  1. Conteras's issues can be tied to his arm angle. During ST, his arm angle was up high. He had good velocity, with the arm up high you can drive down on the splitter and you get the backward motion that creates the tumble action. Side arm Contreras throws with less velocity, the side arm motion creates a sailing action that raises the ball in the zone. You cannot pull down.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 12:25 PM) He hit a homer yesterday , struck out a couple of times and made an error today. He's turning into Josh Fields. Nice to see Uribe's one fan is here.
  3. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) F***ing Juan Uribe. That was the inning ending DP right there He will make it up, by gripping the bat with a death grip, swinging as hard as he can, and changing the earth's rotation when his ass moves that quickly as he falls to the ground striking out.
  4. Snacks and Cakes with some of that stellar defense that keeps him in the lineup.
  5. Nice pitching all around. Dye should be in left and either Swish in RF with Anderson in CF. Or Swish in CF and Quentin in RF. Ramirez should be getting his time in on the infield.
  6. QUOTE(scenario @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 09:53 AM) The difference is that Uribe is one of the easiest outs in MLB. (He's been in or around the bottom 5 in OBP of all starting position players in MLB the last two years.) So he slaps homeruns occassionally to pump up his numbers and lull Sox management into playing him. That doesn't negate all the offensive opportunities for the team that he snuffs out. So you think Ozuna sucks too. Fine. But when it comes to making outs and putting the offense into a stall, he sucks much less. Play him. Ozuna should start at 2nd every time someone comes up pitching from the left side. His value on this team is as a spot starter, and lefty killer.
  7. And here is comes. Owens is near to come off the DL. And guess which player is going down.
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) Have I got a cap for you. http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/ind...oductId=2721077 My son already has it. LOL
  9. QUOTE(joesaiditstrue @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 09:58 PM) wouldn't surprise me if BA is on the bench, because he intends on packaging him into a trade somewhere and doesn't want other teams to see that he can't really hit well in the big leagues, moreso letting his spring performance maybe elevate his trade value i dunno You will see a shaven, sleak, speedster named SouthPaw the mascot out in CF before Ozzie turns over the starting job to him.
  10. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 05:31 PM) can't wait to see how mariotti spins another cub loss tomorrow. His recent sox bashing has reached new levels of ignorance, even for him. I know, I know, I shouldn't read it. Can't help myself. Anytime that douche gets you upset. play this. And you will realize that everyone hates him. Even his co-workers.
  11. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) I really do not get Ramirez in CF over Quentin or Anderson. He is not a CF and its not like he has a phenomenal bat that we need to get in the lineup. I think Ozzie would play Southpaw over Anderson if he could. Anderson needs a trade in the worst way to get some time. I expect when Owens comes back, Anderson will be join Fields with the Knights. Quentin for some reason, is a pinch hitter and sometimes OF.
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 03:44 PM) Hence my long, drawn out complaint that he pulled him off waivers when we could have been rid of him. We're going to see 500+ Uribe at bats this year. I'm f***ing sick to my stomach. No you will be sick when he is hitting .227 into August, and Hawk starts a montra on how Uribe can carry a team. He will hit .350 in September to push him to .240.
  13. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 03:22 PM) at least Uribe is still in the lineup. WHAT THE f*** He will be out of the starting lineup when Kenny gets him off of the roster. Its the only way.
  14. QUOTE(JorgeFabregas @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 03:10 PM) Scott Reifert's blog has been updated and says Lineup: Swisher, CF; Cabrera, SS; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Ramirez, CF; Crede, 3B; Uribe, 2B. Vazquez pitching. Yes, it has both Swisher and Ramirez playing CF. So whats the number of ABs Quentin/Anderson get before Owens comes back. 3 between the 2 of them. Maybe a pinch hit here or there.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 09:38 AM) Which NSM do you use? (just so happens this is my wheelhouse) The NSM I use is based on Sguil. I wrote a series of custom code wrapped around the database in Sguil to give me alerts similar to what a SIEM offers. I also have a series of custom DI signatures I wrote that also alert back via Syslog that get inputted into the same Oracle database. I am looking forward to the next version of Snort 3.0 which will have a lot more ways to interface with the packet data at a low level. I like Sguil because of the query capability, and the session information it can pull. Its custom code wrapped around open source projects but for right now its quick and works well for my needs. Maybe in a year or so I will be looking to move this into a SIEM type product.

    DHL S****

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 09:33 AM) I actually love DHL. Ive had experiences where they have told me where the truck is so I can meet him somewhere since I needed a package early, their staff at the drop off place is great, and they seem to be on time a majority of the time. As a person who ships pretty expensive, sensitive equipment all over the world. I can tell you, that all carriers have issues. Fedex - Was shipped one Dell 1750 server overnight. The box, which looked like a Wolverine had attacked the box was delivered to my office. The servers rack ears were bent back, and the entire right side of the server was caved in. When we popped the top off to get the raid card, there were loose chips that had popped off the mother board. You know you had a case of server soccer when the soddered chips pop off. DHL - Sent a Juniper firewall to Asia. The box showed up, and when they opened it, it was 20 pairs of womens shoes sent to Marge in Ohio with a note from her sister. UPS - Box with server came to our site. The bottom of the server box looked warped. It seemed a bit heavier than the usual box. When we took the server out of the box, water came out of the back of the server.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 03:46 PM) That depends...has the email with today's date been sent backwards in time or not? My Flux Capacitor router only activates as packets approach the speed of light, and hit 88mph. Now if I can get my trusty firewall to get the correct power output we can transport the entire internet back into the 1800s.
  18. What is todays date people?
  19. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) I saw this in the story, and that is what worried me. Now I am sure it CAN be checked, but knowing the government, how can we be sure it IS checked? That is what worries me about this. I love it when child predators are taken down. But there is still somethign about this that I just think needs to be checked or tweaked to make sure it doesn't screw up innocent people. You get accused of this s***, even when innocent, and you are screwed for life. An access log in their web server is not a forensically sound method that will stand up in court. I suspect that they are performing full content decodes via a sniffer or IDS to capture the entire packet stream. During basic analysis of this, you can tell if the person accidentally clicked on the link. Or is perusing the site. My guess is that they have a link that brings you to a website, and that the website has links within it. I can tell by looking at a content servers log with packet capture if the person is just clicking on a porn link accidentally, or they are drilling into the site spending time on the server. I would suspect that this is more than a single link.
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 03:05 PM) see post 21 I along with a lot of security professionals block anonymizers such as tinyurl.com at our companies. These are often used by people to obscure the url to get around content blockers and to hide the payload of a malware url. Another thing is that modern browsers are putting phishing protection in the product to watch for site redirection such as that. Blindly clicking on URLs that you receive in your email will more likely get your machine taken over as part of a botnet than you getting some illegal child porn. You can set this up protection at your home by using a free service like OpenDNS.com You can enable its phishing protection and block anonymizers and other content and it will protect you from getting caught like this.
  21. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) Forgive my ignorance on internet technologies, but can't they find where you followed the link from? If they saw you can from soxtalk.com, they might look into it a little more before beating down your door. Actually within the http protocol, there is a referrers entry that will tell you where the link was redirected from.
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 12:09 PM) Maybe the movie Minority Report will come to fruition some day? How do you figure. If I advertise a website via a kiddy porn forum named 13 year old naked boy sodomy and fun and you click on it. What was your intent.
  23. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) So why not arrest them for being on the illegal websites? How exactly do we know that X person is on a Prague IRC server trading child porn. We may know of the servers existence, but you may not have country law enforcement assistance. You realize that these child porn servers are not exactly hosted at a co-location facility in the US. They are all over, and they move quite a bit. To make things easier, just have them come to you. You don't have to deal with a foreign ISP and other countries laws.
