  2. Sox needed to save a couple of runs from last night.
  3. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) and his family. My god this isn't just about himself. This is a decision that will affect his family. San Diego is a great city and he might've wanted to have his family be with him in San Diego. Poor Nevin plz multi -millionaire cry for someone else
  4. Latest Gammons update The Fish cannot sign Burnett away from free agency, and the fireballing right-hander has made it clear that he probably wouldn't sign an extension with the White Sox but would with the Red Sox if the money is right. The White Sox have the best record in baseball without Burnett. The Red Sox lead the AL East by 1½ games and essentially haven't had their most important 300 innings -- the combination of Curt Schilling as a No. 1 starter and Keith Foulke as a premier closer. A month from now, as they prepare to play 24 of their last 36 games at Fenway Park, they could have Schilling and Foulke in place. Still, both the White Sox and Red Sox keep thinking that October is the power pitching month, and that Burnett, along with Rich Harden, might have the best stuff in the game. Of course, the Marlins know that, and are just two years removed from seeing how important his stuff is in October.
  5. Nobody wants to trade for Shingo
  6. Hell NO can't play defense and hits HR or SO
  7. What will not change is their policy of not televising regular-season home games. But Peter Wirtz said that if the Hawks make the playoffs this season, all of their postseason games—including home games—would be televised. For the last couple of seasons, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has talked about how the ability of televising games in high-definition will raise the profile of the league and help create a new generation of fans. The Hawks are partners with Comcast SportsNet, which televises home—but not road—White Sox, Cubs and Bulls games in high-definition. So the Hawks, playing in the NHL's third-largest market, will not have their games broadcast in high-definition. The elder Wirtz again defended his policy of keeping home games off television. "For 30 years, people ask the same question," Wirtz said. "Everyone has their own point of view and we have ours."
  8. KC is horrid team with no hope........And I love it.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Flat out the Padres fans are very very upset with Nevin. This is the 2nd time Nevin has nixed a deal as he was dealt for Griffey two offseasons ago. I will say a SD player will NEVER again get a no trade clause again....Nevin only cares about himself.
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) Peter Gammons knows nothing except for Boston s***. He seems to be never right. If we are really talking contract with AJ Burnett then a deal has already been agreed to and we are just trying to lock him up for further years. Don't listen to Peter Gammons. He is a big jamoke. Agree just posting what he said.
  11. Gammons on Sportscenter said FLA keeps winning AJ Burnett will NOT be traded.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 11:26 AM) BMAC is an unknown and Marte is a declining bullpen arm. I think he is the worst arm in the whole pen. I dont see how that is getting ripped off. LV is the worst by far.
  13. H.Baines almost 2900 hits and never hyped himself to media true professional.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) Cmon guys...he challenged him with that pitch just a tad high. I think you guys need to embrace Vizcaino a little more than you are. So he was absolutely horrible the first 3 months of the year, he has absolutely turned the corner! I will embrace him out the door :finger LV
  15. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) Viz should not pitch in close games At all in MLB
