  1. Some seasons are better than others and disappointment is par of the course with Reinsdorf in charge. We got one World Series win in our lifetimes and plenty of Sox fans lived and died without one. That feeling you're talking about should be a minor one in the grand scheme of things. Perspective.
  2. There is always hope. The 1st 38 games do not a season make. Despite the off season suckfest as a fan you have to take pleasure in individual performances and realize that the end result is usually not winning the World Series no matter how good you are. That's really all you can do as a Sox fan. We can discuss it all endlessly of course and I know in my head who I blame but we watch baseball and the Sox because we love them both. Winning is a lot more fun than losing but am I enraged or depressed over them ? Hell no just another season to enjoy along with what is almost always the same end result.
  3. Surprised how no ones mentioned how Anderson almost willed the Sox to that win with the 2 stolen bases 2 hits,2 RBI, 2 walks. It was like he was saying if I can take walks even though I'm hitting .340 so can you and he desperately wanted to fire up the team with the 2 stolen bases. That McGuire bunt hit with 2 strikes was also a big key. BP with 4 scoreless innings.
  4. And the new Batman movie on discs.
  5. Nice to see Robert move off the plate a few inches after his 1st AB and then started hitting again. Look for it if you can watch a replay of the game. I think Beckham pointed it out but I could see it if you look at where his back foot was that 1st AB then after.
  6. Always good to win no matter the opponent.
  7. They were actually winning without Vaughn. The winning streak started then but they were winning those hockey score games. I don't think the 2 are related at all. The pitching was just very good during the winning streak and the defense was better.
  8. Tested my obscure pop culture reference and came up empty.
  9. The ledge edges just a little farther away.
  10. Edgar: 'Now there's something you don't see every day. ' Chauncey: 'What's that, Edgar? '
  11. After the 1st AB when everything was in on hands and lately that was how they were pitching him . He's also less likely to flail away on the low and away pitches if he thinks he can't reach them.
  12. Moved a little farther off the plate and it's made a difference for Luis.
  13. I don't see why every hit and run shouldn't be a straight steal. Engel has the speed to make it work on a swing and miss. Shouldn't be hitting and running unless you think your guy can steal 2nd.
  14. LOL now tony does it with Vaughn on 3rd . Hilarious.
  15. If you're not playing matchups you're not taking advantage of the 3 hitter rule for pitchers.
  16. Still hasn't really had a full season worth of PA's in his career. He's still figuring things out based of that small adjustment he made after his 1st plate appearance. I'm not sure I've ever seen Moncada change his stance.
  17. Doesn't matter. The possibility of the catcher throwing through in that situation is slim unless he wants Tim to steal home. Plus maybe the 2nd baseman covers 2nd and that ball goes through for a hit then and it's 1 st and 3rd , another run home and still 1 out.
  18. 2nd pitch was the perfect time for Robert to run. The pitcher didnt even look at him. If you cant run Robert on 1st and 3rd with Tim on 3rd and Abreu up when are you going to run him ?
  19. He did move a little bit further off the plate so he wouldn't get jammed as much after his 1st AB
  20. Damn it I wanted Robert to run on that 2nd pitch .
  21. He's never been a 500 AB's per season guy. He does well ususally when he does play whether its 200, 300 or 400 PA . Outside of when he was 27 and got some MVP votes and close to 700 PA's he just hasn't stayed on the field long enough.
  22. Not true at all Caulfield . His OPS since he was 30 is better than his career OPS. Probably closer to .830
