QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 02:22 PM) Already hate Frank TV. Will not watch out of spite. Doing the same impersonations only get you so far. Personally, I won't watch FrankTV because it's f***ing garbage but that's just me.

QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) ROY ? Why isn't it Galarraga ? On on hand you have a 26 year old starter who put up good but unspectacular numbers while pitching for an awful (last place) team in a big time pitcher's park and on the other you have a couple of position players who put up some pretty big time numbers, and contributed in the clutch while leading their teams to division titles. A rookie starting pitcher with a 3.73 ERA on a last place team isn't going to get many votes when his main competition is superior position players on 1st place teams. I'd give it to Mike Aviles before Armando Galarraga.

A .499 SLG and .873 OPS for the tremendously overrated Justin Morneau. A f***ing firstbaseman with a sub .500 SLG might win the MVP, Mark Grace is smiling somewhere. A .146/.239/.195/.434 line w/ 1 RBI in the final 2 weeks of the season for Mr. Morneau, coming up big when his team needed him the most, lending a helping hand in burying his own team. Gotta love that 0fer he had yesterday in the biggest game of the year, the man wasn't even a threat, he looked pathetic.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 11:22 AM) I don't think you'll see Swisher in left if Griffey is in center......as you need someone with range on the corners to help Jr out. If BA or Jr would be comfortable in LF, i'd love to see those two with Dye manning the grass...but I'm not sure if this is an option. Outside of that, I think you'll see Wise-Jr.-Dye......I just hope that Wise is moved down in the lineup. I'd rather see AJ batting second than him. What good does Wise's speed do if he can't read the ball off the bat? The man gets some horrendous jumps.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 02:44 AM) I do agree with you. I told a guy I was watching the game with it was like we had 8 guys in the lineup cause he was an automatic out. Now that we're in, if I was Oz I'd go back to Swish and see if we catch the Swish KW thought he was getting. Wise really isn't doing much though he did draw two walks on Monday I believe, or was it Sunday? I see no reason why he wouldn't go back to Swish except for having the "threat" of speed in our order. Swish is another plodder. I wouldn't call Swisher a plodder, he's certainly not blazing fast but he's not slow either. He can score from first on a double, score from second on a single or go from first to 3rd on a single. He can move if need be.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 02:16 AM) Sox should be very loose going in. I mean after what they've been through, this is gravy, they are playing with the house's money. Javy should be loose as well. As far as Swish playing ... I don't like Wise, but is there a method to Oz's madness? Wise does have some speed. Pardon my ignorance, but I assume those wanting Swish back in there want him to play lf for Wise? Obviously Paulie needs to play and Griffey is in cf now. Yes, Swisher in LF over Wise. Dewayne has nice speed and all but he's an awful defender and is 3 for 31 since game 2 in KC. Plus he's proven himself to be an asset off the bench late in games. His abilities and deficiencies make him a better fit off the bench, it's actually kind of embarrassing having him out there.

TBSHD is outstanding. They have by far the best looking on screen graphics of any broadcast and their HD is just terrific, kicks the living s*** out of FOX. Personally, I couldn't be happier with their presentation.

According to Brooks Boyer the rally towels being handed out on Sunday will be white. So if the blackout does continue through the playoffs we'll see a nice contrast between towel and person.

The Umpiring Crew for the Sox/Rays Division Series will consist of Joe West, Gary Darling, Jeff Kellogg, CB Bucknor, Eric Cooper and Ron Kulpa. Personally, I f***ing hate Joe West.

QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 10:25 PM) The experts at BBTN just unanimously picked the Rays in this series. 2006 NFC Championship game Bears vs Saints: Just sayin'

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) No backup IFs? Seeing as how Uribe and Alexei can both play 2B, SS and 3B all you really need is the 3B backup in Fields.

Ozzie is a little out of it right now but he pretty much just said Vazquez will start game 1 in Tampa.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) How's that for clutch? Dips***s. I've never yelled loader in my life than I did on that Thome bomb and I think you of all people can understand why.

Justin Morneau is a f***ing hack. John Danks on the other hand is a f***ing stud. Such a pleasure to watch.
-
AJ Pierzynski does not drop the f***ing ball. Hell of a throw by Junior.

Justin Morneau is a f***ing hack.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 06:59 PM) and a top 3 closer And one of the best leadoff men in the game.

Harold Reynolds is so full of s***. So he wants Gardenhire to be the manager of the year and Morneau to be the MVP of the league? His justification for picking Gardenhire is that he's gotten the absolute most out of his talentless loser team, except they have the f***ing most valuable player in the middle of their f***ing lineup, so how can that be? It would be pretty funny if Morneau and Howard took home the MVP awards this year. A couple of sub .890 OPS 1B being awarded as the most valuable players in the game, talk about a s*** season for the MVP race.
-
f*** Justin Morneau. I'm seriously beginning to hate this f***ing guy.
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) Not many people steal two MVPs in their career, but if he wins it this year then he'd have done it. Yep, agreed completely.

Pujols Santana Soto Pujols has been so much better than the rest of the league (save Manny over the past 2 months) that I can't in good conscience go with anyone else.

Regular season

Carlos Quentin even with having missed a full month, is still a FAR FAR FAR more deserving of MVP consideration than Justin Morneau. Why should Quentin missing a month hurt him when Morneau has done absolutely NOTHING during Quentin's absence. Give it to Pedroia, he deserves it but Justin Morneau shouldn't even be in the top 3.
-
Justin Morneau deserves NOTHING. Gotta love that .250/.306/.410/.716 September line or his .180/.242/.230/.472 line over his last 15 games when his team has needed him most. An .877 OPS first baseman? Give me f***ing break. If he wasn't getting BY FAR the most RBI opportunities of any AL MVP contender he wouldn't even be mentioned. Pedroia gets my vote by default.

My stomach is in f***ing knots. This game can not start soon enough.
