  1. It isnt . Players know what goes on in baseball. You hang on as long as you can get a decent paycheck. It sure beats anything the real world will pay you after you retire or no one finally wants you.
  2. Oh yeah that's definitely a thing ( he said sardonically).
  3. Decent stuff for what it was . Way too much time spent on baseball fights . WSD is an idiot with a forum which is apparently a thing because idiots are entertaining ?
  4. The Asstros had a little international guy they signed for 10K that no one else wanted . Hello Jose Altuve. They also got a power hitting LH LF from the Dodgers, Yordan Alvarez for relief pitcher Josh Fields. A Cuban who the Sox missed on somehow . So maybe Steven Wilson could get the Sox a stud . Astros also drafted Springer, Correa, Tucker Bregman and Jeremy Pena under completely different drafting rules for rebuilding teams. I think they took pitcher Brady Aiken 1st overall in 2014 but somehow ended up with Bregman as compensation the next year with the 2nd overall pick because Aiken was damaged goods. Mark Apple was another pitcher taken 1- 1 by the Astros who bombed but got traded for Ken Giles who was a key relief pitcher during the 2017 World Series win. So basically the Astros said screw drafting pitchers we'll trade for the one we already know is a stud. So they fleeced the Tigers for Verlander. But they did manage to get Keuchel and McCullers in the draft too .
  5. Eh I don't know what kind of announcers you're expecting for a bad team and jaded fanbase. We're at the point that no matter what, we whine about everything. There is no pleasing , placating, nor soothing us. Is there such an announcer that exists for this fan base that would be universally accepted as decent ? ".Here's the pitch Vaughn hits a ground ball to short for the 50th time this season . The Shortstop could run the ball over to 1st base and still get Vaughn out. Good Lord he's slow. Sit your ass down. Why are you even in the lineup ? Why you even on the team. What is Venable thinking ? What was Getz thinking ? What in heavens name is Reinsdorf doing ? That brings up Louis Robert who is 0 for 4 with 3 K's. He used to be La Pantera. Now he's just a p****... cat. Why can't we have nice things ? Meowww. "
  6. Don't play stupid with me unless it's not an act. You've been here long enough to know how things work around here. Future Sox has always been a sanctuary from the s%*# talking that goes on in Pale Hose Talk. I don't know when that was established or by who but it is a thing .Ask any long time resident here. There is precedent around here to keep overly negative comments away from the Future Sox section. Just because you feel you are in the majority and have the backing of mods who are just as down on the organization as you are, doesn't mean you can flaunt long standing rules of decorum. And yes kick a guy while he's down . A small sample size of poor performance of whoever posted that small sample size of 3 hits in last 29 ABs that prompted your he's a bum stuff . You don't think I can follow a thread ? Do you hate him or yourself that you didn't have the talent to make $3M sure signing his 1st contract , so that makes him fair game to be ridiculed ? That's so meatball using money as a barometer for attacking a young man who is just one step below the best in the world. You don't even sound like a fan unless it's of the Cubs. Hell some Cub fans are more gracious about the Sox than you are.
  7. You said he was a bust I'm saying he won't be thats all. We might not know the final results for 5 years. Just saying if you're going to kick a guy while he's down after getting hit by pitches in hand and kneecap then I can praise him while he's hot. I already know that the majors is the true test of any minor leaguer Capt. Obvious. They try to keep guys like you out of Future Sox for a reason. It's supposed to be a place that supports the process that development isn't linear patient approach instead of being too negative about prospects.
  8. Looks like I was right Friday, Sat. and Sunday are all their highest win totals and best win percentages. 4-7 Thursday might be a better win percentage than 5-9 Sat and Sunday unless your stats didn't count the last 2 days.
  9. That's on an 0-2 count .If it goes to 1-2 it's another stat.
  10. But he was declared a bust by a few people recently.Damn the experts here are worse than Getz 😋
  11. Ban bet ! If you mean he won't be traded ,then anything he's traded for is " a thing". A week without posting bet.
  12. This post was kind of for nothing. He's got 2 option years left on his contract but those can be bought out by whoever has him at the end of the season and he'll be a FA next year. No one will pick up that 1st option which effectively ends the 2nd option too since the only way to reach the 2nd option is for someone to pay him $20M next year which isn't going to happen barring some miraculous monster HR filled 2nd half and playoffs heroics. The Sox will pay down some of what remains of this years $15M which should be somewhere around $7M depending on the date they trade him. Most likely a bit under $7M so maybe the Sox pay off $3-3.5M. (If he doesn't have some major pull that'll keep him out for a month.)
  13. Another save ! Back to .333 win percentage. They just can't stay above it. When they get to it or above they drop a bunch on the road. But good pitching . Lucky that Devers has sucked against the Sox . Nice little late inning comeback . I swear the Sox get a lot of their wins on Friday, Saturday, Sunday compared to other days . I suppose I could find those records .
  14. We must be looking at 2 different things. Catcher was in the base path . He stepped into foul territory without the ball. Intentional or not he caused the runner to alter his path wider than it should have been which was why he couldn't reach the plate.
  15. You know it's possible after looking at it on the post game show Taylor did have to go around the catcher because he did have a foot in foul territory before he had the ball. If I was Venable I would've challenged that play based on interpretation of the blocking home rule . Nothing to lose at that point in the game. A runner going full speed canot change direction in the middle of a slide nor correct his running path once the catcher steps into foul territory. He had to go around the catcher . The only question is how they interpret the rule which usually says something about having the ball before you block the plate, which he did not .
  16. And he was just being fair after Wisely wasn't so wise getting picked off 3rd on a strike 3 pitch . Rare DP and Uber rally killy.
  17. That's what I said lol. I figured I was wrong. Lemme try again. 1st Major League 2 inning save !
  18. That'll do it ! 1st MLB save.
  19. Need this Taylor to make up for the other one.
  20. LFG !! Give the big crowd something to cheer for.
  21. Lol I thought of you when I saw the interview list posted. You have made it known every time Friday home game that you don't like it 😋
  22. Hometown scorer should've given Vargas a hit and RBI. Meidroth plays well at home , heads up base running especially with the late start having to head back to 2nd on the line drive Adames missed.
