  1. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 07:00 PM) Our hitting was incredible in 2004 and we won 90 freaking games. Are you guys freakin serious? Our offense was so great that year, Kenny immediately rewarded it by publically calling out in August as an all or nothing offense. Then in the offseason, traded away our starting left fielder and basically reworked the offense a bit. If it was so great, Pods would of been on the Brewers still.
  2. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 07:55 PM) We have the second best run differential and the 3rd or 4th best record in the majors. What the f*** are you talking about. In 2004 at the same date we had the 2nd best run differential with a +68. That was the epitome of on again, off again offense.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) 3 nights ago, I had faith we'd win that game off Borowski. 2 nights ago, after Line gave up the HR to Sizemore, I had faith that we'd win- so much so that I called the AJ walk off HR. Today, I have no faith we'll win. Its amazing, we cant hit their pitching with our "offense" at home, yet on the road, the As can hit our good pitching.
  4. Well the attack pattern is familiar. Low and Away on all hitters. Maybe someday they will figure it out.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 07:49 PM) Just hit a homer and make us happier Crede. We have to hit a homer to win the game, we are what like 4-21 when not hitting a homer. That should tell you the story.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) OC is such a catalyst. Also, I'll be happy if we don't play for one run in the 5th inning ever again. Blanton has been terrible this year. We have this skill of making pitchers look better with the invisible offense.
  7. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 07:42 PM) Nothing mediocre about it; it was down right poor. Oakland is a bad hitting team. Greg Smith and Harden are going to be tough. I have not heard anything about the Harden dead arm? If our offense doesnt wake up we could get swept out of our home park.
  8. Our on again/off again offense is off again. Hopefully they can figure out how to hit again soon.
  9. QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) Does anyone feel like its disrespectful on this day? How exactly is it disrespectful to honor our military on the 4th of July.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 10:32 PM) Detroit would be pretty happy about that. Seriously...yes it is a lot of money to spend on a new car. But if the other option is paying $4000, $5000 a year for gasoline because the world simply doesn't have enough and other countries still want it...which would you choose/ Well I don't worry about me. I have the funds, and I am currently looking at the plug in hybrids for my next car. But lets rewind, and think about people like my parents who bought a "new" car with 87k miles on it for 2500 bucks. Those are the people that are going to have a problem with moving to the new types of cars.
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) sure would make a nice talking point for Obama "I want to push renewable energies while Bush/McCain bow to big oil" Pushing for renewable energies is a great idea. However, that switch is going to take a bit. You realize that there are 150 to 200 million cars in the US that happen to use gas correct. Even if they say came up with a new type of car that ran on hydrogen, and they did solve the distribution system. Thats a lot of scratch for the average person to spend to buy a new car. The old car of course, would have little resale value due to the new infrastructure. How long exactly do you think its going to take to get that cutover to happen. So what is Obama going to do with the oil issue that will still be here in the next couple of decades as we cut over.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) They are? Smith dominated us last time we faced him, and Harden has been amazing lately (hopefully his dead arm is legit). /sarcasm I thought you of all would be able to see through the hidden green on that post.
  13. Alexei Ramirez tried a novel idea in the 9th inning. He moved towards the plate. Crede and the rest were sitting in their usual almost out of the box so they can extend their arms stance. You cant reach that low and away crap from there. I know they may miss that inner half pitch that they want to extend on, but with Street sitting on the 1st base side of the pitching rubber its never every coming. Javy pitched well tonight.
  14. QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 09:28 PM) Well they weren't going to beat Lee, CC, and Duchsereerererer. 2 out of 3 isn't bad. The rest of the pitching matchups are exactly favorable for our mighty offense.
  15. It would be nice if our right handers would adjust against Street. At least Alexei moved towards the plate. The rest of the guys are parked as far away from the plate as they can, waiting for the inside pitch that never comes.
  16. AJ was talking about how the sox have a problem at home late in games, because everyone wants to hit a home run. That explains the swings we have seen for the last decade late in games.
  17. Nice plate discipline by Swish there. Very pods like.
  18. So much for the Thome walkoff. Now for the low and away attack on Crede. Lets see if he can actually adjust.
  19. Thank god we value showcasing Uribe over playing Anderson for good D in CF.
  20. Low and away works our guys over. Right field is not out guys. Ask AJ about all fields hitting.
  21. CQ just got worked over. Time for Dye to pick him up.
  22. All fields AJ gets another double. I like him a lot better than Mr. Power AJ we originally picked up.
  23. f***ing Crede and his clutch popups to the 2nd baseman.
