  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 10:29 PM) So far this season, his average fastball is at 89.8, down from 91.6 the last 2 years. I did see that in at lest one game I was able to watch. That couple miles off can make a difference, but I think control has been a problem too
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) I remember quite a few Sunday games in Seattle where it looked like the team had absolutely no focus Probably bad seafood and too much imported Japanese beer
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 10:22 PM) Danks seems to be short-arming everything. Absolutely no zip to his fastball...hopefully just dead arm like you said. Dead-arm? This early in the season. What is it his third or forth start?
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 04:00 AM) Ramirez elrockinMT wants Flowers nightni: I am back and it appears Flowers is not in the lineup so I am taking DUNN. (posted at 12:30 PM MDT)
  5. I was on the road Friday but got to watvh the game on WGN. Dunn looked great. Fun game and good pitching by Sale. He can be a bit inconsistent and still is real good. Imagine the results when he has it all together
  6. So much more enjoyable when they are playing good and even when they lose they seem to be fighting
  7. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 02:06 AM) Rios is a target because of his offensive woes and contract, however he is a better defensive CF'er than De Aza. OK I can agree with the offense part but what about the D?
  8. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 12:23 AM) I've come to the conclusion that Rios is a better CF'er than De Aza, they should switch positions. Also Rios should be moved to the second spot in the order. Interesting take on things Marty, but why do you think that? What do you see now with Rios that wasn't there last year?
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) He took a high but clearly in the strike zone breaking ball over the plate for strike 3. Then stood at the plate arguing with the umpire while he got tagged out. There was very little chance he would have been safe, as the ball got away from the catcher's glove maybe 10-15 feet.....but he should have run to force the catcher to make the throw, maybe it gets away miraculously and the White Sox tie up the ballgame somehow. Just selfish instincts there to completely forget the situation. selfishness or just plain old frustration?
  10. That sucks. Once again we leave the bases loaded for lack of the clutch hit and lose
  11. Wow! Tha was a great inning there vy the Sox. NOT!
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 09:30 PM) Hard to fault Lilli right now...he hasn't played enough to be held to any kind of productive standard... That's what I think also. Needs to see live pitchers to get timing down
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) For f***s sake, fix the 2-hole. With who?
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) More of that please, Nate Jones. I like the kid. Sure hope he doesn't self destruct in mid season. He looks like he has some talent for sure
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) Just seems like no matter how Ventura configures the lineup, there are 3 guys in it you just know have no chance to contribute that day. Lillibridge should never start against RHP, and still not sure why Escobar is in the majors. Oh well, maybe we can get two guys on and let our best hitter PH today (and no, I don't mean Morel). Viciedo has not looked all that good either. But, they all have potential to break out I am cocnerned aout the number of home runs the pitchers give up and the number of wiffs by our hitters
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) The most exciting thing about the remainder of this game is seeing if we can manage 10,000 in attendance when they announce it. This is sad. Our hitters have struck out like 10 times total today. What is it with these guys? But, even if we lose we are at .500 however there is still some innings left today
  17. Tough 1st inning. Our pitcher puts us in the hole and our offense can't produce that big hit to get us out of it. Kind of an old story. But, we have 8 more chances
  18. Lots of comments and analysis on Gordon Beckhams swing, etc. It's almost like we think he isn't working on getting better or is a tremendous flop. Beckham will be working on his own and with those on the team that can help him get back to where he needs to be. It would be interesting to go back to when Robin V went 0-41 and see what fans were saying back them about Ventura. Robin is in Beckham's corner and that's good enough for me. I am sure if the organizations leadership thought Beckham was a lost cause we would have seen him gone by now. Patience and hard work will pay off and I think the kid can do it. It's not like he was a long term vet on his way down. He is a young talented player with a future.
  19. The Sunday line up on Thursday looks good to me and Floyd pitching after watching Peavy dazzle is also good. I strongly predict we might win this thing today.
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 02:16 AM) AJ batting a cool .778 so far this week! Player of the week maybe?
  21. Beckham trying to go opposite field there but out
  22. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 02:13 AM) Holy crap has AJ looked phenomenal so far.... He should be an All-Star selection right now!
  23. It is at least encouraging that Adam Dunn gets some walks mixed in with all thoses K's. Hopefully he starts belting some baseballs around the park again
