  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 05:06 PM) Kenny isn't going into firesale mode yet, if ever. If he makes trades, its for now AND later. Exactly. Plus here we go again with undervaluing our own players.
  2. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) Who was the Dodger Jewish OF that took off a Jewish Holiday right in the middle of the pennant race?? Koufax was Jewish and would not pitch during a Jewish religious event
  3. The Sox have options no doubt as far as trades, but trades will be made to improve now and not as a fire sale for prospects who might be years away. It's beginnig to be like a broken record with some: trade Dye, Trade Konerko, trade Jenks, etc. You don't trade the guys who are producing if you are contending for a pennant and anyone who doesn't think we can contend just ain't looking at the standings. All we need to be concerned about at this time is the AL Central where we are in a situation to contend. We win and we are in the playoofs and anything can happen. Hopefuly we do that and are playing like we should be when playoff time is here
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 01:53 PM) Let's hope we keep seeing the patient Sox team that sees lots of pitches and get right back into that Tiger pen again. The Sox staff is in good shape after being saved by Contreras in game two. I am feeling all giddy about this team again-at least until w elose again
  5. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) I'm guessing Poreda called up, Richard back to the pen as the long reliever/spot starter. Colon is released. Leaving the rotation the rest of the year: Buerhle, Floyd, Danks, Contreras, Poreda Isn't that what most of us predicted to start the year back in the winter? Look at Poredas #'s this year: Poreda 2009 stats He is more than ready to go. . That is a lot of guessing. My guess is Fields is gone
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) We're missing the biggest issue here: how will Josh Fields feel about this? I hope he tells us all about it-from another team
  7. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 01:23 PM) Is it me or does it feel like there is going to be some trades happening here really soon. I feel strongly both ways about this possibility
  8. QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 03:04 PM) They all came to see Wise One can only hope. But, seriously I wouldn't put much stock in this stuff. You would think al teams including the Sox are always sending scouts out and about
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 04:17 AM) Posted this in other thread, but CQ isn't going to be back on Wednesday. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-0...0,5772928.story Thanks for the update. I expereinced plantiar faciatis (PF) about 6 years ago and it is a painful injury. I wasn't careful with my exercise regimen and ended up with PF in both feet and it took a year for the pain to go away. I still experience discomfort in my right foot from time to time
  10. BA doesn't suck. He has hitg the ball hard and played good D. No hits is a run that all players go through from time to time
  11. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 10:20 PM) The gang's back together. Now all we need is Rowand, Everett, and one of the Alomar brothers, and it'll be good ole White Sox baseball all over again! Let's start a rumor
  12. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:56 PM) Other than hitting and fielding, Josh is having a remarkable season. Super dud , I mean star in the making
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 02:32 AM) With Gordo you can definitely see he's pressing. When he gets his first hit, I'm sure it'll be smooth sailing for him IMO. He's been robbed of a couple so far and you are right it is coming
  14. Jose Contreras takes over in the rotation from..? My guess is it's Colon
  15. This game will be a hard one to call. On one hand you have Jose back and ready to make a positive statement but on the other you have Bonderman who hasn't pitched for over a yewar so that gives him a decided edge over the Sox offense-whatever that is
  16. QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) It's funny you mention that, since the hit and run has actually worked fairly well this season while nobody on the team can bunt. But Ozzie hasn't been known to use anyone to their strengths. He maanges with his gut
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) I hate bunting with a fast guy on first base so much. If you want to do anything, do a protective hit-and-run. The only time to bunt is if you get a guy on 2nd and no outs in a tie game in the 8th or 9th. There was no hit and running done today nor did we try and steal until the last of the 8th

    Sigh

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) its funny bcuz u make it seem like he has better options. anderson?yea well hes playing just as bad right now,if not worse. blame kw for giving ozzie sh** players for cf Makes one want to really bash KW for his winter moves doesn't it? What did we gain at all? I hope that whenever Flowesr comes up we see something that will make us feel we did get a return on a trade.

    Sigh

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 09:06 PM) Honestly, I'd rather have Lillibridge. At least the guy could take a walk and provided a late inning PR who could steal a base. If I remember right he was hitting lower than Wise

    Sigh

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) Our starting CF, beloved by our manager, is hitting .150 Is he hitting that good?
  21. elrockinMT

    Sigh

QUOTE (ChesterCopperpot @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) Man, that Wise guy sure is fun to watch. Why is he batting so low in the batting order? I think it's because Ozzie wants to put off the inevitable as long as he can and just toy with us. The other one is Fields, who can't
  22. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:22 PM) 2 BBs and now they're loaded...Detoilet can bust it open here. It will happen no doubt
  23. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:20 PM) Wise is such a bad player, put pods un CF and live with the D, put getz at 2b and leave beckham at 3rd, for the love of god Ozzie You have to have a bench-the reserve players to work with-but making changes like you suggest would leave us nothing. However, I am not saying you are wrong.
  24. I have been watching the debacle o WGN and taking a moment to check in. At least what I am seeing isn' my imagination. A nightmare maybe, but we are all having the same bad dream. What a pathetic offensive dispaly again
  25. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 05:41 PM) Wow, dude. I like the idea of Beckham sliding to second as well, but you are seriously panicking over absolutely nothing here. Its the first game of a double-header, and you are convinced that Beckham being out this game is Ozzie jerking him around? Please come back down to earth. Correct. There will be others sitting in game two and Beckham will be playing I am sure. Just wish it was Beckham in game one
