 3b "situation" Im going to say it again. Ryan Freel. The guys a scrapper and definitely stuck on Cincy's bench. Im a little less high on him now with that DUI business, but you have to admit that he would be a nice fit statistically. Freel has a drug problem. In the minors, he had a problem (this was like 3 years ago).
  10. Wohoo! Nicely done by PK. Elarton has nothing on his pitches.
  11. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) No one said that. What I am saying Carl HAS to play the OF. To spell all 3. THERE IS NO REASON WHY TIMO SHOULD GET MORE ABs THAN CARL. Absolutely no reason. And by saying Carl shouldn't play the OF, that's what you are doing. You are saying you favor Timo in the OF over Carl which is absurd. No, you're saying Timo is a backup outfielder, while Everett is not an outfielder. Since when do you put totally inferior players in the field just to play them? I honestly think we're a better organization than to have to do that. Everett makes Sosa look like a very good outfielder.
  12. Carl isn't bad defensively like Carlos Lee used to be like 3 years ago. Everett is at a whole great level of awfulness when he's in the field. We've been winning games because of our pitching and defense, not because we're out-slugging teams. Why not play Gload in LF, PK at 1b, and Everett at DH? If Everett just messed up some plays in the outfield, I would have just marked it up to an Ozzie mistake, and not mention it but once after the play. However, Everett got injured, and it could be a shoulder problem that really impacts a player's swing. Everett is injury prone!
  13. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) Why the hell are you getting mad at Ozzie? Where do you expect Carl to play when Frank comes back. He sure as hell isn't going to be DHing a lot. Carl needed to get work in in the OF. Oh well, s*** happens. In no way is this Ozzies fault, period. All I know is that Everett is an absolute disaster in the outfield. In a way, Everett/Ozzie/KW got lucky that Frank was hurt, so they don't have a 4 million dollar bench player. A pitcher won't have a lot of success with Everett in the field, especially someone like El Duque who gives up a lot of flyballs.
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Were you complaing before the game? On last nights game thread, I was saying how we need another right handed hitting outfielder. Someone mentioned Everett, and I said he should never be playing in the outfield, as he's an absolute disaster out there. So, to answer your question, yes I was complaining before the game.
  15. Seriously, what was Ozzie expecting by putting him in the outfield? Everyone in baseball knows that the past few years, he was the worst outfielder in baseball. Not only that, Everett's not exactly someone who's learned to avoid injuries. And what do you know.....one play hit to him, it cost us 2 runs, and he hurt himself.
  16. If Everett has to go on the DL, we might be the worst offensive team in the majors now.
  17. Ozzie's tinkering is out of control, and it's only the 9th game of the season. Now, we just lost our best hitter by far this season because Ozzie's a f***ing dumbass.
  18. Nice one Ozzie, you dumbass. If you're not going to play Gload or Timo in the outfield, then there's no reason to have them on the team.
  19. I hope that one play shuts up anyone from ever saying he should be in the field again.
  20. That's why you don't play Everett in the f***ing field! Absolutely no f***ing excuse for him to ever play in the field.
  21. Tough play for Uribe there. I'm still concerned about his fielding, he seems 5 times less confident in the field than he was last season.
  22. Just like to say thank you to the Indians for messing up that bunt. There's no reason we didn't use Harris in that situation either to bunt or on the bases. I'll take it though.
  23. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) Did Pablo get hurt? No, he was pinch hit for by Timo with Miller on the mound, who's a tough righty. It was the correct call.
