  1. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) Or Randy Johnson, take a walk wid, we need ya. Good call
  2. How about we have someone run for Widger? Absolutely no reason not to utilize our deep bench right now.
  3. Widger's been struggling with good fastballs for a while now. Where's Barry Zito when we need him?
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:59 AM) Ozzie hasn't pinch hit for a catcher all year and I can't say I blame him...when you're carrying only 1 backup catcher there's reason to be careful with those guys...what happens if you pinch hit for him and then AJ gets hurt or tossed out of the game? Casanova's on the bench
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) Stairs is hitting the ball MUCH better than Sweeney, who is really struggling. Walking a guy like that to get to Stairs would've been really dumb IMHO. Well, I've forgotten that Ozzie fears Stairs more than anyone else. Not only that, but I just think Garcia has hung way too many pitches tonight. I'm happy with the results....but I would have managed differently (as if anyone cares).
  6. Whew....still have a great shot in this game. I can't believe we keep challenging Sweeney.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) I find myself in complete agreement with that statement. Which means Ozzie is doing the opposite.
  8. Don't let Sweeney hurt us with an open base!
  9. Lets walk Sweeney, and bring in Cotts to face Stairs.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) Remember...once again, they have by far the easiest schedule in the AL the 2nd half, at least amongst the Wild Card contenders. That's why that sweep of them earlier this year was so damn huge. I think Minnesota gets a shot at them this weekend. Which means they'll likely keep winning a high percentage of games, especially with C.C. and Lee pitching lights out lately. The Sox have done a terrific job this month of winning the games they had to, and need to keep up the focus. The only way the Sox won't make the playoffs is if they have another prolonged slump.
  11. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:50 AM) inning/score? 3-2 KC after 6 innings.
  12. These games would be a lot easier to take if the Indians didn't win seemingly 80 percent of their games recently.
  13. Way to stay back on the ball Uribe....YUCK!
  14. I know Hawk's supposed to have a much greater knowledge of baseball than me, but I'm pretty sure Howell's thrown plenty of sliders tonight.
  15. Jphat...can you continue saying our players suck. They were doing much better when you went with that gimmick.
  16. I've never seen Rowand struggle so much against a lefty.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:40 AM) In all seriousness though...if you're a playoff team, you shouldn't have any difficulty winning most of your games when your pitchers throw quality starts...there's really very little excuse for not being able to at least score 3 runs against most pitchers in this league. In a scoreless game where your team finally scratches across two hard earned runs, you can't go out the next inning and throw as many poor pitches as Garcia did. I'm not sure if it's a lack of focus with him, but he certainly has a habit of allowing runs after we score the previous inning.
  18. The worst AB for Konerko in about a month.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) Another quality start! That'll work Freddy! Unbelievable.
  20. You hang that many curve balls in a major league game, and you're going to give up runs. I don't care if you're facing a team full of Christian Guzmans.
  21. Damn it Freddy! He's had nothing all game, and it was just a matter of time before that happened. I'm sure Ozzie will leave him in for another two innings.
  22. 2-1, 2 outs with a man on 3rd.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) 17,701 is the paid attendance for tonight. Not good...but hopefully this is the last game of this recent trend.
  24. This is the Freddy we know who has no problem giving runs back after we score. He's been flirting with danger all game with these high offspeed pitches. He needs to make some good pitches here.
  25. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:32 AM) He's clearly saying he wants Pablo to keep some playing time at 3rd when Crede returns. Yeah, I deleted it real quick once I figured it out. For a second, I thought Joe was a nickname for Marte!
