6/6 Thread - Sox vs. Indians - 3:05pm CDT on Fox
elrockinMT replied to knightni's topic in 2009 Season in Review
Let's not get shut out again no matter what happens. The game is on Fox but I see here we get the Mariner's and the Twinkees. Oh wheeeeee! Yuck! -
There is stat being thrown around that if Saturday's game ends with the Sox being shut out it will be the first time since July1969 the team has been shut out three consecutive games. There are so many firsts of a negative nature this year with this team it is getting pretty embarassing

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 01:59 PM) Oakland and Cleveland are 2 of the worst opponents we could face and we're getting smoked. What's going to happen when we start facing teams like Detroit, Boston and New York? We might get more than smoked maybe incinerated?

QUOTE (Cochise @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 09:16 PM) So the Good Guys are home for the next 12 games, 5 of which are against the Tigers. How many do you all think we'll win? In what place will we be on June 12? I think we'll go 7-5 and I'd be satisfied with that. Oakland: 3-1 Cleveland: 2-1 Detroit: 2-3 Detroit plays Boston and the Angels between now and coming to the Cell for 5. Hopefully they'll beat up on the Kittens. On June 12, I'd like to see the Sox still in second and nipping at Detroit's heels, maybe like 1.5 games out or better. Thoughts? Turn around the Oakland result, but so far you are right on Cleveland. Your still hanging in there. Amazing thing to me is with even how had we are doing the team is only 3 1/2 out

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 05:46 AM) I don't mind him calling out the emailers once in a while. It's funny and I'm not big on anonymous emails. I doubt many of them sign their real names. I could be mistaken on that. At least he gives reasons for what he does in his rants against the fans. Sometimes people don't care about his reasons, though. I think I agree with that. People think we have to win every game. a season of 162-0 would be nice, but it ain't gonna happen. You just hope they give their best every game

QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) channel? I am not 100% sure yet, but I don't think any Sox games are on even WGN this weekend. That would suck because I would like to see Beckham play and maybe Castro -

How did Nate McLouth end up in Atlanta and not here?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 10:37 PM) McClouth would just be benched behind Wise anyway. Sad but probably true -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) MMclouth is an overrated defensive player with a decent bat. The Pirates were not actively shopping him, the Braves approached them, and “blew them out of the water.” I imagine KW has more important things on his mind. Disagree. ESPN BBTN classified this trade as a steal for Atlanta and that McClouth is a good talent. I don't think they gave up that much to get the guy. -

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 09:16 PM) 28.57% of our losses have been via the shutout.. EPIC. Everyone of our contributors from last year and were traded were replaced with people who just haven't done a thing. Whart do we have to show now for instance with the Swisher trade? -

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 08:06 PM) Well, its painfully obvious that if you want to beat the Sox, just throw some no-name scrub out there. Guaranteed victory. The higher the ERA, the more likely he is to win. And we were looking so good until the last three games and we ran into this buzz saw that are the A's. Two shutouts. Pathetic display again and if this is what we continue to experience from this group it ain't gonna be fun. I just don't want to give up hope that all of a sudden they start to click adn we take off -

QUOTE (almagest @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 07:40 PM) K. Farmer seems to think the pitcher is working us over pretty well, and I'd tend to agree, based on Beckham's performance. My money is on the following lines tomorrow: "He had movement on his ball." "He kept us off balance." "He is a good pitcher." "WE HAVEN'T SEEN HIM BEFORE." -

Once again runner at second less than two outs and we can't get the ball out of the IF.
