  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2012 -> 07:59 PM) Why? Because no one thought we would be in first place this late in the season, and why not enjoy it No argument here
  2. I think the idea of allowing an expanded roster in these cases is a good idea, but it's not like our long relievers have been stretched out or overworked
  3. I predict Phil Humber will be back to form tonight
  4. Do you think the novelty of inter league play has subsided? I enjoyed it in 2005 when the Sox were in Denver and we were able to take in the series, but really you should be battling teams in your own league for the championship. I know the arguments that can be made about baseball needing to refresh itself and all that and they do make sense, but one of the true beauties of this game is the history. Of couirse you can then argue we shoudn't have a DH, which I think was a good move for half of baseball
  5. Humber and Konerko win this award for the Sox and things don't look so bad after one month
  6. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 26, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) I will go out on a limb and make a prediction but I will wait till the end of April to let you all know if I was right I was right!
  7. Gavin has had a couple back to back good games
  8. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) After the way Lillibridge performed today, he should be starting in place of Beckham for a while. Heck, even Escobar showed today that he can give better ABs than Beckham has been giving this season. Maybe they can platoon Lillibridge with Escobar at 2B and use Beckham as a utility infielder for which he is most suited. If Morel continues to struggle they can alternate Beckham in at 3B every now and then. Either that or just send Beckham down to work on his swing and bring up a third catcher to free up Flowers and AJ to PH more. It all makes perfect sense don't you know
  9. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 01:36 PM) Nine possible answers and the most logical one is missing. Come on, C! The weather needs to be a tad bit warmer so those hard hit balls go farther for the Sox. Is that it? At lest that's what we are always told
  10. This is the type of challenge Jake likes to meet head on. A good team to challenge him and a Sox losing streak. Hope our bad luck ends tonight
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:58 AM) The Sox have scored in ten different innings when Danks has pitched. He's allowed a run in the opponent's next half inning 6 times. Thanks for the stat. I confirms what I had thought, but I actually thougfht he had done it more times
  12. Bard feared facing our bottom three hitters and threw that wild pitch, We are tied
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 02:07 AM) Our hitters really have to learn how to foul off tough 2 strike pitches. They leave themselves to the umpire's mercy an awful lot. Agreed. They seem to take a lot of two strike pitches and not protect the plate
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:58 AM) Nice job by Danks against Youk You can get mad at Danks for his inconsistency but the guy battles hard
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 12:52 AM) Danks fastball is the 87-89 range this inning. He was quoted in the Chisox.com story today about being mad at himself for giving up leads right away. Well, he did it again I see by giving up the homer to left swiging Ortiz
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 12:48 AM) I do not like it but, KW will keep him around to justify he did not make a mistake drafting him. I don't think he made a mistake in drafting Beckham
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 12:49 AM) People have said his defense at 2b is worth a first year arb offer ($2.5 mil or so). He is playing great d and the bat will come around IMO
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:51 PM) Sox need to start winning at home before home turns into the pit it's been the past couple seasons. Even mediocre teams finish 10 over .500 at home. Start winning at home please, White Sox. You would think we would have a team builr to win at home. We used to
  19. Axelrod up but always confusing when they use a starter as reliever
