The Bulls should go after Pierre Pierce
-
The painting is a great job but I'm not too into the chick.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:48 AM) However... was there ever a better time to trade durham? though we might have been able to get a bit more, ray has done nothing since he left to make me pine for his return. Yeah that's true. He hasn't been the same especially with running speed. But at least he had a great game against Minnesota last week.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) It was a sad day when Ray got traded for Adkins I did understand the trade. I met Ray at soxfest tons of times. Very Cool guy. I was sad too. He was brought up through the Sox system and just fun to watch play. I loved his home run swing, but only when he hit a home run.
-
Yes I remember that. Makes me very sad. We should've won the division that year with Kenny and Ray batting 1 and 2. Frank had a terrible year though and we had a problem in center field too I think.

Sox vs. Tigers 6/29/05 6:05 CST Gamethread
WilliamTell replied to Capn12's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) It's not about Hermanson, it's about trying to reestablish Shingo as a reliever Ozzie can have some faith in. Look, we have a 10 game lead now with a lot of games to play. If Ozzie waits till someone gets hurt and our lead is cut in half, then there is 10X the pressure on Shingo. If this outing doesn't give Shingo confidence I don't know what does. I thought the Tigers were going to win after I saw Shingo go out for the 13th, but he proved me wrong and it was just great to see him get the win tonight. -
What Former Sox player should have his number
WilliamTell replied to Southside hitmen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I was hoping Robin Ventura would get his. I liked him a lot but it's a stretch to retire his number. -
QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) SI did their midseason MLB report in their most recent issues, and the following awards were won by the following people: AL Manager of the Year - Ozzie Guillen AL Rookie of the Year - Tadahito Iguchi Deserved or undeserved? I really don't like when guys have been playing pro ball in Japan for a few years but are still classified as a rookie when they come to MLB, so I don't think Tadahito deserves the ROY award. You can't go wrong with picking Ozzie. The Sox have the best record in Major League Baseball. And I agree with you, I don't like seeing the Japanese players being rookies, but I'm happy they gave it to Iguchi. lol just pray for no SI jinx here.

Ken Rosenthal picks 5 Sox for All-Star Game...

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) Eh, I guess I'm just a Colts fan that doesn't like that "co-" there. Anyway, any chance Tadahito goes? Soriano is seriously slumping but Roberts is still on fire. Any chance they take 3 2Bs? They did take 4 or 5 SS a few years back IIRC. Yeah that's cool. And as you could probably tell I'm a McNair fan. I do think there should've only been one MVP and that should've been Manning, but I'm just saying McNair wasn't too far off and did a great job for what he had to work with. -

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) Manning in 2003: 379-556 4267 yards 29 TD 10 INT 99.0 QB rating; 2-0 vs. Titans, won AFC South title McNair in 2003: 250-400 3215 yards 24 TD 7 INT 100.4 QB rating; 0-2 vs. Colts, 2nd place AFC South So you're saying a 1.4 point difference in QB rating and 3 less INTs (in less games) makes up for over 1000 less yards, 5 less TD, 2 losses to the Colts, and losing the division title to the Colts? Look at the players McNair had around him. He was just as valuable as Manning was. Not to mention he was hurt basically the whole year. I gave you stats, but stats don't decide who the MVP is. Even though McNair's stats were just as good. -

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) McNair hardly had a MVP worthy year, especially when compared to the other "co-MVP" that year. If Kong added .030 points to his average, everyone would cry snub were he not to make the AS game. He's close to the top in several other stat categories. I don't know where you're getting an MVP year in 2002 according to stats. McNair was a lot better in 2003 than 2002. In 2003 McNair was just as valuable to the Titans has Manning was to the Colts. McNair also had a better QB rating than Manning, a better TD to INT ratio than Manning and more yards per pass attempt than Manning. Honestly, who else did McNair have on offense, just Derrick Mason. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) That's not really bad considering he is also drawing a lot of walks. Rowand has 56 K's and only 15 BB's. :puke It's surprising and that is too. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) Konerko's AVG sucks but he's still productive... .246 AVG .354 OBP .493 SLG .847 OPS 19 HR 53 RBI 42 BB 59 SO He draws a lot of walks and gets on base. If only he wasn't SO DAMN SLOW!!! Wow he almost has 60 strikeout's? -

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) For anyone who doesn't think Konerko deserves an all-star spot, I look at that situation the same way I look at Steve McNair's "co-MVP" of 2 seasons ago. He was royally snubbed the previous year, so they try to make it up by giving it to him the following year. But McNair still had a steller year the next year. I don't think Konerko is really having a steller year. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) People say that every year. He wins 12 every season. It's not like it was a bold prediction to predict a whole 3 more wins from him. I guess I didn't say 15 wins, I was thinking that though. But this is what I said. Dec 14, 2004 -> 10:03 AM Post #2 Carl Everett is in the mix too. Call me crazy but I think Garland is going to have a good year this upcoming year. ..........Oh and I was called crazy too. -

QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) their is not much on the D Backs active roster I would want if they want one of our relievers Yeah me neither. We've been pretty active in the past year with trades or trade rumors. Boy am I glad Garland didn't get traded. I remember saying he was going to win 15 games this year and many laughed at me. -

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) Hurt needs to play every day period I think that, or at least 5 times a week. But I want him to get to 500 homers so the more he plays the quicker he can get there. -

QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Alot of people on this site has no f***in faith in this team.. I see alot of people bashing Ozzie when something going wrong but as soon as the teams wins you dont hear anything from these losers.. Have some faith in the best team in baseball I see where you're coming from. But emotion is probably the biggest reason. Everyone that bashes the Sox on this board still will be fans of them. I did think it was funny how on Frank's 5th at bat everyone was cursing and him but on his 6th at bat he was the hero and everyone was praising him. -
Feels good winning a game that went extra innings. Way to go guys.

I didn't want Shingo or Vizcaino going that many innings, but they gave a gutsy perfomance.
