Nooooooo. A great run though.

Where do you stand on Barry Bonds?
WilliamTell replied to greasywheels121's topic in The Diamond Club
I like Barry Bonds, I think he gets a bad wrap but he's also created most of it himself. -
Someone can move this into the War Room if they really want but here's the link to it. My Chiefs get no Monday Night Game this year but they do get to host a 3rd Thanksgiving day game after Detroit and Dallas get done. http://www.nfl.com/schedules

I've never seen a negative number either.

Let's make Mexico the 51st state.

It has to be a joke I think. Unless this person is that sick and that stupid to send an email like that and mean it. None the less the person is stupid for even putting that in an email.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 01:21 PM) I think it is a safe guess that if you gave these folks the options of immigrating legally vs. illegally, almost all of them would choose the legal option. So there is a demand for these workers, there is a supply of these workers, but the system has not adapted to allow the demand to fill the supply. This leaves illegal immigration as 1 option for demand and supply to come back to equilibrium, but the only problem is that it's the most taxing one on all of those other services. I agree with you that probably almost all of them would rather choose the legal option. I'm guessing they're not too hurt in not paying taxes though. Clear up in Iowa I've spoken to a couple of illegal ones that are becoming legal and I'm proud of them, they're nice people. They're learning English and they're contributing to the economy. But I've also seen some very distgruntled immigrants who treat everyone around them bad. I suppose it's just like any other place where you have good people, immigrants or not, and bad people. It was just kinda weird because some guy was yelling at me in Spanish for no apparent reason.

I like to use periods and capital letters for almost off of my posts. Some find this to be annoying but I never think aobut it.

Doesn't immigration come from the word migrate, anyways I said I don't consider either one immigration for the same reasons as you do. Settle down there bud.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) Once again we seem to have lost sight on an important fact, illegals are working jobs that we need done. There are not 12,000,000 out of work, able bodied individuals, willing and able to work these jobs. There are not employers making busy work for people. Most companies have no fat in their operations, that was all so 60s. If we send them packing, who wins? Very few, and we all lose. Bush has the right idea, a guest worker program. The details have to be worked out, but we can't let the rhetoric and overt and covert racism, cause us to cripple our service sector. One of the great things about the US is we have the most peaceful borders in the world. We have vast land borders with few problems. Contrast that to many places in the world, and it is plain to see we have not had to invest much to keep peace with our neighbors. I heard something on the radio. Would people pick lettuce for $5 an hour, the answer is probably no, $50 an hour, most people might say yes. Obviously this isn't very logical, but it's kind of a circular problem the USA has. If people got paid more, you'd have more people doing these kinds of jobs. But they don't, so income the immigrants trying to get a better life for themselves and van load of family. It's a circular problem that we have. I don't mind them coming here, but they need to go by our rules, become a U.S. citizen, learn English, that's all I ask.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) The poster specifies the North American continent, not the United States. Modern Mexicans are descended from indiginous North American lines, albeit with 500 years of outcrossing with invading Europeans. The point of that protest poster is that there were inhabitants of North America prior to 1492. Not that it mattered much to the Europeans who came, saw, and conquered. When you think about it, if I remember right, didn't the Native Americans migrate from Asia. So technically everyone is an immigrant if you feel like going back that far. I prefere not to and I prefere not to consider 1492 immigration either.

I hope Tino Martinez improves through out the season. I wasn't too impressed with him on SportsCenter. He was just talking about the game and idk if he was nervous or what.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) How about this one instead? lol since when have they sided with the Native Americans. Realistically though, most of our ancestors went through Ellis Island or another place like that where we registered. Sure it was probably a lot easier then, but the people coming through now aren't becoming citizens. I have no problem with them become legal citizens.

And this is in America??? Come on the Mexican flag shouldn't even be on a flag pole in this country especially higher than the American flag. There should be no flag that's raised higher in this country than the stars and stripes.

I hope we start just playing our regular players more than rotating them around. Not that it was the reason we lost today.

I didn't think he went. Didn't have a good view though.
