Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) I actually noticed that he no longer looks like a pitcher swinging the bat. People always say that the Rangers have the best hitting coach in the majors. Lots of line drive swings on their kids. I wonder if we can toss a ton of money at him and lure him away. -

So according to the hawk, Stewarts swing is different. -

Jake Westbrook probably has a smile on his face when he faces our team. Just tell the 3rd baseman to be ready and let the rest happen. -

Why would you ask Hawk about his approach against anyone. He was horrible as a player. You might as well ask Willie Harris. -

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) Okay I see what you guys are talking about with Buehrle now; he's hunched over before he starts his windup. Yup, that's new. I wonder why he's doing that. Its all about how you look I guess. Zito pitched that way and got $$$$$. -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) When will Loe be accepting his Cy-Young award? Christ, I'm already tired of the praise on this guy by Hawk/DJ. I'm sure by June I'll look at his statistics and notice a delicious 5.50 ERA and hits surrendered than IP. Its like when we face Jake Westbrook and he dominates us like Johan, and then the next time I am watching the tigers rip him to shreds. -

According to Hawk Loe has the best sinker in the entire world, in fact I think he is using some sort of gravity device to pull on the ball more. Then again, it could be hawk talking up another pitcher he thinks will shut down our lineup. -

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) Am I crazy, or is Buehrle's start position and windup a little different than we're used to seeing. He seems more hunched over, bent at the waist. Am I crazy, or is Buehrle's start position and windup a little different than we're used to seeing. He seems more hunched over, bent at the waist. You got it. To me he is trying to emulate Zito from last year. However he is not finishing his stride and is leaving the ball up. -

Chris Stewart still cant hit, but anyone can crank a meatball. Mark needs to get the ball down a bit more. -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 05:06 PM) There's all Guillen needs to see -- Erstad homers, Anderson strikes out. With Terrero getting these starts to me for Ozzie, I bet you they are evaluating Terrero as a 4th OF vs Perez. Anderson should figure out who his roomate will be in AAA. -

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 05:03 PM) Cause he's in RF?? Erstad homers, 4 - 4. Mack can play RF, Erstad in LF, and Andeson in CF. And when the season starts, Erstad in LF leading off. Anderson in CF and Dye in RF. Pods on the bench or sent away. -

Any reason for Terrero to be playing again over Anderson again. -
Happy Birthday Kalapse!!!!

Caitlin Therese was born last night, she is 6 pounds 5 ounces and 19 1/2 inches. Mother and Baby are doing well.
-
QUOTE(Y2HH @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 05:38 PM) IMO, it's going to come down to whatever playtime Anderson has left -- he'd better not tank, and that's all there is too it. Well if the bar is set by Terrero then the only way BA doesnt make the team is if Ozzie assassinates him.
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 05:30 PM) BA = 39 plate appearances. Terrero = 30 plate appearances. I know all of you have decided that Ozzie has decided, but... he hasn't, officially. If he decides to demote BA for no good reason, then I'll be as mad as you are. But right now, BA is getting plenty of chances, and doing pretty well with those chances. So I'll wait. BA didnt start yesterday and hasnt appeared today. Considering how many ABs Erstad has had versus everyone else. You need to get more ABs for Anderson to see what he has. Terrero has enough major league time to know what you have. You need to see what you have with Anderson and the only way to do that is to give him ABs.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 05:26 PM) So weird since I just watched the dvd and heard it for real. Watching that DVD is pretty moving, especially if you were there. I can remember exactly what was going on at that point. I remember looking down from the far perch I had in the park and seeing an amazing site, 40k fans in raincoats, bags, and raingear jumping up and down high fiving each other. It was amazing.

The sockless Farmer gets to yell "SLAM!!!!!

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 05:22 PM) Wikipedia walks. Well Duh, like we didn't already know that about CF. I know, but when you have the mouthpieces for the sox start to speak this, it pretty much tells tales. Just like when you see Hawk turn on a player, the minute Hawk gets on a player pretty much pack his bags. Its like Bagdad Bob turning on Saddam.

Rongey with a interesting comment, for once. "Jobs are probably already decided, they havent told everyone because they want to keep people competing"
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 05:15 PM) Guy strikes out his first two AB's, you think he might take a few pitches. Didn't he swing at the first pitch after a 4-pitch walk yesterday too? So does Brian get to have an AB today, or are we having him play against the minor leaguers getting ready for Charlotte.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) Terrero flies out on first pitch. Enough of the Terrero experiment. I would rather see how Brian plays against people more than say this guy.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 05:02 PM) With the earlier tightness, I believe its all a sign of an injury. You can have tightness and not have an injury. Farmer is pointing to his mechanics. If he isnt driving towards the plate and flying open, he will leave the ball high, lose some velocity and get rocked. Its what Marte did a bunch of times.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) Iguchi strikes out on a foul tip. I would like to see our non 3-4-5 hitters get a better approach and make contact more. Put the f***ing ball in play, maybe something good can happen.
