QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) I appreciate his efforts here, but I honestly could care less about how much he's helping Oakland. Congrats, seems you're in the minority. -

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) Okay...that still doesn't answer my question. Why should anyone here care what Frank is doing this season? I care. Mainly because he played 15 seasons with the team and is a White Sox fan favorite. Sure seems like you're the only one who has a problem with it. -
#55 and #56 have both been launched out of the park tonight. He is now 6 homeruns away from breaking Roger Maris' single season record of 61 homeruns.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) It really seems like our #1 and 2 hitter never get a hit anymore. It "seems" that way because they don't. -

QUOTE(Dan @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Byrd is junk? He throws all breaking s***, nothing hard that makes him a "junk ball" pitcher. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) The Indians aren't done scoring, so it would really benefit the Sox to wake up the bats now, and not in the 6th or 7th inning. I'm eagerly anticipating Uribe trying to break out of his 20 AB hitless streak against a junk pitcher. By games end Brian Anderson will have a higher batting average than Juan Uribe. -

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) For a good starting pitcher? I think he'd do it in a second. He almost traded Konerko for Washburn 2 or 3 years ago. That's before Konerko became the team captain, the face of the club and recieved a $12M a year salary. Pauly is here for the long haul. -

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 07:39 PM) I am feeling good about Freddy tonight. I'm thinking seven strong. Well based on the first few pitches of this game, I'm thinking the offense is going to have to go to town on Byrd tonight. -

Today's Lineups: Dergen, LF Cintron, 2B Dye, RF Thome, DH Konerko, 1B Pierzynski, C Mackowiak, 3B Sweeney, CF Uribe, SS Mad Dog, SP Sizemore, CF Michaels, LF Martinez, DH Garko, 1B Choo, RF Luna, SS Inglett, 2B Shoppach, C Marte, 3B Byrd, SP No Crede, Iguchi, Anderson for the Sox No Hafner for the Indians -
I have absolutely NO interest in Ryan Freel. He's a fun little player and all but his off the field s*** is just insane. He's an alcoholic drug user with multiple DUI convictions and has an imaginary midget named Farney who lives in his f***ing head.

QUOTE(Duck @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 05:28 PM) He brought up Sweeney to play him so he might just be platooning those two from here on out unless Sweeney looks overmatched which I doubt he will be. I'd probably rather see Pods sit. He's going to go with whoever is hot, and before you point out that Sweeney was 0-6 he hit 3 line drives right at guys last time out. He's been platooning Anderson even while he was one of the hottest hitters on the team in August this being before Sweeney was even called up. I have no problem with Ozzie starting Sweeney, I love to see him hit it just doesn't make much sense to me for Ryan to get ABs at the expense of Brian Anderson especially when the Sox are lacking a starting LF and Sweeney is MUCH better in LF than he is in CF.

The Dirty Commie rides the pine pony with Ozzie Guillen III taking his spot in CF. Crede gets a second day to recover, Mack takes his spot. Iguchi gets a day off with Alex Cintron filling in at 2B. -
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) What the hell is it with you and all the smilie posts? It's called spam.

QUOTE(Duck @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Despite all the talk about "throwing guys under the bus", Ozzie stuck with Anderson this year and he seems to have turned the corner (which is why Ozzie is now playing bad cop because he knows BA can take it), he insisted Garland extend himself in games in 2004 and 2005 and it's paid off big time. Well, if Ozzie stuck with Anderson and he has now seemingly turned the corner (including 2 hits yesterday) then why does he continue to platoon him in CF? Anderson goes 2-4 yesterday and yet he's benched in favor of Ryan Sweeney today. Wouldn't he want to sit back and enjoy the fruit of his labor and play Anderson everyday?

QUOTE(WCSox @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) Well, I obviously don't have all of the positions covered. The Sox could certainly use a leadoff hitter, but there isn't a guy currently in the organization (besides Pods) who would fit that role. Iguchi would be the closest, IMO. Platooning Sweeney with Mackowiak would ease Sweeney into role and take pressure off of him, although it's not necessary. I don't see the problem with platooning two lefties as long as Gload is still on the bench. You'd be platooning 2 lefties who don't hit left hand pitching all that well so basically you're going with the automatic out against a left hand pitcher.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) HOW ABOUT THE SOX ACQUIRE A 4TH OUTFIELDER WHO CAN PLAY NUMEROUS OUTFIELD POSITIONS AND BAT RIGHTY!!!!! How great does Brady Clark's .363 OBP look right about now?
