  1. This is what you pay to see Sox fans. Dunn and PK back to back bombs
  2. Peavy is looking good and Colon good enough. Real duel throiugh three
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 01:00 AM) Sure. With Viciedo though what are we looking at? We'd be satisfied if he turned out to be a Nelson Cruz-type. That's a good everyday corner OF'er, but nothing you should build a season around developing.\\ Nelson Cruz ain't so bad is he?
  4. QUOTE (forrestg @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:09 PM) Battle of the resurging Colon vs the resurging Peavy. Or how many fans will see this epic battle of 2 former Cy young winners do battle in the colliseum. In Oakland I am thinking 16000. I think what we need to do is stay close and if Peavy is as on as he has been he can batle Colon, if Bart is on his game. Then you get into their bullpen and win
  5. QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 06:54 PM) And no one has found a way around it? What kind of idiots do have have at that school? What is the American higher educaion system coming to?
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) IN OTHER BREAKING NEWS The sky is blue. Not when it's cloudy
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 04:42 PM) I really doubt the Sox could trade Rios right now even if they ate half the contract. If he continues to play well and a team is willing to take it, you move him, and be happy. The chances of him living up to the contract for its duration is slim. Same goes for Dunn. They aren't going to be hot forever. Go back a week and see where they were at. A week or 2 from now, they may be heading back there. Hopefully not, but I don't know how anyone can be convinced they will now be stars based an a week or so. I know what you are saying but hitters are streaky, Dunn for instance can hit homers for a week staight and then go a week without. Giving up now and you run the risk of sending away someone who can help. Large contracts will be tough to move certainly and it seems almost all trades anymore involve a team eating some of that salary. I just prefer to win. Now things can certainly change come All-Star break
  8. Tue 04/24/12 White Sox @ Oakland 9:00 PM WGN (EDT) Thu 04/26/12 White Sox vs Boston 7:00 PM WGN The game on Thursday versus the Red Sox may also be on MLB Network and Humber is scheduled to pitch. See you all behind the big screen
  9. I was more than willing to let non performers of 2011 like Rios, Dunn and Peavy go but baseball fans have short memories. They are perfomring now and hopefull ths continues. We are contending and even when not hitting on all cylinders seem to stay in the games. Maybe we have turned the corner after last season and now we are going to support or call for trades of Rios and Floyd? Let's be happy for a little while.
  10. The only thing that upset me with this series is that I couldn't be there in person. I usually make plans to go to Seattle when the Sox are there but couldn't pull it off this time
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 11:04 PM) I like the umpires in this series! Yes. You have to like that called third strike to Suzuki
  12. QUOTE (SI1020 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 10:51 PM) True. If you want to know what the brass thinks Hawk will let you know. He got run out of Boston for being too blunt and abrasive on the air and learned his lesson. You're not going to have broadcasters like Bob Prince and Harry Caray (pre Cubs) who aren't afraid to criticize the team they broadcast for. I remember those guys. Harry and Jimmy Piersall were too honest about things they were seeing on the field
  13. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 10:47 PM) Morel followed by Beckham is just BAD. That was a good inning potentially ruined by these two black holes in the line-up. Christ they look LOST... Gordon's swing on that pitch was so defensive and awful You can carry them as long as we win. Give them time to work through their issues. I see good things coming from those guys. Look at how folks including me were screaming about Dunn and Rios
  14. QUOTE (K-Rock @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 10:41 PM) Hawk just continuously s***ting on Ozzie... "what a change" "the mentality of this team is so different than last year" Hawk knows who butters his bread
  15. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 11:09 PM) Yeah they did and thankfully they didnt get him some things do work out don't they?
  16. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 11:03 PM) Figgins is just having a terrible job doing his lead-off man duties. At one time the Sox supposedly had their sights set on Figgins
  17. Stepped away and returned with the Sox leading. Then Danks gives up alead off walk. Cripes!
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 10:42 PM) There's about a 5-6 mph difference between fastball and change-up. On Dank's pitches or on an average for a pitcher in general?
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 10:34 PM) Most important thing in my opinion is the lack of difference in velocity between fastball and change-up. That is a major concern for sure. Dead-arm leading to overthrowing the ball, no control & too many walks or can't get the change up working right or whatever Danks has just not looked all that sharp this early in the season for a guy touted as the new staff ace. Maybe he is just putting pressure on himself?
  20. As much as I am a Lillibrodge supporter what kind of at bat was that? Took five pitches and three for strikes
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 10:29 PM) There Danks reached back for a little something extra on the fastball, got it up to 91. Well, it's still a ballgame, boys. Offense on paper SHOULD be able to score more than 2 runs against Kevin Freakin' Millwood. Maybe not 5 or 10 years ago, but this version of him. One would hope
