White Sox @ Royal-ly Garbage 4-22-05
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) :headshake Trammell pulls Maroth after 75 pitches and Kyle Farnsworthless blows the lead in the 7th. T. Hunter has 10 steals already.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) Is Garcia missing his spots again? No, he just doesn't have very electric stuff. He's not fooling hitters with anything.

Good job by Garcia keeping the Royals to one run that inning.

Show some f'n range Crede. Two plays he could have made have resulted in a lot of trouble for Garcia.....who has still looks to not have anywhere close to his best stuff (again).

QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) I'm still very dissapointed with how Dye and Rowand have hit so far this year. Rowand's just swinging at every pitch right now, even if it's a slider 2 feet off the plate. He'll stick destroy lefty pitching, but his effort against righties this season has been poor.

Very nice to see Iguchi finally beat out an infield single. I expected him to be faster than he is, but I'm pleased with his adjustments he seems to be making.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) Jermaine "The Rally Killer" Dye. :banghead Yes, that was a terrible at-bat by Dye. I really don't like his chances against rhp. Also, does it seem like Garcia never throws his splitter/changeup anymore? He seems like a total two pitch pitcher now.

Game Thread 4-20 Sox VS. Detroit
Sox continue to make way too many outs on the bases.

Game thread 4-19 Sox .vs. Twinkees
However, Shingo's fastball was quick enough that if players were sitting on his slow stuff, he could get it past them. Shingo threw more fastballs past people than almost anyone else on our staff last year......who f***ing cares, IT'S OVER!

QUOTE(shagar69 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:40 AM) f***in A. why didnt hermy stay in Cause Ozzie's trying to instill confident into Shingo, even though he can't throw a fastball over 85 mph. I said it earlier this year.....Japanese pitchers lose their fastballs quickly, considering the enormous amount of pitches they throw growing up.

God damn Ozzie. Keep Shingo out of these f***ing games! He obviously has nothing left, yet you keep giving the other team a chance by putting him out there.

Shingo has no fastball anymore. It's pretty obvious.

If Lecroy gets on base here, Marte better be in to face Mauer.

Buehrle is as good as anyone in the field, especially considering how he holds on runners.

Shingo is warming up....which of course worries me. I think Hermanson should be left in, and he can be taken out if he struggles for either Shingo or Marte. Shingo can't be allowed to face Mauer in the 9th.

Great, great pitch by Hermanson to Ford there. Perfect pitch to get a double play ball.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:17 AM) I said it in the chat, but I'll say it here -- Ozzie's delegating Marte to LOOGY roles pisses me off. He's clearly been our best reliever the past three seasons, and it's bulls*** that he's getting so few innings... I completely agree. Marte should have been in to face Jones in the 8th inning. Hermanson struggles against lefty batters, and Marte's one of the best in baseball against lefties. If you're going to use him as a loogy, at least use him properly.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) I think he overslid the base, and then he tagged him. Doesn't really matter anymore. Rivas never tagged Rowand after he slid past 2nd. Rowand should have been safe, but that's a very tough call for the umpire to have to watch both the tag and the hand on the base. Just my view on the call.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) Row looked out to me, good try though How? When Rivas touched him, Rowand was clearly on the base. Problem is that the umpire wasn't looking to see if Rowand was on the base, he just assumed he had already overslid 2nd base.

Great catch by Hunter there. Definitely made up for his misplay earlier.

Game thread 4-19 Sox .vs. Twinkees
Bad call, Rowand was on the base when he was tagged by the umpire. 3 straight games now in which we got f'd over by a base umpire.

QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) You know, it's not like most of the time bringing in a reliever will necessarily stop a run from being scored... I totally agree with that, but when a hitter is seeing a pitcher for the 4th time in a game, and the pitcher is tiring, then it's usually a better bet to go to the fresh pitcher who the batter hasn't seen that game. It just seemed like last year, the starting pitcher for the Sox always seemed to give up a hit to his last batter in a big situation.

WOW! Amazing job by Hernandez to get out of these jams. Why can't Timo use two hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) I think someone has a "gut feeling" that Hernandez will not implode on us Lets hope it's not another case where Ozzie's one batter too late......again.

Hernandez throwing junk up to the plate again. He's not using his fastball to set up his other pitches, and the Twins are just sitting on the slow stuff. I'd like to see Politte brought in here.
