  1. How's it crap when tons of different sources state the same exact thing? And no, I don't mean the Score or other tabloid sports stations. Jayson Stark said Randy didnt want to go to the Sox like a month ago, and since then, there have been nothing but reports that said he didnt want to play in Chicago.
  2. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I really don't want the Sox to trade for RJ, which would cost the Sox a ton of money for 2 years likely, if it's going to cost them Lee or Konerko, Garland, and likely a top prospect like Anderson. Even if we get RJ, we have a ton of holes to fill on this team. Adding RJ to the Sox don't make them on par with the Angels, Yanks, or Red Sox right now. Having RJ doesn't guarantee victory...just ask Arizona last year.
  3. KW went out of his way to mention that he didn't think he'd hear back from Arizona about this deal again.
  4. I honestly don't think that if there was something even possible going on with Randy Johnson that KW would have said he had heard he didnt want to come to the White Sox. There have been so many different sources that have said RJ doesn't want to come to the Sox, so I have a very hard time believing that if it only boiled down to the Sox or staying in Arizona that he would pick us.
  5. The fact that the Arizona GM told KW that Randy Johnson didnt want to play for the Sox, and that he highly doubted he would hear back from Arizona. He wasn't laughing about this, but then you could tell something was up when he was making a joke about trading Lee or Konerko. It's the same type of laughing he did on the Score last week when they brought up Dye's name the day before he was signed.
  6. After watching this interview with KW, there's not a chance in hell that RJ is coming to Chicago. However, it seems very obvious that either Konerko or Lee will be traded.
  7. Except Crede is much cheaper than Hinske is.
  8. True, but KW sat on his ass while Danny Wright won one of his 15 starts on his way to posting a 6.15 ERA. We're all Sox fans here, and we just want a team where the 5th starter isn't a liability. There's nothing worse than the feeling of looking at the probable pitching match-up and knowing that the Sox have a very minimal chance at winning cause the 5th starter is going...wait, maybe seeing Koch come in for the 9th inning is worse!
  9. Basically, the media will laugh at the Sox and praise the Cubs for signing Maggs, even though there was no way the Sox should have brought him back for the 12 million plus he wanted after he got hurt. At that amount of money, he was too much of a risk. The reason I said it was a good move by KW is because there was a lot of pressure on him by Sox fans to sign Maggs, but he realized it was in the team's best interest not to, and to end their relationship with Ordonez.
  10. - If KW goes into camp with Grilli or Schoeneweis as his number 5 starter, he deserves to be fired on the spot. To make the same mistake 3 straight seasons would be inexcusable. - Just say no to the Vazquez trade if it involves Garland and Konerko. Vazquez makes a fortune, and the high amount of innings he's pitched during his career sure looked to catch up with him last year. - If Maggs were to go to the Cubs, it would make KW and the Sox look like s***, even though a lot of Sox fans realize that one of the smartest things KW has done in his career was to let Maggs go. There was no possible way a mid-payroll team like the Sox could afford a high-priced injury risk like Ordonez. - If the Brewers trade Kolb to the Cubs, the NL Central should have to fold. How can you have a division where two of the teams are basically the farm system for another (Pirates and Brewers for the Cubs). - My dream scenario for the rest of the Sox offseason would be to non-tender Timo Perez, sign Mark Grudz for one year deal (1.75 mil), and to sign a number 3 type starting pitcher (no realistic names pop up)
  11. You have to love the Cubune putting out this report in the paper tomorrow, which I'm sure will be on the front page, while the Dye signing will get a little blurb on the side. The funny thing about this article is that it suggests that the Cubs aren't really interested in him. I also find it funny how Todd Walker played with the Cubs for one year, but had enough class not to sign with their crosstown rival, the Sox, because he didnt want to piss off the fans. Nice to see Maggs have the same class.
  12. Well, I'm sure happy we're spending 4 million dollars on Everett who will mostly be a reserve when Frank come back. What in the hell was KW thinking when he made that trade?
  13. The same Kenny Lofton who was overheard in the Cubs clubhouse a few years ago saying that he didnt like playing for the Sox cause he was a Cubs fan growing up? No thanks, I'll pass on him.
  14. Last year, he gave up 11 homers in 186 innings pitched. That's an excellent ratio for Wright. Personally, I'd rather have him than Odalis Perez, who has pitched in a pitcher's park when he's shown success.
  15. Only promising thing about Wright is he has a terrific IP/HR ratio that was only topped by Tim Hudson last year.
  16. Mike Redmond is historically a terrific hitter vs lhp. That would benefit the Sox greatly within the AL central.
  17. I would love Todd Walker on the Sox starting at 2b, with Uribe at SS, and Willie as a bench player. Walker's defense is nowhere near as bad as people say it is. I watched almost every Cubs game last year, and he might not be the best, but he's no worse than what Robbie Alomar has become. As for his hitting, I can honestly say that he scared me when he was up more than almost anyone on the Cubs (I hate the Cubs, scared he would get a hit). Renteria is going to get a lot more money than what he actually deserves.
  18. Just say yes to Polanco or Todd Walker. Just say no to Pokey!
  19. One thing Guzman is on another planet when compared to Willie is bunting. With the way that Ozzie manages, this is one of the only reasons why a Guzman signing wouldnt upset me greatly.
  20. We would be so much better off signing a 2b, and moving Uribe to SS. However, stupid KW and his sidekick Ozzie are too blind to realize that Willie Harris should not be starting in the majors.
  21. I agree with what someone mentioned earlier, why is KW so intent on signing all of these old players? Will Dan Wilson and Carl Everett really lead this team to a World Series? Not likely. I know that Damien Miller wants a 3 yr contract. I really hope KW doesn't consider giving Miller a 3 yr deal.
  22. I believe Biddle had elbow or shoulder surgery and will be out all of next year.
  23. I don't think Ordonez will sign any long-term deals in the perceivable future. I have a feeling most teams will wait longer than the typical FA to make sure his knee is improving. However, I have to say that reading this article, I'm actually optimistic on where KW is heading with this roster during the offseason. Hell, it's better than reading that KW will have a payroll less than last year, etc!
  24. No offense to PK lovers, but there are a lot of hitters in MLB that can do what Konerko did last year. However, Hudson is one of the marquee pitchers in all of baseball. As good as PK is, he's still a pretty one-dimensional hitter at a pretty easy position to find a quality player. Ask any MLB expert, and they would tell you that Hudson is valued way higher than PK is.
  25. That would be a tremendous deal for the Sox. However, with PK being a FA after this year, and Hudson also, I'd assume we'd have to give up some minor league talent also. However, Hudson is an extreme sinkerballer, which would be great for the Cell.
