  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) You realize the guy managing our team was probably hitting pretty close to .205 after his first 270 ABs, right? I think he turned out pretty OK. And went something like 0-41 also. I think he turned out pretty good for sure. Yes, Tyler strikes out too much, but he was a role player and not getting steady playing time can affect your timing at the plate. I loved AJP and wish he were still here, but Tyler is the catcher now and there is no doubt in my mind that he will work his tail off to improve.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 02:44 PM) Ehh, I don't dispute Crede as the playoff MVP, but there was virtually no one who didn't contribute during the playoffs that year. It was an incredible team effort. You win or lose as a team for sure and sometimes one of the team helps a bit more but over a season it's an entire team effort
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 07:16 PM) He went to the Moises Alou School of Peeing On Your Hands as a Batting Glove Substitue I thought that was pickle brine juice?
  4. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 10:57 PM) WHY IS THIS TEAM WINNING IN SPRING TRAINING, SAVE THOSE WINS FOR THE REGULAR SEASON YOU IDIOTS! ------ WOOOO 3-0-2, HAVEN'T LOST YET, GREAT SIGNS FOR THE SEASON just covering both bases here And you did a good job too
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 10:49 PM) Geezuz, with the lack of 3b's in the sox system why would you trade ANYONE who can play the position? That was my question too. But, Gillaspie and Keppinger may be your future at 3B and either Beckham or Sanchez
  6. Josh Phegley turns a fastball around and puts it in the Sox bullpen. 13-6 Sox
  7. Morel hits rocket liner off leg of Texas pitcher Ortega
  8. Ranger play-by-play announcers raving about a great diving play by Morel, who throws out runner from his knees
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 10:37 PM) He's a friend of mine and has had horrible injury luck. He's one of the nicest most humble guys I've ever met. Well for what it is worth I liked Neal Cotts when he was with the Sox
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 08:52 PM) Huge game. Can't afford to slip further in the Cactus League standings. I know. Can't get much worse than a 1-0-2 start
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) Call it a hunch, but I don't think it was just Ozzie. I just don't think Swisher was very popular in the locker room. The whole bat incident seemed to rub a lot of people the wrong way. It seemed that team had a lot of conflicting personalities and egos, yet they won the division. Maybe... He isn't well liked by other players it seems, but he is a talent you kind of like on your team. I remember when he was in Oakland and the Big Hurt signed there. Swisher was excited and worshipped Frank.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 04:19 PM) I have a hard time with Swisher, as I really think Ozzie f***ed that one up more than anything. I liked Ozzie but I agree with your take on Swisher. I think it must have been a personality clash. Swisher can rub people the wrong way and we know Ozzie does for sure. The two of them just didn't seem to get on the same page
  13. Listened to Giants radio to hear Sox comeback to 9-9 tie in bottom of 8th
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 25, 2013 -> 10:18 PM) More afraid of Cleveland. They're 4-0 to starting Spring Training. They are for real dog. They made some improvements for sure. Wonder about that pitching staff
  15. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Feb 25, 2013 -> 10:04 PM) Yeah, they'll definitely win the division by ~12 games, just like last year. You can tell because of that spring training home run! This one time, Joe Borchard hit a home run, and that wasn't even spring training! You can imagine my excitement The sky is falling in game 3 of the spring training schedule. I have questions that need answering: Konerko hasn't hit a homer yet- is he through? Carlos Sanchez made an error is he overhyped? Santiago and Reinzo got blasted - are they just flash in the pans? Veal got touched up for a run - is he washed up? I love spring training
  16. QUOTE (floridafan @ Feb 25, 2013 -> 08:13 PM) Not Me! I have never been more excited about spring training in my entire life!!! I love the White Sox and enjoy hearing what the front office is up to, even when they bring in yet another 3rd baseman! I am stoked! Keep it going! I am looking forward to learning about team assignments, and getting out to some games. If money were no object I would be hanging on the the fences right now! Love your enthusiasm
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Feb 23, 2013 -> 06:39 PM) Keppinger goes to second, with Morel at third. I think Beckham is at his salary cap for for the Sox unless he shows improvement. Keep Sanchez at short to as a possibility to eventually replace Ramirez. I am not sure what you don't see in Beckham but I have a feeling he is going to have a break out year. Beckham-Ramirez-Sanchez (and who at firstbase for the future?) Konerko will retire at some point and will we keep Dunn at the salary he is making? Salary cap applies to guys like Dunn with 200 plus K's and a low batting average IMO
  18. Chisox 7-0 in 9th. I am so excited that baseball has started playing games - don't care if it is just ST
  19. QUOTE (BlackJack @ Feb 22, 2013 -> 04:59 PM) Mark Gonzales ‏@MDGonzales Sox OF Jordan Danks right flexor strain, expected to miss only a few days. I was searching to find out why young OF'ers were supposed to get chances because Jordan Danks was out. Thanks for posting this upcdate. What's the latest on his flexor problem?
  20. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Feb 23, 2013 -> 04:49 PM) The competition is Morel or Beckham in 2014 and going forward. What are you suggesting Marty? Beckham at 3B next year? I for one think he would be a great option at 3B since he did so well there when first moved. Carlos Sanchez might be better suited for 2B and even though Gordon has show gold glove ability if we keep Sanchez then 2B might be his best position. He can play 3B also but not sure that it is the best fit for the team.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 22, 2013 -> 08:36 PM) I'd assume this puts Morel right where he belongs, in AAA until someone gets hurt or he hits his way back to the big leagues. I tend to agree with you on this. I think Morel still needs to prove himself physically able to make it through the season and that his bat is going to make contact with the ball
  22. With this trade I see competition at 3B and that isn't a bad thing. Folks still ragging on Beckham and I just don't see it. Keppinger is a super utilityman that probably gets the nod at 3B with Morel and Gillaspie pushing for playing time, but to somehow suggest that this trade for a guy with just a few games in the majors somehow bodes as a possible replacement for Gordon Beckham is nonsensical. The sox are committed to Beckham and should be. This is insurance at 3B and nothing else plus he hits left handed. Morel is the one that probbaly should be worried and even there I think the Sox want to see what he can still deliver this season-by using spring training as the gauge.
  23. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 09:01 PM) The Sox lost. Were they wearing different colors today? Or one black and one white LOL
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 10:17 PM) This has been in the works for a while. What does the interstate look like this year? No construction I hope
  25. Thanks for posting. Great info. Lots of fun to read
