  1. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:21 AM) Erstad made a couple good catches today in center....and if i recall Brian looked awfull the other day at the plate. I do think we should bring him in for defense in the ninth for pods, but he looked lost at the plate. Darrin can work some walks, and plays great D. Nice win today though, the lead off man thing for the tribe sucked. I hate starting the inning like that. JD looks like hes back, as soon as paulie starts to hit we will be on fire. NICE WIN!!! and hey Johan lost at home for the first time since Aug 1st 2005 I know, we should definitely expect more from the Anderson in the 3 at bats he gets every week, I don't see reason why he shouldn't be sharp for that 1 start he gets every week. I do agree though, Erstad's 4 BB and .294 OBP this season are kicking some serious ass atop the order. Oh and he's obviously the best defensive centerfielder on the team, 12 years of wear and tear on his body and a few dozen surgeries aside.
  2. Joe Randa was a bonafide Sox killer and the constant smiling only made it worse. He'd get a big hit then give one of those big joker like grins that he loved so much. Asshole.
  3. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) poor Brian Yeah I know, I feel sorry for the guy as well. It's really a shame that they're stunting his growth by hiding him in the clubhouse 9 out of every 10 games. Good to see we can agree on this.
  4. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) Everything's a joke to him...no wonder he's not playing... All the more reason to demote him and call up Terrero, I heard luis has NO sense of humor.
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) have you bothered looking at Erstad's numbers lately? He sucks. 29 AB .207 avg, .604 OPS, 18 or so weak groundouts. 1 for his last 16 w/ 5 K
  6. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) Almost useless to put him in LF though. Might as well put him in CF with Erstad moving over, which I think is most ideal. I agree completely. Anyway you slice it, there's no reason for Podsednik to be in the game in the bottom of the 9th. It just bugs me because I have no idea why Ozzie keeps going back on his word, he says one thing and does the opposite. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) I wonder if Ozzie just told him to stay in Chicago. He was hanging on the railing laughing it up with Garland in the bottom of the 9th.
  7. Back of the order was great. Uribe's defense was s***. Top of the order was pathetic. Javy was damn good. Bullpen was outstanding, outside of Sisco. Aardsma continues to be amazing out of the pen what is that 11 K in 7.6 IP? Excellently managed 8.5 innings by Ozzie today. Well played game in all.
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) If you honestly don't think Anderson can out play Erstad and Pods defensively, and/or don't think Anderson can match Erstad's offensive ability, I really have to question your knowledge of baseball. It's not even about offensive production it's about putting your best defensive ballclub possible on the field in the 9th. Can anyone honestly say that Dye and Podsednik are better defenders than Anderson? I think it's a fair question to ask why the f*** Anderson is even on this team.
  9. Ugh, Jenks is still tossing it up there in the low 90's and throwing everyday probably won't help that. I'm not all that concerned since MacDougal is waiting in the wings just in case. Good win.
  10. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) listening to everyone round here you'd think that brian anderson is the second coming of hank aaron. Why would you say that?
  11. I just don't understand how he could manage a damn good game today then pull this s*** AGAIN in the 9th. I'd really like an explanation.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) Ok, send Anderson down to AAA. No s***. I really don't understand why he's doing this.
  13. Most likely scenarios: 1.) LF: Pods CF: Erstad 2.) LF: Anderson CF: Erstad 3.) LF: Erstad CF: Anderson
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:06 PM) I would imagine if he didn't do it on Tuesday, he's probably not going to do it tonight. Exactly, I see no reason why Ozzie would make a defensive substitution in the bottom of the 9th, there's no precedent.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) but now you replace him in the bottom of the 9th. Bet you he doesn't.
  16. QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 08:40 PM) I'm watchin on this piece of crap streamed s***...and it sure looked like it was eerily similar to the ball the other nite and hit at the base of the wall. Well, I can assure you this one hit about 2/3 the way up the LF wall. He had no shot.
  17. QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 08:37 PM) now correct me if I'm wrong...but wasn't that a friggin catchable ball?!? Goddamn Pods. Not unless Podsednik is 15 feet tall.
  18. Iguchi just looks terrible right now. Someone should let him know it's a contract year.
  19. Does Erstad have a single hit this season on a ball down in the zone?
  20. And Juan continues his big season.
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 07:09 PM) Some people are so spoiled its sick. He not only has 2 rings, but has one of the best records in baseball over the last 4 years. But yeah, Ozzie is stupid, a horrible manager, blah blah blah. No manager ever makes mistakes........duh!!! You certainly enjoy overreacting don't you? Perhaps you shouldn't take this s*** so personally?
  22. QUOTE(bigruss22 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 07:11 PM) im jsut saying that if somebody is going to blame erstads batting average, or hitting in general, for the sox losing/sucking, then they should also blame other "underperformers", Dye and Iguchi have had even less success than erstad so far this season so they should be blamed for atleast the same amount for the white sox's failures Yeah, that never happened.
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 07:06 PM) What about the 12 straight seasons with sell outs or something like that? You mean back when they were winning division titles and destroying teams with the best offense in baseball? Yeah, they showed up then. They stopped showing up though the second the Indians started their 'rebuilding' years.
  24. QUOTE(bigruss22 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 07:05 PM) not under the spotlight??? they should be leading the team, they were catalysts to our success and now they dont need to perform? i dont get that, every player is under the sportlight, it doesnt matter if your with the freakin nationals, every player needs to perform or they will lose their job Ok and Erstad isn't really doing as well as some hoped. What's wrong with posting his s***ty batting average? And by spotlight, I mean the whole OF situation and this board in particular.
  25. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 07:04 PM) Why is it so empty there? It's 49 degrees. It's Cleveland, they don't actually give a s*** about the Indians there. Hence the 25th best attendance in basebal last season.
