I think I say this on behalf of most of the people here...

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) Tickets are already paid for. The empty seats will speak a warning that if imrpovements are not made, the sea of empty seat will be back on the southside. Yeah, season tickets are paid for. I hope they sell out every game for the rest of the season. Empty seats will not do a damn thing to help this team in the future. -

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) I hope they do not win another game the rest of the year and the park is empty for home games. Mgnt f***ed this season up. f*** that. I kind of like having a nice high payroll, home attendance is incredibly important. -
And that's pretty much a White Sox season...

Now we wait with cautious optimism. -
AND LET THE FIRESALE BEGIN!!!

Should be interesting if Buehrle is seen hugging teammates after the game.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) Eastern Time I assume? Thats in 9 minutes. 6:15 eastern. I adjusted to CT for your convenience.

Pawtucket plays at Louisville tonight at 5:15. Should be interesting to see if anyone is held out of the starting lineup or pulled during the game.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) I said that I said it's dumb to swing 2-0. I didn't say that you said it's dumb to swing 2-0 95% of the time you're getting a fastball over the plate on 2-0 it's usually the best pitch to hit in the sequence.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) Would you agree that Logan's loogy ability might be the best thing we've seen from the team this year? That and Josh Fields uncanny ability to miss every fastball by 3-4 inches.

I think Andy Gonzalez may have taken over as my most hated Sox player. Dude is everywhere when in reality he should be no where.

QUOTE(southsida86 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) BS. Buehrle left the first game against the Cubs with a 3-1 lead and runners on 1st and 2nd. They both scored. I'm sure that he has had more runs charged to him after he left the game countless other times this season. No you're right Buehrle is 2, Garland is 1. I did the research, a grand total of 2 inherited runners have scored for Buehrle this season and both came in the same game. Feel free to double check my work, you can go through gamelogs at baseballreference.com and check for yourself. Buehrle has a tendency to leave games after finishing out the inning, he doesn't leave a lot of runners on base once he's pulled. It's a false theory.

Crisp is guaranteed $11M over the next two seasons and hasn't shown even a mediocre batter's eye since 2005. I want no part of that.
-
QUOTE(southsida86 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 02:14 PM) IMO if you make this trade Buchholz has to be involved. If this team had any sort of offense and any sort of bullpen then Buehrle would have about 9 wins and an ERA under 3 because of all of the inherited runners that the bullpen lets score. 1 inherited runner has scored this year.

There isn't a more annoying subject matter in all of sports except maybe steroid speculation.

QUOTE(whitesox94 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) Get Jack Wilson Why would KW want to downgrade the shortstop position? $14.35M guaranteed over the next two seasons for Juan Uribe's equal, fun.

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
Kalapse replied to Kalapse's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) Vazquez won't waive the no trade clause. The only No Trade protection Vazquez has is to 9 west coast teams. -
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) trade him now. buchholz, garland, danks, floyd....someone else for 08 Garland will be traded before Javy, that much I'm sure of.
-
You could get plenty for Vazquez but Kenny's not dealing him unless he's overwhelmed.

Oh goody Poppy is back.

QUOTE(southsida86 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:13 AM) I misunderstood the top 20% thing. I thought that in order for a player to qualify as a type A free agent they had to be top 20% in all of baseball, players already under contract included. However what you said makes more sense now that I think about it because how in the hell would Frank Catallanato(sp?) be considered a type A free agent if that was the case? If it were top 20% in all of baseball there would be 2 or 3 sandwich picks every year as opposed to the 30 or so there are now. Yeah, I'm not sure there's going to be much of an issue when it comes to Mark and Jermaine's compensatory value.
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:11 AM) you mean after next season, right? No, after this season. Just offer him more money than he's making in Tampa. I'm sure he'll take it.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 11:39 PM) We'll be in last place soon. I give it 2 weeks tops. Even that might be a lot. That series in KC before the break could be HUGE!
-
QUOTE(southsida86 @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 11:45 PM) And the reason why Buehrle isn't going to be a Type A free agent. Mark had a 5 ERA last season, and only won 12 games while striking out 98 batters the whole season. He'll probably have a 3.30-3.50 ERA and 8-11 wins this year with 12-14 losses based on horrible run support. If we don't trade him, and he walks we'll lose him for nothing. Kenny has to make a final offer within the coming weeks and if he declines, then adios, and thanks for the memories. There's going to be a grand total of 3 very good free agent starting pitchers on the market after this season, Buehrle, Zambrano and Jennings, it isn't exactly stiff competition. Meaning all Buehrle has to do is fall within the top 20 percent of free agent starting pitchers (or is it pitchers? I'm not sure not that it matters there aren't many good relievers either) to qualify as a Type A free agent . A typical Buehrle season this year should put him in the top 20%.

I actually like the idea of signing Crawford in the offseason, I'm surprised no one else had come up with that until now. Seems like a good fit.
