  1. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:59 AM) ok, but how many of you have been b****ing for three weeks that PK needed a day off. Who do you put in there? Granted, Timo wouldn't be my fist choice, but I also think that Ozzie is putting these guys in situations to see what they do in the long term. If Timo is our long-term 1b, then I will become a Cubs fan. That would be as painful to me as chopping off my arm. You know what? If you don't have a replacement at the position, don't sit the player out then.
  2. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:58 AM) Perhaps a tiny bit of hat tipping could go to the Angels at the moment as well. Like Texas, they seem to be attaining their hitting eye. They got meatball after meatball from Walker. Even the Sox would have likely scored against someone like Walker pitching. How many times are we supposed to tip our cap to different pitchers or hitters?
  3. Ozzie is managing like every game isn't important, and that it's the NBA where 16 teams make the playoffs. We're going to need every single game possible by the end of the season. The Twins aren't going anywhere, and are likely the favorite to win the division right now. Their bullpen is 100 times better than ours right now.
  4. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:54 AM) Have y'all ever thought that Ozzie is trying to get these guys some playing time in critical situations to see what they do? That's the worst f***ing excuse ever then. That's an excuse commonly used by coaches/managers when they're trying to cover their ass.
  5. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:54 AM) For the record, the callers are murdering Ozzie on the post-game radio show. ' About what exactly?
  6. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:53 AM) If you would've rather seen Politte and Marte even though they pitched consecutive days, raise your hand. I'm so sick of babying bullpen arms. Marte hasn't thrown many pitches at all the last few games. Marte also clearly gave us the best chance of getting out of the 7th without allowing a run. No doubt in my mind.
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:48 AM) That's so wrong. Says who, Hawk? I'm just going by what I see on the field. I'm not impressed at all with the Angels team we've faced in the last two weeks.
  8. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:46 AM) we did just take 4/7 games agaist the angels if this was other years then we probaly would have lost 6 maybe even all 7 And they were missing Vlad and K-Rod (besides tonight). This Angels team without Vlad is nothing special.
  9. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) things could be worse folks. The Yankees have lost two straight to Kansas City. Carrasco beats Randy Johnson. Perspective, everybody I'd rather lose because we got out-pitched or out-hit anyday instead of losing because decisions made by our manager. I wonder if Hawk will chalk up this game as one of the 42 you lose no matter what each year?
  10. Hell, with all the criticism with how Ozzie used the bullpen tonight....at least he used pitchers in pitching situations. By far, the worst decision Ozzie made tonight was playing Timo at 1b. Contreras likely could have easily gone 7 innings, and got to our strong bullpen pitchers, if not for Timo's error. There's no f***ing excuse in the world for Timo to be playing 1b.
  11. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) WTF was Walker picthing....at all? Agreed. I hope he enjoys his plane trip back to the minors....or maybe even being given his release papers. The guy clearly has nothing left.
  12. I bet Jeff Brantley has the biggest smile on his face right now. Why don't any of these announcers make a comment back at Ozzie about how terrible of a hitter he was? Ozzie's lack of respect for people off the field is sickening.
  13. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) At first I was thinking that who would play SS if Konerko PH for Uribe and tied it with a double, and forgot Iguchi was on the bench and Willie probably if needed, could of moved to SS. Between Ozuna, Willie, Crede, and Harris still being in the game, we would have had no problems filling out our infield.
  14. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) If K-Rod throws that same nasty curve to Konerko on two strikes, he's out too. Sorry. Wow. How about if he throws those same fastballs he threw to Uribe, PK might have put a charge into one. I've always been a believer in the philosophy that if you're going to lose, lose with your best. I guess I shouldn't expect nothing else from Ozzie than to f*** up.....again.
  15. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) Actually Uribe. I think Konerko wouldn't have seen a single fastball in the sequence and would've either struck out or grounded out weakly. Or walked easily like Thomas did, where K-Rod didn't want to throw a fastball. Name me one other manager that would have kept their biggest power threat on the bench? I can't believe how some people try to defend moves by Ozzie that have absolutely no explanation.
  16. Can a manager suffer a season-ending injury? That might be our best chance to make the playoffs.
  17. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:26 AM) when has konerko ever seen an offspeed pitch he can hit, let alone read properly? About the same time that Uribe hasn't chased one. K-Rod wasn't getting his slider over the plate. Who would you rather have facing a pitcher who only has confidence in his fastball, Konerko or Uribe?
  18. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:25 AM) I could say the same for you and just about everyone else in this thread who thinks they know everything about not only what is happening, but also what will happen and what should have happened. The biggest problem I have is that everyone in the world knew that Timo shouldnt be at 1b, and that Walker should have never been brought in. That's not just bad luck for Ozzie....that's bad managing.
  19. And Ozzie letting our biggest power threat in PK sit on the bench in the 9th inning concludes just a terrible game for Ozzie.
  20. We have our biggest power threat sitting on the bench with 2 outs, with the tying run at the plate. That basically concludes just an astonishingly bad coaching night.
  21. f*** YOU OZZIE GUILLEN! That was the worst managerial game I've ever seen.
  22. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:07 AM) Yeah because Politte would have been flawless pitching a third straight day, Marte hasn't struggled at all lately, and Hermanson is soooo much different when he's pitching from behind. Shut the hell up and deal with reality. Well, good thing you're not managing us then.
