  1. Attention White Sox hitters. Up the middle and right field await you. This is a big park. I understand that its normal whitesox MO to swing for the fence when get behind. This is why we have 3 hits against a horses*** pitcher like Davies.
  2. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) WTF is Ozzie waiting for?? Him to go 6 so he can get him his win. Al pitchers go 6, no matter how much they get bombed.
  3. 12 hits through 3 2/3s innings. Ozzie. Maybe Mark doesnt have it today. Can we pull him. Please.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) How about we just set it on a tee for them? How about we get someone up in the pen. Letting him get wrecked because he wants to throw extended BP is a bit dumb.
  5. Buerhle needs to start to drive that cutter in. This going going away, getting the ball up crap he is going to get destroyed.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 02:57 PM) I just can't stand OC and Toby Hall. Dye's now 3 for his last 20, and it's just an observation that he's been too pull happy. Davies is garbage, and we should tee off him soon.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 03:49 PM) I wonder if teams are starting to figure Buehrle out. Its not figuring him out. Its stupid pitches when you get to 2 strikes. Leaving meatballs up over the plate on 1-2 with a soft tosser like Buerhle is called Merry Christmas.
  8. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) It is about 110 degrees on the field was hot last night and will be tomorrow. How did Griffey not get that ball. He is slow, and old. He was playing in, but they moved him back. Great defensive positioning.
  9. Buerhle's pattern today. Get the hitter to the disadvantage of throwing 2 quick strikes, then groove a meatball belt high, center cut.
  10. Nice to see some 2 out RBIs. Keep the line moving. Nice game overall.
  11. I wonder if DJ notices Hawks member out under the table as he dreams about the Twins. Mauer the guy who invented hittinng. Oh god. Oh my god. Morneau, oh god. GOOOOOOMMMMMEEZZZ!!!!
  12. There is no reason what so every that this bum is shutting us down like this. This should not be a pitchers duel.
  13. Our pitchers need to establish the inside corner more. I break our pitchers into a few categories The Buerhle mold Buerhle and Danks are at their best when they drive their cutters in on right handers, then go away with their changeups. Danks has a better fastball, but not fast enough to overcome bad location. When these guys go away away away, then right handers start to dive over the plate and drive their pitches. Pounding inside, keeps this from happening. Floyd The key to floyd is not whether he establishes inside. His is the curveball. If he can throw it for strikes he can be very effective. I would like to see him go with a high 2 strike fastbll, chest high or higher, then break off the curve. Contreras. His is simple when healthy. Can he keep that arm slot up. If he can keep it up, and only use the sidearm attack as a different look or a 2 strike look he is fine. When his arm slot is up, he can drive down on the forkball and get the tumble action that he needs. Vazquez. Vazquez is a slinger. His ball has so much movement. I would rather see him climb the ladder on 2 strikes. As his fastball has late life, aiming it is not exactly something he does. His problem with going away is the tailing action on his pitch. It comes back over the plate, and with his gunslinger approach, it sometimes catches too much of the plate. His issue similar to contreras is arm angle as well. He either gets into a bad funk, or gets tired in a game and then he opens up a bit. A guy like him needs to stay closed, and drive towards the plate keeping the arm up high. When he opens up, his arm drops down a bit and the ball sails all over the place. He gets into hitters counts, then aims a meatball in. My thoughts are they all can be fixed quickly. The pen is another story. Its more about throwing strikes for them, and not getting into hitters counts. A starter has 4 pitches usually and can get away with more mistakes than a short reliever that may have 2. If one isnt over, its easy to eliminate and drive. Just my 2 cents.
  14. QUOTE (Nokona @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:13 PM) And on cue check. We have had our In/Out poll. We have our Belusi bombing Pearl Harbor quote. Next will be the attempt to put different players as our designate "Rally" player.
  15. Its amazing. We hire Guillen and Kenny gets up in a press conference and talks about playing Grinder ball similar to the twins. And how he is going to bring in grinders. I guess he must need new glasses, because we seem to think that Nick Punto and others like him are large men who cant run, who hits lots of home runs and have low Batting averages. We have come full circle here. Kenny built his original teams around large behemoth sluggers, then he traded a few away and talked a good game about speed, that was a myth. This team is 2004 all over again. Rotten Rotten defense surrounded by a medicore team, that has no balls. Thats 2004 in a nutshell. I am so glad we ditched our line drive hitting outfielder. The guy with the best looking swing in our system, and brought another 260ish hitter with power. But he is funny. f***ing funny I tell you. He has his own club. Cant hit that good this year. But my god did you see him high five his own poster. Vomits
  16. QUOTE (Allsox @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:28 PM) Their players (Outside of Morneau and Mauer) aren't that damn good, no matter how much Hawk kisses their ass. I'm tired of seeing Nick Punto and guys named Span absolutely kill us. As someone said last night, the Sox' advanced scouting dept should either be: A) Fired B) Hire more of them The Sox hitters and pitchers look absolutely clueless against these guys every time in the Metrodome and I'm sick and tired of it. We were more talented than they were everytime they won the division in this decade. This team needs to play baseball instead of trying to admire their home runs and kick the ball.
  17. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) So Swish is giving #30 to Jr... does this mean Griffey is the new leader of the Dirty Thirty Club? Is Fields the interim president of Crede's faction? Who cares. How about he stops with the comic relief and starts to play baseball. The clown act grows old when he plays like s***. How about he starts a hitting club.
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) I want to be the one to christen their new field with the champagne bottle. Stop with this s***. Its not the field. I repeat its not the field. Its a bunch of foolish men, who believe that the place is haunted. Throw the ball, catch the ball, hit the ball and the boogy man goes away. If we play like crap in the new field, we will still get beat.
  19. This needs to be asked at next years Soxfest. Cub fans believe in curses, goats and bartmans. So why exactly as a member of the sox organization would you promote the idea that we cannot win in a divisional opponents park. How about we man up and no matter what, take it as a challenge to beat that team.
  20. QUOTE (JohnStamos @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:05 PM) Well then you are not a very intelligent person, because that's precisely the reason both throws were rushed and in the dirt. There was no dirt. Its artificial turf. The ball bounces true unless it hits a seam. Scooping a ball is something that a first baseman should know how to do.
  21. Brian Anderson should be laughing in the dugout. Why am I on this team again.
  22. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) Yeah hawk, we don't execute in this building Think something might need to be done about that, yeah? Some words need to be said by management/coaches, instead of just ignoring the problem for so fu*king long like they have runners 1st & 3rd, 0 outs hahahaha Our management needs to be taken to task. When Guillen was hired, this "grinder" hard nosed, fundamentally sound, baseball player was supposed to be what we see. I see the same kick the ball s*** I saw when valentin was haunting SS.
  23. STFU Hawk. Gomez doesnt intimidate anyone but you. If Swish can scoop he is out. Please sox fans, sox announcers, managers, owners etc. Stoping making the twins into some unbeatable dragon, that only a golden knight on a sunny day with the help of god can slay. Play fundamental baseball, stop kicking the ball around, throw strikes and hit the f***ing ball and you can win. Its not impossible. This is just a fundamental team versus a not-so fundamental team.
