  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 08:39 PM) Yet you bow down to Texas and their hitting coach, and all of their runs tonight have scored via the longball. A 3 run homer after the previous batter walked on a pitch called a strike to every other hitter, and a 2 run homer after a pop up that found a nice place to land (I still wonder where Cabrera was going), They lead the league in runs scored, in hits, in doubles, 4th in triples, and OPS. Maybe I like their offense because they are not one dimensional like the sox.
  2. Man we have this swinging for the fences crap down to a science. Upper cut it and watch it get caught on the track. Line drives are for pussies, chicks dig the long ball.
  3. Maybe someone can wake up our team and let them know that while the Rangers have the worst ERA in the AL, swinging with long looping swings looking for the dong on every pitch is not a way to attack them.
  4. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 09:12 PM) Harden looking awesome Brewer pen gives up the lead........ I am sure they care over at nsbb.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) It doesn't help when Hawk or DJ cream their pants. You can't help but to think it's a HR. Hawk starts the home run call the minute it clears the pitchers mound.
  6. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) Our pitchers are giving up the bomb with runners on, or at the most critical point in the game, while our hitters continue to squander the RBI chances with runners in scoring position, or hit the solo shots. This is troubling They have the best hitting coach in the game. Their hitters don't try to go hero when they get men on.
  7. Ah Hunter, nepotism works for stupid people as well, Wendlestedt working the plate.
  8. Love the big swings with men on. Nothing like going hero.
  9. Considering our record when we hit home runs, that dramatically changed our chances.
  10. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 07:17 PM) He gave a cookie to Hamilton, but wasn't terrible, I think hes looks better then last time we saw him. Offense needs to get us back in this game. Kevin Hickey throwing batting practice looked better than Javy over the last month.
  11. They can ditch this "silent assassin" crap. The only thing he has assassinated over the last month, is this teams chance to win when he pitches.
  12. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) Have they faced Feldman b4?? It doesnt matter. If this team cannot use advance scouting, and come up with a game plan then they are morons. He has pitched in the majors before, so I would guess that there is tape on the kid.
  13. Now at some point in this game, hawk will go into a frame by frame comparison of one of our hitters getting a strike called on them, and one that Javy didnt get.
  14. Anytime our offense wants to show up and earn their keep. Would be nice.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 07:04 PM) Hawk needs t o STFU. That pitch to Young was no way a strike and now we will have to hear about it the rest of the game. Thats because its impossible in the world of Hawk that a player could of possibly messed up.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 08:01 PM) nice walk. genius. Javy = loads of talent + raisins in his pants.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 18, 2008 -> 08:38 PM) Or Chad Qualls. Or if it was pre 2007.
  18. Area of Chicago I lived since my family decided to come here + Well Born in Ireland + year I was born.
  19. I would expand my family a bit. The first move would be to adopt a girl. A nice 18-22 year old. My wife wouldn't need to worry about the extra work of taking care of her, as I would devote myself to her care. This would be anything from feeding, teaching, to even bathing of the girl. To make her feel right at home, I would ask her to invite all of her friends over for a pajama party. Of course for safety reasons I would need to video tape it, maybe even stream it for a fee. The fee goes to charity of course. Charity being my new adopted 18 year olds girls name. The sad thing is I am willing to take on this burden without the mega million dollars. I have approached my wife about the love we can give to another and she keeps telling me NO. Maybe its that I love too much. Sigh Look at Megan Fox. No one has adopted her. I would be willing to make that sacrifice.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 04:37 PM) Also we played the s*** out of kickball in my back yard. Anyone else have their school outlaw Red Rover? I remember the funny thing about playing kickball in gym. You would request to the pitcher on the other team, "slow and bouncy" and for some odd reason the other team would honor your request. It was a glorified version of home run derby. How about this, anyone play "no touching ground IT" at the playground. I remember doing all sorts of dangerous stupid crap to keep from getting caught. There was this park near my cousins house, it had a 2nd story wooden clubhouse with a slide. We would go hand over hand out to the edge and dangle like morons to avoid getting caught. Also there was a technique of running ontop of the monkey bars and walking on the swing beam. Amazing how coordinated you are playing a game like that, and ten minutes later you can trip over a snail. The dumbest thing I did was climbing on top of that 2 story wooden house, and then going to the very edge of it so the kid who was IT couldnt catch me. Again one of the 20 moments in my life where I am surprised that my stupidity didnt kill me.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 08:27 PM) Do you have to dial in for DSL or does it continuously run through the line like cable? You can run DSL a few different ways. But in short, you dont need to dial up. You can either use your phone line for DSL transport, which will use either splitters or filters to isolate and split the phone and DSL connections. Or you can get a dedicated phone line and run the DSL over it. This is called Naked DSL in most parts of the earth.
  22. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) I wouldn't give up much for him. He's got lots of talent yes, but this is his 5th full season and with his talent still hasn't put it together. He didn't work out under Mazzone so it would be more challenging for coop. Last season he gave up 25 homers and has 15 this year. Imagine him at the cell with his control problems... not good. If they try working out his problems with the team that could also hurt us even though Contreras hasn't done much himself. Yes there is upside to Cabrera, but everyone shouldn't believe he will get here and dominate right away if he's successful at all. If KW can get him for cheap do it. Cooper is the best in the business of taking a pitcher who has lots of physical talent and getting the most of him.
