  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 07:41 PM) Where did Adam Russel disappear to ? Well obviously he didn't pitch for KC so we cant throw him. 2nd grand slam coming.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 07:23 PM) Not good that our hitters are getting jammed by an 86 mph fastball. Lewis throws a lot of hittable pitches it seems. Well an 88 mph fastball gets to be a 94 mph fastball when you dip your back shoulder, add a hitch and try to park the pitch.
  3. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) OC-SS BA-CF JD-RF Thome-DH PK-1B Sexy Lexi-2B AJ-C Swish-LF OOO-REEE-BAY-3B To bad Ozzie didn't have this revelation yesterday.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 12:09 PM) The Twins are nowhere near the team the White Sox are. Put these games at a neutral site and watch what happens. We were 7-2 against these f***ers at our house where we played in a real stadium. It's funny that the Twins need a fast turf and high bounces to succeed while they bloop pop ups down the line. It works, but it's pussyball. Their style of play doesn't work in most baseball stadiums, that's why their road record sucks ass. They're built perfectly for their little dome and turf, we're not. We're old, slow, and love to hit pop ups. We just don't match up well against dome teams period. It's not only the Twins. They're not better than us. We just suck at domes. I pointed this out in another thread. Their offense leads the AL in runs score on the road. So as they are better at it at home, they just dont slap the ball in the ground and pray. Their pitching is Cy Young at home, and medicore away. That is why their road record sucks. Our offense more biased at our home park. Its real simple, their formula of putting the ball in play works, and ours of swing for the fences works from time to time and when the park is hot in the summer.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 10:58 AM) Me too. Question, does anyone else read caps lock as if the other person is shouting? I caught myself doing that... At my company, our European contingent are well known for using ALL CAPS in emails to b**** and to yell. Its kind of funny. I told one guy once, well we will get to the issues in your email. Also we will get someone to your desk ASAP to fix your faulty keyboard.
  6. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 09:25 AM) And yesterday's game where we scored 6 runs? We could have had you in LF and it wouldn't have mattered since the Sox had a five run lead in the fourth and let it go. They choked. It's comical that anyone is arguing otherwise. Just admit it. It doesn't make you any less of a fan. Without Quentin they still have 9 players in the lineup. If Dye, Thome, AJ or Konerko were even mediocre this last week instead of embarrassingly bad this division would be ours. That's why you can use this "Injures = suckage" formula. Honestly, who's to say Quentin would have even had a hit? I hate where this is going. Williams is going to use the smae exact argument as you about injuries and of course you and others will eat it up. Again, who f***ing cares if Charlotte took the field? They had a 2.5 game lead with a week to play, and only needed one win the dome. A win which was more than possible in Game 3 even without Quentin. And let's not act like we were going up against Cy Young candidates. Both Baker and Blackburn respectively looked terribled; especially Blackburn who was hanging pitches on a Kirk Sarloos pace. Also, let's not forget that until about a week ago Wise was hitting the s*** out of the ball and being a damn good replacement for Quentin. How does the loss of Quentin make the rest of the offense shut down. You mean Dye can't function if Q isnt there. Thome can't function. This lineup has had extended suckage as a group all year long. The only stability was Q. In April and May when our pitching was all world our offense was sucky. Quentin saved this season, but the rest of our guys never showed up. Swisher better be a f***ing superstar next year. His comedy routine is funny. But his offense not so funny. A baseball offense is made up of more than one player. Swisher going down sucked. But it was the offense taking the entire month of September off being one of the worst in the AL that ruined this season. 3 months they sucked this year on offense. Our home/away splits on offense are a joke. Its like the Texas Rangers a few years back when we questioned their lights in center fields. Something needs to be done. No more aging vets who are slow and have power.
  7. Hopefully we can add a few more line drive types. This was another season with men on, trying to hit the long ball instead of the single thats needed. The twink big boys will shorten their swings up on 2 strikes to put the ball in play. Its an organizational philosophy of putting the ball in play. People miss the boat with the construction of the Twins. Everyone points to the offense as being dome aided. But their pitching takes more of a jeckle and hyde routine from home and away. Thats more of the dome effect. ERA at the Dome 3.24 ERA away from the Dome 5.14 Offense at the Dome 422 runs, .782 OPS .292BA ( due to the pounding it into the turf) Offense away from the Dome 398 Runs, .726 OPS, .270 BA Most Runs in the AL on the road. The offense is balanced and can play anywhere, its their pitching staff that has problems when they leave dome sweet dome. Our home/away splits for our offense We scored 444 runs at home. .833 OPS, 273 BA We scored 333 runs on the road good for 12th in the AL. .732 OPS, .253 BA
  8. The moron sniffs and then kisses his bat before he gets into the batters box. Maybe he and his bat are more than just friends.
  9. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 10:34 PM) I know all the boobirds on here are going to tell me to shut the f*** up.....but I have to say this. Lets support this team and it still can make the playoffs. If the fan support continues in the manner it has for the last three days, we have no shot. If the Cell is packed this weekend and we win 3 against the Tribe and 1 against the Tigers on Monday, we still are guarantee at least a piece of the division title. However, if all this team hears is tales of doom and gloom and the support is not there like it was for the Twins in the last 3 games.....that attitude will transfer to this team. The biggest difference in the last 3 games was the home field advantage and we have to make sure that advantage is there for us the rest of the way. Its funny how all the fans used to be optimistic when we sucked....but ever since we won one World title, many Sox fans have become the most pessimistic fans in the world. I'm ready to win another world title and I think it can happen this year.....Don't stop believeing The team was in control of its own destiny. One win, one freakin win. Now we have to hope the Royals dont get swept. We get Cliff Lee on Sunday, and they get some AAA bum because they aren't pitching Grienke.
  10. And Comcast and their broadcast technology they purchased from Wayne's world locks up again. How can the Big 10 network get it right in 2 years, and Comcast has been on for a few more than that.
  11. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) I'm telling you, Griffey has been very valuable this series. Wise has been awful. When you are up a couple of runs late in the game, you pull your offensive slow old guys and put your young fast can catch the ball types.
  12. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) Geez, Alexei, get your head in this big game! OC was the one who turned it.
  13. Why in the name of god is Brian Anderson not in CF right now.
  14. Can we get the clown car defense off the of the field. 3 run lead and we have a 30 year old journeyman, and a old man in CF. This is sad.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) No, he's really not. Tons of base runners. He should only have one run given up. He has been fine. As long as he bends and doesnt break. The rest of our pen likes to give up lots of base runners as well. Do you really want any of our pen to throw in the 6th inning. Thornton for 2 against this team isnt a good idea.
  16. In about the next inning or so, Ozzie better move Griffey to the bench and Anderson to the OF. We need all hands on deck for the last few inning.
  17. Its amazing how bad umpires are in general. Its hasn't been the same since this new crop of jokers came in years ago.
