  1. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) i am not sure if copper had anytning to do with it but he sure looks a lot better than peavy The dude's definitely been a HUGE bonus for this team. Been pretty damn impressive.
  2. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) Prepare, Soxtalkers, to be cockblocked by an NL team meh...not getting my hopes up too much he'll fall to us.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Aug 17, 2010 -> 12:31 PM) OK, I don't know how popular this topic is going to be, but I am curious to see if there is anybody else out there like me. Does anybody else somewhat resent football for taking all the national and local attention away from baseball once NFL training camp starts? Sometimes it feels like the trade deadline July 31 is the last time baseball gets the spotlight, from a coverage/attention point of view. Then NFL training camp starts, followed by the ultra-meaningless preseason games that are really hyped up, (then 20 pages of coverage about Cutler's two, yes, two passes), and baseball doesn't really take center stage again until the World Series. I work at a bar with one big main TV at the front. Not once, not twice, but THREE times over the past two weeks I was asked to change the channel from a pennant race baseball game (twice it was the Sox) to a pre-season football game. I know I shouldn't complain about other people's preferences, but this always manages to get me frustrated. Don't get me wrong, I AM a Bears fan. But I am far and away a baseball fan first. Football only really matters to me on Sundays in the fall/winter. I don't hate football, but I can't stand how America and Chicago makes it such a big deal, bigger than baseball, while there are pennant races going on. Or when the Sox tank and a popular post on Sox message boards is "I've got one thing to say: Go Bears!" To me, the Sox are so much more important. Anyway, maybe I'm the only one who feels this way. Football is king, in this city and in this country, and I should just accept it. But does anybody else resent it a little? Maybe they need to get a few more TVs where you work...
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 20, 2010 -> 07:12 PM) maybe i'm going too far, but it's the crew chief's call, and the crew chief is joe west who certainly has an axe to grind. pretty much sums it up right there...
  5. QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 20, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) Thanks for nothing Anaheim.... 1st and 3rd nobody out for the halos...
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 20, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) He's only thrown 7 pitches. yeah...but for a starter to get loose and take the hill and then shut it down for that long isn't good. Some guys may be different tho...but that's what's been my experience.
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 20, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Joe West has f***ed us -- why in the hell do you start this game when they're saying it's going to be a 2 hour rain delay? Seriously...I saw this pic in the trib. and went to weather.com (what a concept...I know)....thinking there's NO WAY they're gonna start this game. Joe West can suck my hairy white ass!!!
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 20, 2010 -> 11:39 AM)
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 19, 2010 -> 09:25 PM) I would normally say this is a great win, but it seems like it just might be too little too late. I can see why yer skeptical and down milkman...and believe me...I am too. If the Sox would have lost tonight I very well would have cashed in my chips. But let's look at the upcoming series for both teams. We have KC and the Twinkies have the Halos. We very easily could pick up a couple games there. This game might have put some "moxie" back into the boys. Lot's of games left. I say that with guarded optimism knowing the MO after a 21 hit attack by this team (come back scoring one run the next game). But ya never know.
  10. SUPER...run out to get something to eat and come back to this. I suppose Oz left Gavin out there the die again?
  11. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Aug 17, 2010 -> 09:30 PM) agreed. this should be moved or locked. it serves no real purpose except for people to whine about Thome not being signed which has been happening too much as it is. don't read it then... seriously...I'm so pissed right now I can't even think straight. Not only Thome's dinger but the fact that again this team craps down it's leg time and time again with RISP.
  12. I think that hit single handedly ruined my entire season to the point I think I'm gonna cash it in. f*** you Ozzie. And f*** you Kenny for not having the balls to tell Ozzie to shove it up his ass. And btw...f*** you Thome. You're on the Twins now so go f*** yourself.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2010 -> 09:17 PM) My brother brought up an interesting theory. Beckham seems to always have bad ABs if he swings and misses the first pitch. interesting observation...
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2010 -> 08:54 PM) Oh boy, they have Konerko set up for the offspeed pitch. or slider...
  15. I thought that had 2 written all over it. let's knock the s*** outta this guy!!!
