High scoring game right now.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 06:41 PM) Me too. As I want the Colts to have to beat their nemesis on the way to the Super Bowl (if they ever get there), plus Indy's at home if New England wins tomorrow. Yeah, your team has two more wins before they can be champions, only halfway there.

My favorite athlete Bo Jackson was playing for the Sox and I stuck with them after he left.

Who knows what would've happened had the ref not blew the whistle on that Ed Reed interception. Might not have changed the outcome of the game but we'll never know.

Way before my time-Getting stuck in the same city as the Cubs, just unfortunate luck. Before my time-The game shorts and disco demolition weren't the smartest ideas. 1994-This isn't just the Sox, but the strike, if I recall correctly Jerry didn't try to stop the strike at all, we had a damn good team too. 1997-White flag trade, sure maybe we wouldn't have ended up winning the division or getting the wild card anyways, but still it was couple months of the season Getting players like Danny Darwin, Doug Drebek, Danny Tartabull, Charlie O'Brien, and Ruben Sierra, all past their prime too.

The Ravens can't afford to get too far behind early.

The first few games will get excellent ratings, then it'll be almost back to normal. Before soccer can become an elite sport in America it might need to over pass hockey to crack the big 5 here.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 9, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) McGwire is completely deserving, imo, and its a sham he isn't in there. The guy was single handedly the greatest power hitter of the last 50 years (although Bonds had an amazing couple year stretch as well). That said, when you look at Big Mac's overall stats, they aren't near as impressive (although the total Hr's are still there and he was possibly the most powerful HR hitter ever cause god could he hit bombs). Plus even if he did juice, they were not banned from the game of baseball (yes they were an illegal substance in the US, but they were not banned from baseball) so I can not possibly hold him out because of that. I'd also like to see him in there but I can see why they won't allow him to be in it because I'm sure they won't allow Palmeiro to get in with his 3000 hits and 500 homers although he was caught for steriods, and they probably won't want Sosa in there either with his 500 homers. -
QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jan 8, 2007 -> 12:09 AM) Did Knoerko ever bat 3rd last season? If he did it was probably only a few games. I'd prefere to see him bat 3rd aslong as he can cut the double plays down. He probably will end up 4th with Thome batting 3rd. And AJ will probably bat ahead of Crede for some reason, but I'd rather see Crede ahead of him.

Chicago writer submits blank HOF ballot
WilliamTell replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This guy is on ESPNews right now and said he didn't vote for them because of the steroid era and because no one has ever had a unanamous vote and he doesn't have a big enough EGO to change that tradition. -

Gwynn and Ripken are HOF class of 2007

Congrats to Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken Jr. Harold Baines squeeked past the mandatory 5% to stay eligible. I was looking at his stats and he finished with 2,866 hits and 384 homeruns. He missed half the year in 1982 apparently and in 1987, 1990, 1993, and 1995 missed a good portion of games aswell. Getting traded every year for a while probably didn't help his cause along with not playing a full season after 1996. -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 8, 2007 -> 09:36 PM) Its strange to say but I still feel OSU has a chance. They just need to stop trying to prove that they can be like an SEC team. Troy Smith also needs to make quicker decisions if he feels the pressure he has to be decisive. i'll go out on a limb and agree with you, but we'll probably be wrong even though I'd like to believe it's not over yet. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 8, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) Tebow proves that he does indeed have an arm... this is probably a stupid question, but I haven't seen enough games, but is Tebow a lefty? -

Florida has a chance to open this game up wide. -
Anna Paquin for me. I don't know why, she's not the typical girl I'd be attracted to, but I am anyways.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jan 8, 2007 -> 08:01 PM) How did that TD stand? There was clear evidence for that not being a touchdown. Pac 10 officials must be blind or something. I thought it wasn't a touchdown when it was live.
