  1. Indians lead 5-3 going into the 9th.
  2. BTW, Griffey Jr. has two homers tonight.
  3. 5-3 Indians in the top of the 8th.
  4. 4-3 Indians after 5 innings. Blue Jays have missed out on some golden opportunities to score.
  5. 4-3 Indians lead now. Hopefully Toronto will go to their bullpen soon.
  6. McGowan and his near 9 ERA against the Indians offense = Indians win. C.C. is pitching good enough that he'll have no problem limiting the Jays to 2 or 3 runs.
  7. 3-0 and still batting in the first against the great Dustin McGowan.
  8. Indians offense is up and running again tonight. They've sure been facing some awful pitchers lately.

QUOTE(The Bones @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) Sure, he's not a great hitter but we shouldn't be relying on our #9 guy to be scoring runs anyway. He's a vacuum at 3rd. What is this, the National League? Also, haven't we used the same excuse with Uribe? When you have a team with no true superstar offensive players, you need everyone to contribute on a consistent basis.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) That's what ESPN 1000 said about an hour ago.... AS of this moment, ESPN 1000 is reporting that Joe Crede has a hairline fracture in his finger. They have not made a decision on wheather he will need time on the DL or who would replace him. Thanks

I read a rumor that it's not broke, and he'll only be out a few games. This was from Levine and WSI, so who knows.
  12. QUOTE(Nokona @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Negative. Radke's change makes his fastball look sick. Plus that change has got some sick movement. Against Nathan, BA attacked and fouled a few pitches off. He didn't look like he couldn't handle the heat. I must be watching a different game, because when I've seen Anderson swing at fastballs, he really struggles to catch up. And if you think Radke's changeup makes his heater look fast.....wait til Felix is dropping his curveball at the knees. Right now, Anderson has slider speed bat, and that's the main reason he got his first hit off of Radke.
  13. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) ^^^^ sounds about right Sox vs. rookie pitchers = not good. If ever there was a time to let Brian Anderson start... anybody know if he's seen him before? If there was ever a game for Anderson to not start, it's against Felix. If Anderson struggles to hit Radke's 91 mph fastball, then I wouldn't like his chances against 96-98 mph heater.
  14. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) The real question is will el Duque take command against a weak Seattle lineup. I'll take that weak lineup is a hearbeat over our lineup right now.
  15. Personally, I don't give a s*** if we get no-hit. A loss is a loss at this point of the season. If we get no-hit....then good for Felix.
  16. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) is that a personal attack? Im not sure you should be pretend-hitting me with a chair. I live vicariously through smileys. it wasnt so much an overexageration as it was a point. I dont really think Nomar's positives outweigh his negatives anymore. Of course, anyone can have a comeback in their career. i just dont think Nomar is worth much at this point, and the Cubs should have to live with his contract. His contract could have been a lot worse to deal with. While I would gladly take Nomar's bat in our lineup, he's just so unreliable right now. No one has mentioned that he had bad back spasms now. It's a shame...he was a great player until he started going after the rat.
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) I would be pissed if the Sox traded Matt Smith for nomar, much less Timo Perez Wow! Talk about overexaggerating. If you really would be upset if the Sox traded Matt Smith for Nomar,
  18. As long as we win the division, I don't care.
  19. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Yeah, and i'm gonna rip him a new one for costing us the tying run yesterday. Paul just needs to shut up, he's obviously pissed off enough fans, whether they be bandwagoners or hard core. That's the thing....if there's anything we should be critcizing PK for today, it's that he almost cost us a critical game because he flat our dropped a line drive, and then dropped the cutoff throw because he had lost his composure.
  20. Maybe it's just me, but some people are blowing this comment way out of proportion. What's PK going to say....I love bandwagon jumpers, hop on board? PK is our best offensive player...he can say whatever the hell he wants as long as he produces. I bet Illini fans had no problems with Weber as their coach, even though he said some pretty stupid things.
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) You mean you don't want to hear about loyalty from the guy that's going to sign the biggest, fattest contract he can get in the offseason when he said he'd give the Sox a home town discount? I'll believe that he's willing to take the home town discount when I see him sign on the dotted line. Until then, I think he'll go to the highest bidder, and end up playing on the east coast.
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Im with ya, I still think he is one of the biggest wastes of money in sox history. I dislike Timo...but there are a lot more viable candidates than someone making one million dollars.
  23. He sure looked awful on his first play over there. With his arm angle, he's a terrible candidate for 3b.
  24. QUOTE(supersuicidedoll @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) :rolly It was sarcasm!!!!!!! I didn't think obvious cases of it needed to be put in green.
  25. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) I could see us dealing Politte in the offseason. Will his value ever be higher than it is right now? I was thinking that, but I have a feeling that Ozzie/KW like him too much. It would be interesting if a team tried to make him a closer. Personally, I'd like to see Viz get traded, as he'll be making a decent amount of money, and he doesn't seem as the type of guy who will maintain his stuff over time.
