Wow. Not sure if we should thank Contreras or ARod. That was a pretty good pitch to hit there.

Contreras scares me when he drops down. He has a habit of leaving a lot of pitches over the inner half of the plate when he drops down on a righty.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) It was a 1 out Triple, Sizemore had lined out to RF, but the run scored 4-1 KC That game isn't even close to being over. Indians have made a habit out of coming from way behind to win games. A lot of their hitters right now are in massive hot streaks.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) I'm not even gonna debate it. Chacon is a good, underrated pitcher. BTW, I totally agree with you. I thought he was a great acquisition for the Yankees, and they seemed to have got him for cheap.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) That Comcast commercial sucks. He's yelling, "The cycle!", and Paul Konerko is the one on the TV screen. Not as bad as one of the Sox commercials that show Vizcaino. The problem is it's Vizcaino after allowing the homer to Dubois.

BTW, AJP never had more than 11 ABs in the 1-4 spots of the lineup prior to last night's game.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) Blah. Chacon=good You let a pitcher get away with two massive hangers....and he's going to look a lot better than he is.

I'm so happy we decided to move AJP up in the order though. Does anyone know if he ever batted this high in the majors?

BTW, the bottom of the 6th is a huge inning for Contreras with 2-3-4 up.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) Our boy Sweeney just hit a 3 run bomb... KC 4 CLE 0 -Bot 2nd Awesome. The yahoo page was stuck on him for a while. Why in the world would they pitch to him with first base open and a lefty up next vs Lee? That's as bad as anything Ozzie has done all year.

Time for a 320 ft homer by AJP.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) Well Buck's played mostly everyday, Murhpy is at the moment, don't know if Ruben Gotay is much better. I should have put "one of the worst" instead of the worst. I honestly had no clue that Crede's OPS was as high as it is now.

Wow, some terrific pitches to hit for Iguchi. I haven't really thought of it this year, but he's a better low ball hitter than high ball, isn't he?

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) Would you prefer John Buck and Donnie Murphy instead at the moment? As you know, I was talking about everyday lineups...and not roster changes that have happened. Kudos to finding a worse one so quickly though.

QUOTE(ANDYTHECLOWN @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) I dont know if anyone agrees, but Ozuna needs more at-bats. This sick--Dh him Ozuna has been struggling a lot also.

Pods is actually swinging the bat much better tonight. He seems more aggressive at the plate instead of being in-between like he had been for a few weeks. I've always said he's a much better hitter when he swings hard, instead of when he tries to guide the ball.

Our 8-9 hitters continue to be the worst in the American League.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) You realize that Chacon is way way way way better than his record right? He's had a very good season this year, after he was a disaster as a closer.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Either he got a bad jump or he was playing way too deep for Womack. I think it was the former. However, who gives a s***....it was an out Can we please put together some good ABs?

Good recovery by Pods on that ball.

Timo Perez
QUOTE(soxhawks @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) he's been hot lately I hope you're not serious. Before last night, he was something like 3 for his last 26.

If Crede is playing tomorrow, Ozzie should be fired. He's 2 for his last 22, I believe.
