QUOTE(S720 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:26 AM) Fathom, I don't get it? Why KW should be fired? Who is he going to trade for now? The players only have themselves to blame if this team actually collapse. You whine too much man. Excuse me, but I've been saying for over a month now that KW, Ozzie, and the rest of the Sox organization tried to just coast into the playoffs. KW and Ozzie were too busy worrying about the team chemistry instead of trying to find integral parts that could help the team. Instead of actually having a good 4th outfielder, Ozzie would rather have Timo on the bench. I know a lot of people dislike me on this board, but I think all of them will state that I've been saying we weren't as good as our record all season. I'm a Sox fan, but I'm also a baseball fan....and this offense just has way too many easy outs.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:20 AM) We aren't going to make the f***ing playoffs, look how easy the Indians schedule is, they are coming If we continue to play like s*** vs Twins and Indians, we'll be finishing in 3rd place in the division. This offense has absolutely no confidence at the plate. I'm so thrilled we can count on our great manager to provide expert strategy to produce runs for the Sox when we can't score.

QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) ive f***in had it with this offense. this is f***ing pathetic. Time to can Walker, I'm sorry, but we need a guy with fresh ideas in there, these guys are NOT this bad. CWSOX45 If we keep this offense the rest of the way, KW should be fired, and not Walker. This offense just doesn't have enough, especially against tough pitchers you'd face IF you make the playoffs.

QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) Game Over the great collapse of 05 has begun. We were one lucky inning Sunday away from a nine game losing streak. The collapse began about 3 weeks ago, and the Cuddyer homer off of Hermanson and the game tonight just supported that our ship is sinking.

Rowand f***ing blows. He looked like a f***ing little league player tonight. Hey Hawk "where would he play"?

Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:14 AM) 7/12 games trimmed in three weeks. This may be about the time to begin worrying about a collapse. That time has come and gone. Now, instead of coasting, we're in an actual pennant race.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) what the f*** is timo doing pinch hitting? is anyone gonna ask that in the postgame? Because our manager is a f***ing idiot.

Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
Timo for Iguchi? Go f*** yourself Ozzie. BTW, that was the worst non-balk call I've ever seen.
-
Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
Well, this isn't predictable. We just can't f***ing beat the Twins in the 2nd half of the season. 7 game lead, here we come. Hey KW....get us some f***ing offense!

Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
Tampa down 1, 2 outs in the 9th.

Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) 2 outs thats why, no gappers, nothing over your head True, but this is Ozuna, who hasn't hit anything close to going deep this year.
-
Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
BTW, Crede should be in at 3b now.

Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
And Crisp makes a diving catch to get the first out in the bottom of the 9th.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) Nothing but a great game tonight. I'd love to be a casual fan just watching this game. What I want to know is why in the world were the Twins playing Pablo so deep?
-
Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
Not only that, but Tampa just barely missed tying the game on a homer.
-
Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
Son of a f***ing b****. That's as far as Ozuna can hit a ball.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) But just look at in if you were a Twins fan. You would be on the side of the bridge...... I think the reason so many of us are getting antsy is our expectations were sky high for so long this season. Hell, Twins fans probably think they have a solid chance of making up 10.5 games against the Sox. If the situations were reversed, I doubt many of us would even think we had a chance in hell of making up 10.5 games.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) who starts in teh playoffs (if we get there) buerhle in game 1 for sure prolly, but who game 2??? i give the nod to freddy, and even before this i would have cuz i think he has more experience than garland Worry about that s*** if we make it. Knowing Ozzie, we'll be surprised I'm sure if they make it.

We need one base runner in order to guarantee PK batting again this game. Sadly, he's my only hope for offense.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:54 AM) Question. Since there has been endless b****ing tonight about the O, why is everyone so scared of Minny coming back to win the wildcard/divison? We have outhit them tonight obviously, and as of tonight, it looks like Freddy is the better pitcher against the Twins than Santana over the Sox. What are the Twins thinking?? Garcia is having an amazing night, as is Santana. However, during the 2nd half of the season, Santana has been the far superior pitcher. Personally, I'm a lot more worried about the Indians and their dynamic offense.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) lol totally forgot about D'Angelo. I'll still have a special place in my heart for Jimenez and his game winning single against the Cubs.

Good inning Garcia. Is it too much to ask for M. Ryan to lose a ball in the dome ceiling?
-
Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) yeah, he will be the second guy over .280 (.282) I guess the playoffs will be the time to test the "good pitching beats good hitting" theorem, huh? Well, my only hope is we get there in order to test that theory.
-
Sox @ Minneapolis--Game 1--8/23/05
I don't care if these guys get a hit this inning, just no homers.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) Aslong as he doesn't strike out looking twice a game. You mean D. Jimenez Jr.?
