Tampa called up hard throwing J. Colome tonight. I'd expect to see him pitch in relief tonight.

Rowand is so much more dangerous against LHP. His swing is perfect for a ball coming from the lefty arm angle.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:59 PM) I am constantly amazed, in a good way mind you, how Jose C and even Hernandez can make the right pitches in critical situations. True....but just remember there will be games where these guys give up 8 runs in 4 innings. So far though, both have done a great job at avoiding the monster inning (besides El Duque in the first inning vs Cleveland, but that was Everett's defense's fault).

Wow, we escaped a potentially big inning there.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Contreras meltdown. His arm angle is bad right now. Hopefully he finds it soon. Good job there against Sanchez.

QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) I'm not sure what you're watching, but whatever you say. He was sliding into 2nd and it hit him on the way in to 2nd base, that would be on the 2nd base side. That was not Dye's fault, I am frustrated with him too though. But if you say so that's fine. Like you said, we're all frustrated with Dye. However, I know we have to just hope he picks his game up, because he's not going anywhere.

Very good play by Iguchi there.

QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) Bulls***. It's ok to hate a guy, but that ball hit Singleton sliding in. That's certainly not the right fielders fault. That throw by Dye was well up the line. Look where it hit Singleton...it was well to the 3rd base side of 2nd base. From that distance, most MLB RF would have thrown out the runner at 2nd base. Just remember, one of the reasons we brought Dye in was for his arm.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) God damn Singleton. This is unbelievable. Why is it always one scrub a series who kills our team? We have to start playing Singleton more down the RF line. His last 3 hits were all in the same spot.

Another poor play by Dye in the outfield there. Any decent throw would have had Singleton easily at 2nd base.

Gamethread 5/10/05
That was clearly a fair ball.

Gamethread 5/10/05
Crap, not a good start this inning for Contreras. I hope Singleton is bunting here so we can get the first out of the inning.

Patience Iguchi with Pods on base. Not sure what the scouting report is, but I would love to see Iguchi try to let Pods get into scoring position with 2 outs there. Oh well, good job by bottom of the order there.

What's the scouting report on Hendrickson holding runners on?

Orioles up 2-1 on Twins after a homer by Javy.

Excellent swing by Crede there gets the runner home.

Crede.....please don't pop the ball up weakly here!

QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) Plunk him. Morneau's OPS is 1.266 so far this season. 6 homers and 20 RBI in 17 games.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) Brian Anderson your plane to chicago is boarding..... Good luck with KW making a move like that. Remember Royce Clayton?

I'd just like to say we were awfully lucky to not have to face Morneau in 5 games this year. He's a monster this season.

Good job by Contreras there.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) We should try a pitch-out here with Crawford on 1b. Doesn't make sense not to try it there.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) Anyone else tired of Dye? Even his defense has been sub-par so far. Of course we all are. Nothing is going to happen though, especially with the amount of money he's making. Something I've noticed with Dye is that even when he's taking pitches on purpose, he seems to be off-balanced. His body is flying back, while his hands are going away from his body.

I thought Everett was clearly out at home. I'll definitely take the charity though.
