**White Sox vs. Royals 7/7/08** 7:10pm, The U

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 09:51 PM) Jenks makes key pitches. Sometimes, I have no idea how, but it's a talent. And he's got it. The guy in the 9th needs stones not raisins. -

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) Line working on getting that ERA back up -- looks a lot like he did last year for Milwaukee. Bad. This experience with Liney should remind everyone who panics when Jenks is on the mound. Jenks might walk the tightrope a bit at times, but the man gets the job done. -

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Or #1 in the AL Central. Dye, while looking goofy, makes some very good plays out there and hardly ever doesn't make an error. Example A. Man on first, you have a one run lead. This calls for no doubles defense. Don't let the ball get over your head. Now granted he didnt get an error, he just gave up on the ball after playing too shallow. Runner scores. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) Could Dye have caught that? Unreal, what awful managing. Yes if he didnt give up on it. He should of been playing no doubles defense. -

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:33 PM) Anyone else have CIU s*** out????? You know, this is a big city and we get treated to the same experience as if we were 50 miles out, having someone hold up the rabbit ears trying to get the right angle to pull in 50 percent fuzz. This is crappy. -

A fly ball, a line drive, a homer, a passed ball, a walk. These are things we need here. -

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:20 PM) If you're here to tell me that Dye hasn't been good in RF this year, then I'm here to tell you that you're nuts. Dye is good moving foward, and moving back. Dye has a great arm. However, Moving toward the line not so good. Lots of singles turn into doubles, doubles into triples and he lumbers towards the line. -

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:19 PM) You really shouldn't be judging OF's on errors. The immortal Carlos Lee, best left fielder evah according to errors. -

QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) Right before the game, DJ told Paulie he might be DH'ed by Ozzie for some games. Paulie said he would love to play 1st for the reminder of the season. He puts the I in team. -

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) The Sox really, REALLY need to find a way to get Swisher at 1st next season. That all depends on Gentleman Jim not hitting his AB total for this year. The only question is Kong seems the type to get pissy if you move him to DH. I would rather move Dye to DH, and move Q to Right. -

And the home run hero's go down trying to hit the game winner with every swing. This is why we run into periods where we can score only by the dong. -

AJ on the MJH show talked about how getting up in the late innings is a disadvantage for the hitter, because everyone tries to hit home runs. -

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Is there a stat on what team leads the MLB in first pitch balls from SP's or RP's? I swear, we might lead the league. Most of our starters pound the zone, and so do most of our relievers. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) That first pitch to PK wasn't even close to being a strike. Someone needs to instruct our hitters on what exact a strike is. If it bounces in the other batters box, dont swing. If its taller than you, dont swing. If it bounces in, dont swing. If you need 2 bats taped together to reach it, dont swing. -

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) true to both but i thought i remembered a lot of gripe about them in the rotation on these boards and theres no denying that there level of success was a surprise to most. So what im getting at his you never know when one of our minor league pitchers if given the chance will come up and have success at this level, but we wont know unless we give them a chance. Broadway was a first round pick and had success in his short stint in the bigs last year, i think he deserves a shot to take over for jose Royce Ring was a first round pick as well. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) Danks was a top prospect...none of those Sox guys are even close to that billing. Floyd was the number 4 pick overall as well. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) Who's going to take the count's place in the second half? Think of how bad Jose was last year, how many starts he got destroyed before he was lifted from the rotation. So think september, and his arm falls off, not figuratively literally it falls off and he has a stump. Thats about when he will get replaced.
