QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 08:13 PM) Not sure who you are referring to. The reason Wisconsin hasnt lost to Indiana since January 31, 2007 (Indiana stormed the court that day, guess their fans knew it would be a long time before they beat Wisconsin) really hasnt had anything to do with non-athletic white players. If you are referring to Rob Wilson last year, he is actually a black athletic player who never got a lot of minutes because he was to careless with the ball. The year before Wisconsin got 28 points and 39 points out of Jordan Taylor, another non-white player. There is a certain irony about Indiana fans saying "non-athletic white guy". That being said, I guess you can make up any excuse for why Wisconsin has beaten Indiana, but seeing as Im pretty sure not one player on the Indiana team has ever been part of a team that has beat Wisconsin, I think its a little more than the fluke you make it out to be. To be clear though. Wisconsin should be a severe underdog tomorrow, no real reason to believe they will win. Outside of the Illinois game, they havent been that good and its on the road. I will never forget Brian Butch banking in a game-winning 3 in 2008. Grrr. I was sitting right there and could see it perfectly.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 02:00 PM) Yeah me too. I am thinking Indiana +10. Illinois shot more free throws than Wisconsin at the Kohl Center. Wisconsin would need shoot out of their minds from 3 to even have a chance. Well at least both of us think our teams will do poorly.

Got a bad feeling about the Wisconsin game tomorrow.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 10:17 PM) Beat indiana. please. Hey now.
-
That's as clearly as I've heard "f***" on a live broadcast recently.
-
Oh hey, announcers are right for once. Bertrand should have trailed and gone for block, instead of a clear path foul.
-
What in the hell.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 08:55 PM) Brian Kelly interviewed with the Eagles today. There was rumor the Bears were jnterested but Dan Pompei is shooting it down I sure hope they're not interested. As a general rule, I'm not a big fan of the hire-the-hot-college-coach approach.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 08:48 PM) I looked it up, the ball going over the backboard is out of bounds. That is now three calls that the refs flat-out did not know it seems. I think once it actually goes backward (as this one obviously did), it's out of bounds. If it bounces straight up/comes back towards the hoop side of the glass, it's still in bounds.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 03:25 PM) The top 6 are locks for the tourney IMO. There will be losses, mostly on the road, and because of that people will continue to move teams down the rankings. Agreed. I think at least one of Iowa/Wisconsin make it in, maybe both.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 03:15 PM) Anyone who says they "dont buy" any of the top teams in the conference are quite frankly morons. There are going to be losses all over the conference and teams will drop in the rankings but that doesnt make them any less competitive overall in the country. I agree, but the issue is where you draw the the dividing line for "top teams." I've seen some commentators do it after only Michigan and IU, some do those two plus Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio St, Michigan State. I'd say the rankings right now are something like this.... Michigan Indiana Minnesota Illinois Ohio State Michigan State Iowa Wisconsin Purdue Northwestern Penn State Nebraska Michigan is clearly the top, and we'll know more about Minnesota after these next two road games against Illinois and Indiana. I would say those top 3 teams are better than the rest right now. It's a long conference season and who knows where it will all end up.

Good first episode for Justified.
-
Wow. Ravenel misses the dunk and Terone Johnson accidentally knocks it back in. Ohio State is deservedly winning, but Purdue is playing much better than they did when I last watched them against Illinois.
-
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 10:27 PM) Yes I know rankings don't matter. And id point this out even if it wasn't Illinois. But come on. You shouldn't be allowed to vote if you're this stupid or biased. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball...and-who-and-who Wow that's dumb. Of the five teams mentioned (Illinois, Cincinnati, Butler, Ohio State, Gonzaga), Butler actually scares me the most, but that's probably because I have sad/scary memories of last month's debacle. But with the way rankings work, Illinois should be ranked the highest.

No matter what happens ND will have had a great season...but having them get steamrolled in the championship will at least mostly make up for all the supposed Irish fans I've had to listen to for the past few weeks (months?). -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 12:41 PM) I've been on board since day 1, but my wife jumped in start of last season and really enjoyed it and only had a few questions. I think you'd be ok, but I highly recommend the final like 5 episodes of season 1 and season 2 someday. Great tv. Last season blew the first two away, though. Yeah, I picked it up cold with Season 3 last year; I think I'd only seen part of one episode once before that, and I that was it. I didn't feel like I was missing too much, if anything. Stoked for tomorrow's premiere.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 6, 2013 -> 10:48 PM) Maybe he's just waiting until next year. Gotta think the axe is going to fall on Oregon sooner than later. This. Seems inevitable. He's gotta pull a Carroll at some point.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 6, 2013 -> 06:43 PM) More like fantastic! Giving Georgetown-Tennessee a run for their money.

Northwestern beating Minnesota 13-11...with 3:57 left in the first half. What the hell.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 6, 2013 -> 07:03 AM) Cheers my friend. She was born on Friday and is sleeping right next to me at the hospital right now. Life is good. Congrats! Make sure to get her a Sox onesie, all the other one-week-olds will be jealous.

Branden Dawson punched a Purdue player after a bucket. That's not good for him. EDIT: Here's the video http://www.thedetroitsportssite.com/2013/0...oll-video/28485

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 5, 2013 -> 02:44 PM) Did anyone see the ref try to make out with Groce to end the 1st half? It was funny. Illinois not playing that great (in stretches they certainly are) and still mauling OSU. Yeah that was funny, running up to Groce with his hands behind his back. Illinois has looked ok (you're right, it's been in stretches), but I've been really unimpressed with Ohio State. I haven't seen them much this year, I think this is the first time I've really watched them.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 5, 2013 -> 02:16 PM) I'd love for the surprise of this week to be Minny beating GB because of AP, dude deserves to go far in the playoffs, he is such a beast, especially considering the knee injury. Yeah I want the Viqueens to stick it to Lambeau.
