  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) This is Ozzie's team though and he's going to want a new leadoff hitter next year, a short, low OBP, no power, no arm, no defense, low SB%, low SLG%, .270-.280 hitting semi-fast guy to take over Pods' spot. Juan Pierre fits the role perfectly, he played for Ozzie (sort of) when they were both with the Marlins organization and Oswaldo fell in love. Oz obviously has no interest in using Brian Anderson as an everyday player so what would be the point in KW leaving a guy on the roster like Anderson who's not going to play? Ozzie needs to go before he ruins our future with his facination with crap. Thanks for the hardware, have a nice life Ozzie.
  2. QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:55 AM) in truth, guerrero should have caught AJ's ball. Owens had no chance on the bases. if that ball is hit with 2 outs he scores with no problem. Its real simple. Santana was doing what every pitcher has been doing to us this second half. He was going low and away to our righties. In one inning, we decided to attack that, and we hit the ball up the middle and the other way. Besides that we acted shocked that we were getting feed low and away. Look at Crede with men on against K rod. 94 low and away and you see a pathetic swing. These are guys going up to the dish not having a clue on what the approach is. Unless you have the reach of Vlad you cannot I repeat cannot pull a low and away 94 mph pitch and do too much with it. The fact that our team goes up night after night without an approach for a simple way that people have taken to attack a myopic power hitting team, its either the hitters are retarded or our hitting coach is stubborn. I go with both.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) And yet another horrid game for Scotty Dergen. He'll make a fine DH for some Independent League team someday. Kalapse tell me that KW will override Ozzies obsession next year with having the miniature speed guy who doesnt do anything in an OF position. I have a nasty feeling that Owens who is worthless except as a 4th OF for a bad team, or Pierre see Owens. Why else would Pods play day in and day out no matter how bad he is.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) As Lee Corso would say... "Goodnight, sweetheart". Chance to take the lead in the ninth, runners at the corners, one out, and Crede K's. Runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs and an MVP candidate standing at the dish. What do you do? Be aggressive on the bases! Yet another opportunity to take the lead, as Ross Gload smokes a double to RF. But, of course, Ross is the only one who can touch Dennis Eck-- err, that's Hector Carrasco. Dustin Hermanson? In a tie game? WTF? And, not that it makes a difference, but thanks for the help Oakland and Texas. And I f***ing hate Jason Tyner, too, on an unrelated note. You better take this all in this year, because next year, your ass is going to be back to the normal .220 scrub that you are. The offense is to blame for this loss and why we have been strugglign lately. The offense is in its annual post ASB slumber. The bats will wake back up in April.
  5. Classic corpseball that we have seen in past years was were we would get 1 to 3 hit through 4 or 5 innings. Now take a step back and take a look at what we have seen. How many times have we stood with either no hits or maybe 2 by the 5th inning. Either we are running into Cy Young everyday or our hitting sucks.
  6. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:34 AM) thats true, but I don't necessarily think its because of lack of offensive approach that was infuriating me earlier in the year, its more of the fact that we just haven't been able to come up with hits (and keep in mind we've been facing good pitchers anyways) Julian Taverez, Runnynose Hernandez, anything that the Royals or Devil Rays have thrown out. None of these are good.
  7. All I want this offseason is the following to start off with. The dismisal of Cora and Walker. The hiring of a vet third base coach who has a clue. The hiring of a high OBP line drive hitting coach like maybe Paul Molitor. The remodeling of US Cell to move the fences back so our meathead hitters dont get confused on the object of hitting next ASB. The removal of pets of the manager, like Pods and Garcia. The hiring of a vet bench coach that can assist ozzie with these tough baseball decisions. A set lineup that plays more than 25 percent of the time.
  8. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) I think the Sox won't make it to the playoffs for the same reasons I've thought that for weeks: 1. The Sox are behind the Twins and Tigers in the race. 2. The Sox are a worse team than the Twins and the Tigers. Bot the Twins and Tigers have proven themselves to be bette teams this year. And they have been considerably better in the stretch run. Our record vs the Royals and Devil Rays. And our inability to hit at all in the 2nd half.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) I beg the Sox management that if we get mathematically eliminated, please shut down our 5 starters and Jenks, MacDougal, and Thornton. If Owens is a starter in either left or center next year and not because of an injury, then I will vomit and bring fire ozzie signs to the park.
  10. Dont worry our offense will wake up tomorrow. Its the formula that screams pounding by our offense, a soft tossing lefty who spots the ball low and away, and we have never faced him before either. I am predicting 3 hitter into the 6th inning for Saunders. Fire Ozzie, Fire Greg, and have cora keep them both company.
  11. Another fine 3 runs attack by the 12th best offense in baseball. Soon to be 13th.
  12. Ballgame. 2.5 out of the WC and 4 out of first. Its been a nice one kids. We gone. Everyone turn and say thanks to our pathetic horrible rotten offense that has went sleepy poo in the 2nd half. And everyone thank our pull and lift coordinator Greg, my offenses suck in the 2nd half, walker. I hate our offense.
  13. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) I'd take him in left. Dude plays hard. Juan Pierre sucks in the NL, how would he play in a much better league every day.
  14. I bet you that Ozzie pulls for Owens to be our CF next year. He is a fast guy that fits Ozzies marlin style offense. Dont be too surprised if that is pushed.
  15. The easiest pitch to bunt is a breaking pitch. The hardest pitch to bunt is a high fastball. so in a bunting sit we call curve on the first pitch.
  16. Our offense coming into this game is ranked 12th with 272 runs scored. We had over 500 in the first half. The Florida Marlins of 14 million have scored 280 runs. 12 more runs and the hitting retarded Cubs will overtake us in scoring runs. With the way our O has been hitting. It might happen.
  17. Another horsehit AB by another one of our hitters with the game on the line. Thank god our offense blows donkey balls in the 2nd half of every freakin year. If they actually show up one of these years in the 2nd half I might faint.
  18. A single AJ, thats all we need. A run of the mill single to left center. Nothing more, nothing less. If it rolls into the gap good for you
  19. Gload does more in one AB than most of our team did in one game. Line drive swings are cool.
  20. At some point it would be nice for our 3-4-5 to actually contribute to the offense outside of the once a week mauling we do in one game.
  21. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) Should I run on my tippy-toes before I fall down? A nice prancing gait would help. Its the pods defensive blunders video he will be selling this offseason.
  22. Well if Dye wants the MVP a nice Jack would be sweet
  23. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:49 PM) I missed it. So, really, how bad was it? Throw yourself on the ground, and then have a friend throw the ball about 20 feet the other way.
