Maybe the players simply know how little talent there is pushing them from behind in the minors, so they've become complacent, knowing Ventura has no choice but to keep playing them. They all seem to have the oh well attitude and no matter what they do there are no consequences.

Likewise, Law was underwhelmed by third-round center fielder Jacob May but felt that the Sox' fourth-round chioce, Andrew Mitchell, could be a steal if he can develop an effective third pitch.
