  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) Erstad grinds his way on base.
  2. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) When did Ross learn to play RF? You mean left?
  3. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:12 PM) Holy crap, I just saw the lineup. Darin Erstad as a DH and leading off???? I mean come on. Is that a joke? This is the same man who DH'd Timo Perez. No it is not a joke.
  4. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) I've gone through a roll in one wipe before. I devour toilet paper. iPod's, PS3's and now toilet paper. What's next?
  5. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 06:47 PM) How many teams in baseball wanted Frank Thomas after the 2005 season? ONE. And Billy Beane was very reluctant and did lots of due diligence first. How many teams wanted Darin Erstad? At least two. Are you dense? I wasn't comparing them as players, I was making a point that everyone deserves the opportunity to come back from an injury....and that Erstad was a lot younger than Thomas. And nowhere near the talent level, what's your point?
  6. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) I like the Eclipse because it's got a little power under the hood while the Civic is economical and has less HP, but I have heard the Civic is a better car. For more HP I know exhaust is a place to start. What are some of the little things that can give you a few more HP? There are the obvious things stated by StrangeSox such as weight reduction and exhaust. Other options include Cold Air Intake, Cams, Headers, etc. If you really want to go all out you can get forced air induction (aka Turbo) as well. A site I would suggest that might help out is http://forums.clubrsx.com/index.php I learned a lot there just from browsing different forums. It is mainly designed for people who drive the RSX. However, a lot of the info can be helpful to you since you are thinking of buying a Honda (which owns Acura). Also, I am sure there are Honda, Civic, etc. message boards out there as well. QUOTE(Balance @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) I've never driven a RWD car, so I can't help you there. But if you're looking for a good balance of fun, performance, and year-round practicality, take a look at the Acura RSX Type-S. I have an '04. Alas, the last model year they made them was '06. Still, it's fun, it looks good, it gets about 28 mpg when I have a mix of city and highway driving, it's 200 HP, 6-speed manual, FWD, and you don't have to keep it in the garage in the winter. It's a great car. Haha, you drive an RSX as well Balance? I wish I had known a little more going in to buy mine as it was my first car purchase on my own. I got the base instead of the S and now I wish I had a ride with a bit more power.
  7. Anderson now 3 walks away from being tied with Erstad....in about 64 less plate appearances
  8. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) There you go, the BA appearance. Who?
  9. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 07:37 PM) I'll add a question of my own. How do low profile tires drive in the snow on a FWD car? I am also looking for another car these days and like any other college student I am on a tight budget. I am looking at a Civic, Accord, and an Eclipse. Any other suggestions or comments on the cars I listed? I have a friend who has a Mustang and had a Thunderbird both RWD and you really have to learn how to drive it in the snow and its tendencies. His Mustang has traction control which makes things a lot easier so I think once you get used to it along with the traction control it shouldn't be too bad. I would go for the Honda if I were you. If you are looking at the older Eclipse that might be alright. Some decent ones with AWD and Turbo. However, I have heard nothing but bad things about the newer Eclipses. Also, how much money do you want to spend on a car which the producing company almost went under a year ago? Civic and the Accord are both nice cars. I think the V6 Accord coupe is pretty slick. Also the Civic SI is a pretty economical car with some guts.
  10. Erstad with line drive #1 on the year. Woop woop/.
  11. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) Buehrle's getting knocked around a little bit here A little bit? The Royals are to the rum bottle as Buehrle is to the face of Sammy Sosa's wife.
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) A metric f***-ton of grounders. Sounds like a Darin Erstad wet dream.
  13. QUOTE(bigruss22 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) Meche at 96 pitches with Pierzynski lining out, bullpen time? I hope so, they arent very deep there. They shouldn't be deep, we have half their old bullpen.
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) Hey DJ why dont you crawl your ass back in your chair and shuddup. paullie does the walk
  15. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) Where is fathom? does he post during games anymore? I'm sure he is spending time with his fiance which has to be infinitely more entertaining than watching Erstad hit one to 2B 5 times a game.
  16. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) It's official, Meche has 6 pitches. Have the Sox faced a pitcher with less than 5? Dice K Meche is the new rage in KC. Haven't you heard?
