5/28 - Cubs @ Sox
Saw the 1st 2 episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Liked so much that Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are in it.

Eloy took himself out of the game after a 1st inning single tonight in Charlotte.

Do the White Sox Make the Playoffs?
The biased Sox fan, hopeful me, says they still have a lot of talent that's under performing and they can't be bad all season. The cynical me says the Sox are infected with Reinsdorf Hahn Syndrome. Hopeful side wins. Better for the soul. Yes.

Watching a bit of The Hall of Fame Legends Game. Saw Jose Contreras strike out Nick Swisher and interview with Tim Raines. Raines and Contreras both wearing White Sox uniforms. Raines said he likes seeing Tim Anderson play.

When did we take the wrong turn?
Hahn is a puppet. Reinsdorf is the puppeteer.

Glad to see Dallas has pride
No but the injured reliever Hahn signed who came back May 9th is injured again, for maybe another month even though he was placed on the 15 day IL so there's that.

I know Stone was on that show on May 16th and talked some about Keuchel so I guess I'll tune into the latest podcast and check it out. Now that I listened to it the tweet is more like a promo for the show than anything. Mostly Stone said he thinks when Lynn comes back DK is the odd man out. Later he said soon but soon means when Lynn comes back. Yolbert mentioned only in passing by the hosts and Stone said I don't know and that the front office is always evaluating situations and ramifications. Stone didn't like the amount of times fielders have had near collisions and being out of position. Thinks they should be communicating more . Basic stuff.

Kinda tired of the revisionist history on this site as people complain
I probably also wrote something similar predicting how the rebuild would turn out . Maybe it was a little bit later than 2019 , maybe somewhere in 2020. Would take too much time to try and find it. But my reasoning was basically the Sox are gonna Sox it up because the whole organization is bad from the top on down and then they could use the excuses of Covid and the strike and whatever else they could blame for their own inadequacies .

When did we take the wrong turn?
And if Yoan was hitting .300 it would be guaranteed he'd have a better slugging than the .450 you listed. 2019 he hit .315 and it was .548 slugging. Remove that one good year and his career slugging of .433, which is pretty bad for a 3rd baseman, goes down to closer to .400

When did we take the wrong turn?
I don't care if anyone thinks it's TLR or Hahn , scouting ,development, drafting ,injuries, international money, analytics, or whatever. I could quote every post in here and question why any part of the organization is bad and the answer is still Jerry Reinsdorf.

When did we take the wrong turn?
Wow where to start? Actually it's really simple. The Sox are more concerned with their investors making money than they are with winning. They spend as little as they can get away with so lots of areas in the organization get neglected and underutilized and underfunded. Since all that starts at the top the one and only reason is Jerry Reinsdorf. Everything beyond that is all tied directly to him.

I think you need to be reminded that fans are not privy to a lot of info that GM's have. Also with such a diverse group of fans some are very thorough in their evaluations based on advanced stats. Some may go on career stats and others give more weight to recent stats. Some don't do any homework and parrot the more popular opinions. Some don't give their opinion because they may catch flak for it. Plus the posters who wanted to get Conforto were never actually proven wrong. If he wasn't injured and the Sox signed him we have no idea how he would've played. We were all wondering why he wasn't signing and we found out eventually that he either hurt his shoulder partying or w/e BS reason Boras gave the media.

Not true at all. There weren't a whole lot of LH hitting OF in free agency, lots of good hitting bad fielding RHH and a few bad fielding LHH like Schwarber. Conforto was deemed the best choice as a LHH and decent fielder right from the start.

I'm pretty sure I liked getting Kimbrel but thought the price was too high. I expected him to pitch well in the 8th inning but unfortunately he sucked when he wasn't closing. And I hated it when Hahn decided to keep him instead of just not picking up the option. Abreu I figured the Sox would keep him .So pretty sure I never expressed a desire to get rid of him. I was against the Conforto idea and expressed it quite a few times because I didn't like the bad year he had. When it got down to near the start of the season and the Sox hadn't picked up any lefty hitters and his market was getting smaller I said if they can get him cheap now I'm more comfortable with it. Then we heard he was hurt. Grandal yep loved that move because he got on base and the Sox needed that ,and his power and switch hitting. Never thought framing was as big a deal as people made it seem. But I usually don't criticize players as much as I do management. And I've never been one to let off steam in game threads . Players age and go through bad periods and everyone knows that the back end of some contracts won't always be good on longer term deals for veteran players. If you are going by game threads that's not usually a place to get objective opinions but Hahn does suck but part of that is because of JR. How much we'll never know.

Sox vs Sox Rubbermatch and Season Finale- 7:10 CT
Still needs to be stretched out and since he won't be pitching a 3rd inning this game , thats the reason why.

Sox vs Sox Rubbermatch and Season Finale- 7:10 CT
He hasn't pitched more than 2 innings in an outing yet this season if I'm remembering what I saw the other day.
