I believe someone pointed out that he was in the complex league and they are done so his season was done anyway.

it does make for some new cannon fodder for this iffy trade.

He played the last few weeks at A level

  2. It may have been mentioned in another thread but I haven't seen it so sorry if redundant.  Albertus has a stress fracture/rxn in his left tibia and has been shut down for the year.  He is expected to be ready to play next spring.....................................

  3. The numbers were so good I just figure it is worth following.  For a guy with more walks than Ks to switch to 20/1 is something.  Heck if it continues he may decide he likes relief or like a Reylondo guy , maybe is better as a starter in the future.  Speaking of Lopez, is anyone aware of anything explaining his success this year?

  4. Have we tried Benitendi at catcher yet, like TA?

I found a positive!  I believe we may have secured the #1 pick in the 2026 draft.  JR won't spend after a year of horrible revenue so not a lot of adds beyond scrap heap.  Seriously, we should sign no one until prices drop in Feb-March with promise of "if you play well we will trade you".  Mottos "Yes, we are this bad"    "Think we couldn't be worse, think again!"

    "Bad teams deserve new stadiums".

  5. I was looking at prospects and how several of ours have been struggling.  Pallette was moved to the bullpen recently.  I understand small sample sizes but....... before the move his last four starts yielded

    12.6 IP,   21H,  16 ER, 9 W, 8K.       post move to bullpen , he has six appearances

    11.6 IP,    6H.      2 ER,  1W, 20K

Again, small sample sizes, but that is a dramatic difference.  Like, really dramatic.  Is it the role?  Did he get pissed with the change?  Did something click or is he doing something different?  I haven't been watching the games so has anyone heard or noticed anything?    Kelley and Dalquist have both been much better in the pen as well.  A major league reliever would be disappointing but a lot better than nothing or after some success could they possibly get another starting shot?

  6. I looked at a lot of our flip/toss candidates.  Pham, DeJong etc.  lots of awful ops numbers over the last month or so.  The losing streak and pre play has some .500 OPS numbers.  Not sure you will get much.  Looking more like a waiver claim or DFA which I wouldn't be against.  Dump em and let some younger guys like Sosa know they have a long leash.

  7. Davis Martin was scheduled to pitch earlier in the day. Instead he went to Chi as insurance (Feede scheduled 7/27). Eder may not have realized he was pitching and got shelled/no control. 3.1 innings,7 walks. Perhaps explains it?  Still 4 days rest but had 5-6 days between previously. Maybe different routines.

Hoping he can make it work in the bullpen at least.

I saw his line and first thought was reinjured.  Hopefully not though weird to hope just a bad outing.

I really hope Taylor gets in a solid 85 innings next year. This was a bit of a punt year for him, but I look forward to see who moves faster next year between him and Smith.

I bet barring further injury, Taylor gets some time in the fall league.  He is at 19.1 innings and looked like 4 innings was his max.    He was moved to the 60 day DL on 6/12 so roughly Aug 12 if all goes well.  He might get another 20-30 innings counting fall.  Think 85-100 in 2025 between A-A+. Not pushing the level may allow more innings since less stress?   Maybe to 125 in 2026 between A+ and AA.  If he is healthy and doing well perhaps things accelerate and he gets to AAA in 2026.  If that is a reasonable plan goal, I wouldn't push him to MLB when he is hitting his max innings.  MLB 2027? looking at 150 or so innings.   If you know next year is noncompetitive at the MLB level, we should prioritize health over pushing people to the MLB level.
