  1. Well, I was behind the big screen but the Sox never showed up. Very disappointing performance on Saturday night
  2. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 01:48 PM) really? you're surprised? elrockin, you and marty are all the same person after all. dude listen, pods was great for what he was in 2005 - and i'll love him for that - but in 2012 he's NOT A GOOD BASEBALL PLAYER. This is what you always forget - you think back and glorify the past and ignore what matters NOW. Today. In this moment. Here we go again with the sci-fi conspiracy posts. Respect others and their comments and opinions. Pods and others who have worn Sox uniforms deserve some respect from the fans. That is respectful baseball IMO
  3. We have these games from time to time and they are frustrating. Offense goes south against pitchers who have been struggling. There were some things that just didn't go right for the Sox including the home plate ump squeezing Sale in the 1st and a bad play by Beckham. Sale did ok otherwise and that is encouraging to see. Let's get on a winning strreak starting Sunday for our momma's
  4. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ May 12, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) HUZAHH!! one of the few times I get to watch them play live this year, excited I get to see Sale pitch a whole game too. I will see you behind the big screen!
  5. Rain delay in Chitown. I have to watch Funniest Videos for 30 minutes LOL
  6. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 12, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) Scott Podsednik picked up by BoSox. Say what you want but I still think Pods can help a team
  7. WGN-TV 6:10 PM CDT start in Chicago and we get to see Chris Sale start after all the hullabaloo or however you spell that. Go for it Sox
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 12, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) Beckham has a lot of talent. People forget his second half of 2010 before he broke his hand. He had an .875 OPS. There's no reason he shouldn't put up an .800 + OPS every year. Hopefully its coming to him now. He was starting to look much better before he got some hits, and now the hits are coming. I still think he's a stud of a player. I think sticking with Gordon was the best thing for the Sox but wait till he has a couple of oh-fer days and watch the posts then
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2012 -> 08:47 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen ‏ @CST_soxvan Morel was late scratch wednesday with sore low back. He said he was ok after game. But still out after off day. Back problems lingering. What the heck is it with Sox 3Bmen and back issues? Iwonder if Joe Crede is healed up enough from his surgeries to try a comeback?
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 11, 2012 -> 11:34 PM) @whitesox: KW on when he will pitch next: "As of now, he is going to start tomorrow." Game on Saturday being broadcast on WGN
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ May 11, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) I'd be okay with risking Thornton for Youkilis... but Gavin Floyd? gtfo With all due respect for your opinion mine is No thanks!
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 11, 2012 -> 06:34 PM) I don't despise Rogers as much as most. I like reading him. He blasts KW all the time and I don't mind it since I don't think much of KW's body of work the last several years, but this is exactly the type of move he's blasted KW for making the past few years. It makes zero sense. Youkilis is constantly on the DL, his production is slipping quickly and he makes a ton of money. Why would you trade Thornton and Floyd with Youk being the big piece back? If you really wanted Youkilis, I bet you Boston would give him away if you took all the money and would give him up for just about anyone saving them cash. I agree. He suggests sending two real good pitchers for a guy currently on the DL and then says it wil make the Sox instant contenders and I don't think he really meant the Chisox
  13. Success this year will likely depend on this team beating up on the likes of the Royals and Twins. Let's see if things turn around from past years when the both played us tight
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 9, 2012 -> 11:29 PM) Ummm...not really. Our current options at 3B are: Lillibridge Escobar Kuhn McPherson None of those are good options. Only Lillibridge if he was hitting like last season, but he's still more of a platoon/role player and there are a bunch of questions about his defense on the infield, especially on the left side. I am still thinking we have options and am talking long term here also. We are forgetting many called for a rebuilding of this club, but now we seem to be thinking we can contend. I think we can contend also and prefer to call it retooling, but first let's have some patience. Retooling might involve a couple internal moves
  15. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 11, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) Phil won't give up: Thornton + Floyd for Youkilis + prospects? Crazy talk! Two quality pitchers for a broken down 3Bman and who knows what
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 10, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) JFP has managed to shut up the people who wanted him to shut up. So far he sure has, but it's a long season. I wish the best for Jake and hope he continues his winning ways and stays healthy. The man is a competitor for sure. However, even oif he continues to win, I think he owes this team something for sticking with him. He isn't going to make $22M with any team in 2013 so maybe he will look at giving a discount to the Sox? Maybe just dreaming but what the heck
  17. I think it might be possible that the Nations #1 Sox fan Barack Obama reads our board and even posts under an assumed name
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 10, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) [/b] I wonder if Santiago would be a better candidate right now, so that he can find his off speed stuff. It isn't like we are loaded with lefties or anything. I think he would be at this point in time. If they make him a starter do it now at AAA
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 10, 2012 -> 05:22 AM) Plus, all those guys returning from injury like Buster Posey will be under consideration. Jamie Moyer would be a very sentimental pick, but highly unlikely. Unless I am mistaken, which hs happened once or twice, I think there is a player in each league selected?
  20. We do have some good young arms in the pen with some vets there to stabillize it. The youngsters at times can be a bit inconsistent but overall the pitching has been really strong
  21. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 10, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) Dunn's HR last night was said to be 425 feet. The blast the other day in Detroit was apparently only 422 feet. One of those measurements is wrong. I'm guessing the one in Detroit. Tigers wanted to hide the ugly truth
  22. Nice to see life in our line up. I liked what Dunn had to say about- I don't feel hot - in agroove- or something like that but hitting like he is now and if he really does get hot we could see a lot of fireworks
