  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:42 PM) My list would be: KW Alex Rios Ozzie Greg Walker Juan Pierre Alex Rios Tony Pena Alex Rios Jake Peavy +Floyd
  3. Does anybody else get the feeling that Kenny has probably gone to Jerry and said, "we have to do something Jerry...this ain't working with Ozzie..." and Jerry's blind loyalty to Ozzie tells him tough s***skis?
  4. Somebody needs to go...simple as that. You can't keep doing this crap...year after year. I'd actually prefer they blow it up. I'd rather watch hungry less talented players than these stagnant lumps.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:25 PM) Just got in from out of town and went to dinner. The sports bar had MLB Extra on and the Sox game showing just in time for me to see that homer Ohman gave up to a lefty. I think the secret was lefty to get lefty out? Then of course two on twice and Dunn K's followed the next inning by k's by Beckham and Morel Hughes is a righty.... Ozzie left Gavin in to face the lefty and brought in Ohman to face the righty. Go figure.
  6. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) Sale has a very high ceiling and should be groomed to start next year. IMO, he has the most potential to become a true ace on our staff. He should be...but will he be another story. That would require a house cleaning...which I doubt will happen.
  7. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) I hate to be Debbie Downer...but how many times has everybody seen this team have a big 1st inning and crap down their pant legs the rest of the game. Shocker!
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) Can you imagine how happy Thome is being on the other side of this "rivalry?" He got to hit the home run which was our last highlight against these guys now he gets to kick our ass. On a serious note ... how long will fans show up for this? Is the Cell experience so great (if it is, awesome) that the product doesn't matter much? Or will our crowds start dwindling? I wouldn't go. Hell...the sox were out here in June...and I'd be damned if I was gonna go out and spend money to watch that garbage.
  9. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) I wish we could get the Sox to play half as hard. The day game that I was at against the Royals was by far the most apathetic effort I've ever seen out of a baseball team in my 20 years of watching baseball. I swear...it's the lifeless coaching staff. They exude dullness....
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 09:49 PM) And I think he knew all along they wanted to bring in a big-name manager (think he had the lowest salary in the majors) when both Strasburg and Harper were on the team together in 2012. He called their bluff and they wouldn't blink about building up everything for the following season. They gotta have their eye on somebody else though...there's a ton of talent on that team.
  11. I'd drill him....but that's just how I pitched. Eff 'em...need a fire somehow.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) And the Nationals. Viciedo 1/3 with another BB. Don't need him. I think Davey Johnson may backfire on them. Who knows...maybe not. Sounds like they weren't too fond of Riggleman.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) Pirates will be tied for first tonight if scores hold up Good for them...and Clint Hurdle. Goes to show you what a different mindset brings a team (YOU LISTENING JERRY!!!!!!). ps. see DBags too.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 09:25 PM) This is the never-ending problem against the Twins. This is a never-ending problem against any team. We'll score in the 1st and get shut down for the rest of the game....it's not just the Twins. Just more evident against them IMO.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) Falling back into our normal trend this year with RISP after the 1st inning abberation. It never fails...1st inning runs mean crapping down pant legs the rest of the game. It's clockwork.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) So he let Gavin face a lefty and brought in his LOOGY to face a righty. Try defending that Rongey I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a story about a blow up with Kenny and Ozzie after the game. Inexcusable. But on the other hand...Kenny signed Ohman. Eff 'em both...
  17. Wish there was a webcam on Kenny on that one...
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 08:41 PM) Farmer and DJ were both blaming that one on Ramirez for letting the baserunner get too far in on him on the takeout slide and not forcing him to hit the deck. uhhh...I dunno about that. Maybe that little hesitation from Gordo caused that.
  19. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) I blame Beckham and his double play that wasn't. Yeah...but they turn that on 98% of the rest of the leagues players. That dude is lightening fast. Did seem like Gordo got it caught in his glove a bit though...but they turned it pretty quick. Still gotta make the pitches tho..
  20. Actually not bad listening to Twins announcers minus Blyleven.
  21. Motion may be different...but Gavin Floyd = Brandon McCarthy IMO (minus health problems)
  22. I'd trade Gavin in a heartbeat for a decent return...mental midget.
