Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
I'm pretty sure the Sox hold an option on Ozzie's contract after this season, and if the Sox don't make the playoffs, I really hope that they don't bring his ass back. He' shown me nothing in terms of in-game managing, and he still hasn't learned to shut his f***ing mouth. He's one of the worst managers I've ever seen at having a feel for when he should take pitchers out. He consistently waits one batter too long to take the starter out.

Minor tweak for the lineup
No matter what, Everett is not an outfielder. He played one inning out there this year, and not only did he hurt himself, he played a huge part in causing the Sox to lose a very winnable game.

f*** that....terrible managing by Ozzie....yet again. You can't make the last out trying to steal a f***ing base. Nice to see our former players (Olivo, Valdez) beat us today.

Can Ozuna hit the ball out of the infield?

This was exactly the situation I was talking about earlier about having another righty bat off the bench with some power. There's no reason to have both Gload and Timo on the team right now

f***! I thought that ball was gone off the bat.

If Juan can look to right centerfield against Eddie G., he can end this game with a homer.

Well, A.J. and Dye have sure sucked lately. A.J.'s inability to block an easy pitch in the dirt was a big catalyst in Seattle's 3 run inning.

A.J....speed up your bat speed!

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) That 3-1 to Aaron was some serious bulls*** No kidding, I had a post already to go up, but figured to delete it once Rowand got the hit.

Eddie Guardado has no chance getting Rowand out. He's the perfect pitcher for Rowand's swing.

Dye is f***ing terrible right now. Just looks like he has no chance to be dangerous at the plate.

Putz has given the Sox hitters some great pitches to hit. Sadly, I have no confidence in Dye right now though.

Another big break for the Sox there.

Everett's swinging all or nothing. A hit would be just fine.

Huge break for Sox there as Putz should have easily fielded that ball.

Politte looks to actually have better stuff this year than he did last year. However, his fastball today also exemplifies how bad Garcia's fastball was. I'd say Cliff is throwing 5 mph faster than Garcia was today.

Interesting that Ozuna is now 2-13, with both hits being bunts. We definitely need another right handed hitting outfielder off the bench, especially for situations in which we need a player to drive the ball.

I really hope Podsednik is able to play tomorrow. The Twins seem to be playing a lot better than they were the first few games we played them last week.

This is exactly what I was talking about in regards to too many easy outs in the lineup. Crede weakly pops up a hanging curve on the first pitch, and then Uribe grounds out 2 pitches later. Thus, you have 2 outs on 3 pitches by the bottom of our order. Not exactly the type of at-bats you want to see by your 8/9 hitters.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) Players seem to love Ozzie. I don't think there is much of a doubt that Ozzie backs his players. If Ozzie needs to handle that situation for Carl, then Carl needs to grow up. But, I do think Carl kept his cool there for the most part. I just don't like Ozzie risking Everett getting tossed out of the game by just sitting there in the dugout. We're not exactly loaded with offensive talent in our lineup right now. Everett's one of our few dangerous hitters right now.

Mariners @ Sox Game Thread (4/17, 2:05 p.m. CT)
It's going to be a long year offensively if we don't start drawing more walks. Too many easy outs in our lineup on a daily basis is trouble (BTW, I've been saying that even after games that we won. Smallball = low scoring baseball....not exactly something that works well in a hitter's park).

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) Getting kicked out is overrated. No, but sticking up for your players is underrated. Ozzie left Everett out alone on the field there. Carl doesn't exactly have the best reputation for maintaining his cool. That call was awful, but it was bulls*** that Ozzie just sat on his ass
-
Mariners @ Sox Game Thread (4/17, 2:05 p.m. CT)
I'd like to see Ozzie get ejected one time sticking up for his players.
-
Mariners @ Sox Game Thread (4/17, 2:05 p.m. CT)
Terrible f***ing call by the umpire. Ozzie should get tossed on that play. Everett wasn't close to swinging on that.
