Nothing like your manager giving them a rally cry, marketing theme. I wonder if the Twins send thank you notes to our team for making it possible. -

Wait till the postgame. When our hitters make Blackburn out to be Johan. HIS PITCHES MOVED. HE DIDNT GROOVE FASTBALLS. HIS 88 MPH fastball was tricky. THE GHOST OF DA DOME. BOO. -

So when Kenny is at the dome looking into our players eyes. Does he get scared by the fear he sees. The sense of loss. The wanting to play golf next week. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 08:13 PM) Our hitters, when fooled, still try to hit in the air. Their hitters, when fooled, know to hit it off the turf and hope for the best. Why would they try to put it in the air. I thought these were line drive hitters who are just strong. -

Dear Whitesox hitters. Blackburn sucks. You can get his scouting report for free up on the Tribune website. It has pretty charts, and all sorts of information. You can also get an MLB video account and watch him pitch a few games as well. -

Line drive approach doesnt slump. -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 04:58 PM) He helped carry this team for over half the season and was an all-star. Some injuries take longer to recover from plus he and the Sox know what the problem with the back is this year. I don't think we ever heard, but he did share that with the Sox. If you think you are right you don't capitulate. However, I will tell you that I don't expect Joe back. Helped carry this team this year. When? And his allstar vote in by the players. That was a nice thank you for previous seasons not this one. There were a few players on the team that deserved the honor over him. Dye and AJ had superior numbers, and there are a few pitchers that should of gotten there as well. The pitching is what carried us in the first half. Not his errors or mediocre bat. God when he is gone the Legend of Aaron Rowand will have company.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 04:26 PM) IMHO, KGJ and Nick Swisher do nothing better than Brian Anderson and Brian Anderson does things better thna both of them. Carry on. Oh and Ozzie is not having a good month either. Ozzie's lineups and personnel decisions are silly at times. Think about this, if not for an injury at the end of ST Jerry Owens would of been crushing the ball all the way to the pitching rubber at least 3 times a week, and Quentin would be on the bench. Anderson can't hit. But he should be out in CF. -

QUOTE (tommy @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) Griffey had 3 RBI's out of 3 we scored last night. I'm not surprised he's in there. I am surprised Ozzie has Dweezy leading off. I was expecting, OC, DW, JD, PK, JT, KG, AJ, AR, JU You must of missed the part where he gave that back where his being old, and not particularly a good defensive CF gave back those runs. I guess we should take the GIDP with men on 1st and third with no outs and coming through in the clutch, and the 2 run dong which he posed for down by 9-1 as a successful offensive night. Pardon me. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) Supposedly Ozzie told the press today that Griffey has been playing good defense lately, so he will stay out there. Thats good defense. Wow, I would hate to see bad defense then. Whats bad defense to Ozzie. Oh I forget, keeping the blonde demon away from the santeria circle of power known as the baseball field. I see, he is a crafty devil that blonde demon. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 03:38 PM) That strut pissed me off. Thats on par with a football team getting destroyed 41-0 iwith a minute left in the 4th quarter and your DT crushes the backup QB and then does the grave digger celebration. -

Nothing like a meaningless dong in the 9th, accompanied with the strut watching it fly, to confuse our manager. You say his defense is bad, then you put him out there. -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 11:38 AM) That's how I think the Sox treated him from the way it looks. They "kicked him out". Joe might need the rest this off season with regular speciifc workouts and I think he willl be back strong in 2009. I hope we at least give it an honest shot at trying to sign him. Juan Uribe is not the full-time answer at 3B, but is as a super sub, and Josh Fields is not my choice at all. You thought the same thing last year, how did that work out. Crede is done with this team. Move on, the sox have.

PETA wants us to enjoy more breast milk
southsideirish71 replied to juddling's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE (juddling @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 10:32 AM) WATERBURY, Vt. -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow's milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk, according to a statement recently released by a PETA spokeswoman. "PETA's request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 percent of the cow's milk in the food he serves," the statement says. PETA officials say a move to human breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health. Today at Arby's when I was half way through my large beef sandwich, I pondered the suffering of the poor cows as they give up their milk. Then remembered I had a half of sandwich left. -
