  1. I think this is an issue that is till playing itself out. We have at least a couple more players in the Minors that may be here within a year or so and then we will be trying to figure out how they all fit in this line up. Danks in CF? Viciedo at 3B? Allen at 1B? Ramirez at SS? Getz at 2B? Beckham at 3B-SS or 2B? Maybe Getz becomes the super sub? To early to be sure on this yet. Maybe somebody gets traded?
  2. Our bullpen did their best to blow the game
  3. Why trade one of our best most consistent players? We are contenders because of J Dye. Reading these posts makes me reiterate my feeling about how low we value our own players. "Lewis is 29 yrs old and has so much talent-I would settle for..." this type of stuff is just ridiculous. We need to keep JD
  4. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 06:10 PM) Yea, I mean with all the stats we throw around here, we have to (sadly) be very open to the possibility that this player will return to his norm. and on top of that be ready for decrease in physical abilities as aging furthers. He has returned to his norm and that is being a good lead off hitter with good speed. Why are we talking about trading our good players again. We are contenders.
  5. I got to see the Saturday and Sunday games on WGN. Exciting to say the least. We are still in this ALCentral race that's for sure, I am not sure what the most exciting thing I saw was, but Beckham's first walk oiff win hit has got to be up there
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) Oh that's BS...he's thinking about the ladies. Who isn't?
  7. The guy is healthy and happy obviously and has worked hard to change his style of play, etc. We need to keep him in my opinion.
  8. Alexei Ramirez needs to motivate himself and get his butt kicked once in awhile by management. If the thought process, which has been expounded by some, is that you just keep moving him around to a different position what is to say he won't react the same way in CF? We need to stabalize the defensive positions and not react to a few bad plays or attitude issue. That goes for all our players too.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 10:35 PM) Great job by the ump to make that plate an extra foot wide in the 9th. All I can say is that Ump must be a Cubs fan. That was flat out just a bad call for the strike 3 on Pods. But, he was calling them wide on Sox hitters a lot
  10. That strike zone outside to Getz is pretty generous
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 10:23 PM) I don't like walking Soriano here. Hope I'm wrong. It worked out. But, you have to walk Soriano to get the match up you need
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 10:15 PM) that was quick. I was hoping he would try and go opposite field. It seemed to be a good pitch to hit though
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:59 PM) I watch more baseball than a human should, and there are/were no active shortstops better than Uribe. Uribe is golden with the glove
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:55 PM) There's the Matt Thornton we all know a love. Three straight strikes to Hoffie for the K. Sorry Game day said Fox. Now he is up Now he got em

  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) Might be time to pull Contreras. 90 pitches in this weather and with a possible back injury is enough for him. Don't want to ruin any potential trade value either. Don't get too down Fathom. I know you still feel we can win this thing so trading someone isn't really the answer
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) What happened with the back injury? I saw you guys mention it. I don't know of any "back" problem at least this year
  18. But, we don't seem to learn. How often can you remember where we have like one opposing hitter that just tears us apart during a series? I think we have that issue way to often
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:39 PM) There what is? Am I supposed to be happy about this? I didn't say anything bad, but giving up a 3 run homer immediately after an error would get someone like Gavin or Garland booed off of this site. You might be right. I didn't say antyhing, but was going to mention that all three runs came off homers. We have two solo and they have two for five runs. Not good clutch throwing there and especially after that error
  20. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) bullpen is taxed Supposedly Bradley threw a fit in the dugout, then went downstairs, Lou and Z followed him. Now he's out A hissy fit huh
  21. QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) Len says Soto is playing more relaxed after saying he tested positive for weed. That baseball looks really big and travels real slow now says Sotoganja
