The Sox rotation is average, but looked a lot better when the lineup had Maggs and Frank in it. However, without them playing, the rotation will have to be even stronger. Garcia has pitched very good so far, and Buehrle is a great player for the Sox. Garland is very erratic. Loaiza and SS are the ones that worry me every time out. They just seem too easy to hit right now.
-
Yep, Bonderman out of the game hurt the Sox. They matched up better against him than Ledezma. Also, the big play of the game was the Konerko DP. There's such a big difference between facing Cliff, Marte, and Shingo than Cotts, Jackson, and Adkins. If it was 4-3 after 6, I bet Cliff would have come in.

Good call Ozzie of resting the guys. Screw today, tomorrow is the biggest game of the season so far, IMO. With Santana going Tuesday, we have got to win with Buehrle against a struggling Radke.
-
If Ozzie has thrown up the white flag for this game, then he needs to take Carlos out and put Borchard into the game. Carlos has almost inured his knee 2 times today, and he needs to be ready to go for the Twins.
-
I know people disagree with this, but Uribe has got to be playing. His defense at 2b is superb, and he can drive in runs. Uribe carried this team for the first few months, and with Frank and Maggs out, we have to give him the chance to do the same for the last 2 months.

Why can't Jackson pull a Pat Hentgen and just retire now? You can't have a reliever pitch that you can't rely on.
-
Can we please release Mike Jackson!!!! Just a terrible pitcher.
-
Wow, Cotts always seems to put the game out of reach when he comes in for situations like this. He really needs to go down to the minors in order to learn another pitch and get better command. Pitching once every 8 days will not help with that.
-
Carlos should have kicked that ball. No way the Tigers werent turning 2 on that grounder. I was thinking that same thing in the 8th inning vs the Rangers last week. Oh well, it's an intriguing thought that is never seen.

What I meant is that it's more important for Gload to get into scoring position in a tighter game.
-
If the Sox were tied or down a run, then Gload should have been tagging. However, when down 3 runs, you can't afford to even risk an out like he did there.
-
Yes, Burke is our best catching option at driving the ball into the outfield. His approach at the plate is very solid. Speaking of driving in runs, should Ozzie have had Uribe hit for Willie there? Even if they bring in a rhp, Uribe is better vs rhp than Wilie is vs lhp. Also, it would have got a rhp in the game for when Jose is up.
-
Yes, it was a very good throw. It illustrates why you need a good throwing RF out there, and having Gload in RF allowed Higgy to get to 3rd in the last inning. Gload is valauble as a ph, but has a lot of holes as a starter. However, we have the Tigers right where we ant them.
-
It's called The Curse of Ross Gload. Borchard really needs to be playing RF if he's on the roster.
-
I wish that Bonderman would have stayed in for the simple reason that the Sox righty hitters are better against right handed pitching as opposed to the lefties vs lefty pitching. Konerko and Lee can hold their own vs rhp, but Jose and Harris struggle vs lhp.

Wow, great win! I love DJ's call of "game" when Joe hit it. Luckily, the ump didnt give Urbina anything on the outside corner.
-
I would love to see Borchard get a chance to hit for Sandy. At least w/Borchard, if he hits it well, it's gone.
-
Is it safe to say that Carlos is the leader of this team right now? He's playing with poise and confidence I've never seen before.
-
Should I be applauding Alomar for a terrible game so far? Ozzie had a fairly simple decision to make, and he didnt make it. With guys on 2nd and 3rd, no outs, Ozzie should have had Gload ph for Sandy. Then, if the Tigers bring in a lefty, you have Burke ph for Gload. Burke is a very good opposite field hitter, which is what we needed in that situation. Instead, Sandy hit a grounder to the left side, which is his trademark now.
-
Ozzie should feel free to manage sometime this game. Why not have Uribe ph for Jose there? Walker is way tougher on lefties than he is righties. Thanks Sandy, you SUCK!
-
No excuse for Sandy to be batting in that situation. Why can't Sandy go on the DL for some more knee surgery!! He's so freaking awful.
-
Everyone knows that the book on Uribe says that he's a very streaky player that can either get very hot or very cold. Yesterday, he went 2-4 w/a homer, yet he's not in the line-up tonight. Uribe needs to be in the line-up as much as possible if he's hitting good at the plate. especially with Maggs and Frank out.

In regards to the wild card, it seems almost impossible that the White Sox could finish ahead of the Red Sox or A's without Ordonez and Thomas. This current sox lineup is not impressive, which happens when you're missing your 2 best hitters. I'd really like to see Borchard in RF for the next week, and then trade for a RF if he continues to struggle in the majors. Timo asd your everyday RF will not equal playoffs.
-
Time to get another starter Kenny. Schoeneweis is terrible. Our catchers could hit a homer off of him.
-
Ozzie played into the Tigers hands that inning by having Sandy bunt. Any chance of a big inning was lost, even if Sandy got the bunt down. With the current lineup we have right now, the Sox can't afford ot give up a lot of outs.
