  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2014 -> 05:07 PM) Beardless Alexei back to looking like Grace Jones.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2014 -> 04:43 PM) In 8 of their last 12 games, the Sox have scored 1 run or less against the starting pitcher. That is a big time funk.
  3. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 14, 2014 -> 02:47 PM) Unreal as usual.
  4. Hopefully he is healthy rest of the year. Need him leading off badly in this lineup.
  5. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 13, 2014 -> 04:04 PM) I say DFA Keppinger. If he clears, he goes to Birmingham. If not, welp, he's gone! Done but he is not going to Birmingham.
  6. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:43 AM) If they draft a high school player there's little difference in terms of need between a hitter and pitcher seeing how you're looking at 2017-8. There are 3 guys with top shelf talent in this draft then a dropoff, Sox need to take the pitcher left at #3. I have seen enough toolsy guys drafted already by the Sox early and how has that been working out.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 14, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) I don't know that it's that he rubbed somebody the wrong way as much as it was a roster crunch. The only way to fit Keppinger on the roster was to keep LGarcia as both the backup SS and backup OF. Now with Keppinger gone they can keep both Semien and Sierra to fill the two roles. Also, the extra spot on the 40 will be very useful. You may be right, I am just shocked it is so unlike JR to approve this.
  8. There has to be more to this story, for JR to eat rest of contract Jeff had to rub somebody the wrong way. White Sox activated INF Jeff Keppinger from the 15-day disabled list; designated him for assignment. Keppinger is making $4 million this season and is set to make $4.5 million in 2015, so the White Sox are eating a lot of money with this move. The veteran infielder has dealt with shoulder issues since the beginning of last season and the Pale Hose might be convinced that he was never going to be healthy enough again to contribute. They now have an open spot on their 40-man roster. Per Rotoworld
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 13, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) If the Sox draft anyone but a pitcher with the #3 pick, it will be a bad move IMO. If it is not a pitcher somebody should be updating the old resume.
  10. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ May 13, 2014 -> 09:00 PM) And martinez has been great this year, batting .333, better protection than fielder lol wish the sox would have got vmart instead of dunn,oh well I love VM wish he was here next year in Dunn's spot.
  11. Only 1 more game at Oakland in 2014............Thank You
  12. QUOTE (lord chas @ May 13, 2014 -> 09:18 PM) People are sick of hearing Bernstein shove his daily agenda down their throats Bernstein getting the ratings he deserves and I hope they keep going down.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2014 -> 11:48 PM) One of the worst games in a long time for the Sox. Nothing positive has come from this game. Terrible effort all around.
  14. Oakland always brings out the best in Sox.
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 13, 2014 -> 11:44 PM) I really hope they don't give Carroll another start. I'd rather see Johnson/Paulino return. Johnson can get out AAA batters, he needs to go to the majors and throw strikes to MLB hitters. Carroll's dream day against TB has become a nightmare in Oakland. His next start should be in AAA, If someone else is ready.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2014 -> 11:43 PM) Semien had a hit on Saturday. With that said, he's had his chances and has done nothing to earn staying in the majors. Time to go to AAA.
  17. Why have Nieto catch with a day game Wednesday?
  18. Well do Sox even have enough fight tonight to avoid a shutout?
