  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:44 PM) They wouldn't be this bad if they had a pass rush. And that probably has nothing to do with Lovie. Unless, of course, Lovie "motivated" the d-line to get to the QB more. Going from Rod M to Tucker also a difference.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:41 PM) I guess the good thing to take out of this injury is that it's most likely not season ending. Hopefully he will be good after bye week.
  3. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:18 PM) Thank you sir...Cutler hurt Hester!!!! No problem enjoy.
  4. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:07 PM) Anyone help me out with a good stream for us Bears out of towners? vipbox
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:07 PM) Cutler hurt. f***. Going to the locker room dam.
  6. •"Depending on what is considered major," Abreu's signing will probably be the only major White Sox free agent move of the offseason, MLB.com's Scott Merkin writes. The Sox could still make further moves via trades, as Alexei Ramirez and Gordon Beckham have drawn some interest from other teams. An NL executive tells Peter Gammons that while the White Sox may have overpaid for Abreu, they have "one of the half-dozen thinnest farm systems in the game and Abreu doesn’t cost them a draft choice." Gammons also hears mixed reviews of Abreu from a scout and a general manager, though the GM's team still offered Abreu $40MM. Per MLB Rumors This better not be all free agent wise for Hahn and bringing PK back does nothing for me.
  7. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 05:13 PM) Abreu may not start the season with the big club. And having Konerko as a backup/pinch hitter is not necessarily a bad thing. And let's be honest. Keeping him one more year helps sell tickets and merch for a farewell tour. Also of note: Konerko has been known to rejoin the sox after big moves(Thome in 05, Dunn in 10) Abreu at 27 and money spent to get him will be given every chance to be with the team on opening day
  8. Thanks but no thanks. Time to turn the page.
  9. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 12:25 PM) The White Sox have never hit the jackpot in free agency. Ever. Why is this any different? If this (Abreu) guy were as good as people say, wouldn't the Yankees, or Giants, or Rangers, or Cubs been all over him and they would have definitely been willing to outbid the White Sox. Paying him twice as much as Puig.....I'm skeptical. Not trying to be a buzzkill, but there needs to be a separate discussion here of just how unproven this guy is. The White Sox have never been the smartest free agent seekers....If something is too good to be true...it is. I guarantee this guy isn't an all star. Ever?.................................Carlton Fisk says hello. Fisk was 100% jackpot and changed the Sox perception all for the better. ESPN has Fisk listed in the best 18 free agent signings in honorable mention section and yes I know article is dated. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...ntracts/MLBbest
  10. No to PK as a hitting coach, Sox already doing enough on the job training with Ventura.
  11. http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/201...3-carlos-rodon/ Per Baseball America Says 2014 class best since 2011.
  12. Hawks PP still looking bad. ..............2 PP only 2 shots on goal.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 08:20 PM) I'm sure the only time they'll be collectively wrong is when it's good news for our sox. I would hate to see it.
  14. MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan reports that the Rangers are "definitely making a push" to land Cuban first baseman Jose Abreu. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported earlier that Abreu was close to a six-year, $68 million deal, with the White Sox representing his likely landing spot. However, Sullivan was told by one source familiar with the negotiations that the Rangers "are expected to land him." We should know Abreu's ultimately destination soon. Per Rotoworld I do not know what to think at this point!
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 07:38 PM) Holy cripes. Pretty exciting. Much needed excitement.
  16. QUOTE (Baron @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 07:16 PM) I'm not 100 percent on this...but I think once you put your bids in then thats it. Seems to me Sox would just be bidding against themselves, because If someone really wanted him they would of outbid the Sox already.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) Getting excited about the prospect of 150 games of Abreu, Semien, and Avi Garcia. New blood. I am all for new blood...........anyone else think If we sign Abreu that Konerko is history no matter what he decides?
  18. ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Astros have fallen short in the bidding for Cuban first baseman Jose Abreu. Olney hears that the Astros bid between $50-60 million while indications are that the winning bid will be around $70 million. The Red Sox don't expect to sign Abreu, so unless there's a sleeper team in the mix, this leaves the White Sox as the likely favorites. Per Rotoworld
  19. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 11:18 AM) Politicians are becoming more obsolete, it's time to eliminate them. Congress making a deal so they can leave Washington DC and take another long vacation again till after New Years and they will do the dance all over again.
